Gawds Michel Prado Pro Skate Mystery - Did Gawds and Anarchy use the same skate?

- Gawds recently released the Michel Prado II Pro Skate and in the promo Michel can be seen riding a prototype version that looks a lot like the Anarchy skate that was leaked last year. Is this the same skate and why did neither company end up using this boot in the end? Well, it turns out it's a pretty interesting story and it may not be the last we see of this shell.
Note: I said the Anarchy skate was "released" when I meant to say it was ''leaked'. I swear every time I press record my brain goes blank.

If I had to guess, it's probably just corporate oversight. I see it often, someone is supposed to make a decision, and either does it without actually checking the proof or they just never do it and its left up to lower management to make the call without big picture foresight. Great coverage!

Great breakdown. I feel like the initial knee-jerk reaction is to assume someone (Powerslide/Gawds in this case) is trying to cut corners. It's good to have this kind of information to temper those reactions - especially when the reason for going cheaper is aligned with accessibility. It's too easy to assume big business is always looking to maximize profits, and I like when someone points out that reality isn't always so nefarious. Thanks for putting this together!

Maybe the new “echo skate” is really the new “loco skate” maybe they used the same open source . It would make sense , plus loco owner loves black and white skates . 🤯🤯 haha
Jake has said on the Loco RUclips that it's in the very early stage and they don't have a soul plate for it yet. It could literally be anything! Haha!
The prototype looks way better and a more budget friendly option would’ve been great!

There’s definitely potential there. You can take many cheap open mould shells and make them great with a decent soul plate, cuff and premium liner.

In the late ‘90s and early 2000s they were available in most skate shops in the UK.
What's the name of the person that hit Prado? and I thought for Them skates, Bauer was the company that owned the molds in the late '90s before it went budget/open mold in the 00s 🤷
The Bauer model is slightly beefier but definitely from the same factory.

Actually, that’s a pretty good way to put it! Although it is the first time they’ve deviated from the Jordan-inspired skin I think with that particular model.
