      @watershedoverlook, hey Chris! Great to see you back out on the LX again! One thing I thought of, that I actually picked up from @gpoutdoors (thanks, Gord!!), was have you thought about an overrun clutch? Gord did a great video explaining the use for one, and it's benefits, including about 4" - 6" extra length from the output shaft, and reduced wear and tear on the tractor during deceleration of the implement. May be worth looking into. I'm awaiting delivery of an MX9900 wood chipper for the back of my 3310, and I bought an overrun clutch for that, as it has a 225 lb flywheel. Of course if you do get one, you'll have to check and potentially cut your PTO shaft a little. Good luck Chris, and take care!

      @tylerd4522 Thanks Tyler. Actually, I do have an overrun clutch (that I purchased for an attachment that I bought but haven't talked about on the channel). I did consider using that, although I'd need to recheck the shaft length. Thanks for the suggestion. 👍😎

    Hey Chris. Had mine for about 4 years now. I use a cheap adjustable strap to suspend the shaft at the right height so I can use both hands. Also every time I install it I spray as much penetrant on the locking pin mechanism as possible! I don’t use my quick hitch with it so that might make it a little easier. And ya, the clip on the chain is serious!! Does a great job though…enjoy.

    • @watershedoverlook

      Thanks for watching Bruce. I like the penetrant idea! And I agree...it does do a great job, especially for its size and price point! 👍😎

    I've got an L3301 and a WG24. I usually leave the WG24 on the ground and connect the pto shaft before connecting to the quick hitch. That shaft will extend to give you some room to get in there however I know what you mean when it comes to getting that spring loaded button pushed in to connect to PTO. I usually can turn my pto by hand until it aligns to the shaft, making it a little easier. Great video and content!

      Thanks Bassman, and sorry for my slow response! I'm still honing my hook-up procedure. I'm getting better, but it's still a pain! FYI, I am in the midst of a pretty big stump removal project...more WG24 content on the way if you are interested!

    I use Pat's Quick Hitch and there is a lot more room to get into the PTO hookup without the top link and quick hitch frame in the way. Love my WG24 grinder. I do take as much of the horizontal sway out as possible so the grinder is less prone to jumping around when grinding. Plus, when I take mine off, I place a 4x4 under the back of the grinder to hold the blade off the ground so I can turn it to align the shaft if needed. I've ground probably close to 200 stumps with mine.

    Sold my speedco quick hitch recently, it just gets in the way. The implements I use the most it can't accommodate, hydraulic stump grinder , ditch bank flail mower etc. Plus just something else to work around hooking up drive lines.

    That thing is a beast, were you using the camera to help position it? Oh yes moving and setting cameras makes the job take longer. PTO clip are ridiculous I always have issues with mine. Fighting the shaft is a pain. My PTO shield flips up and out of the way, makes it easier

      Well dang, Dana, I'm a wee bit late in replying, but thanks for watching! No, not using the camera, but I've found if I tilt the hydro top-link to the correct angle I can actually see the flywheel and visibility becomes less of an issue. My PTO shield flips up, just not enough.

  • @dancincowboy38
    @dancincowboy38 3 месяца назад +1

    On the clip, use pliers and remove it. Get one that works for you. 2nd, I removed my PTO shield a long time ago. Don't need it because I won't put my hands in there while it's on. I have several implements, and they are all a pain to slip on.

    Hi Chris, I was frustrated as well watching you install the grinder. Try using French cussing words like "sacrableux" 🤣I wonder if those PTO quick connect could help, Martin @DYI My Way installed one, video #175 ? Maybe adding a carabiner to that stiff clip would make it easier?. Just some suggestions Chris, Happy belated Father's Day 🙋🏼‍♂👍🏻🥃
