I teach using just one of many accents in the world. Please only learn it if you like it and if you are interested in learning it. I do not believe there is one “correct” accent or manner of pronunciation and I fully encourage EFL/ESL learners to expose themselves to as many varieties of English around the world to become accustomed to the beautiful variations of this world language. I focus mostly on teaching “Modern RP” (I may just say “RP” in my older videos, but to clarify, I do specifically mean “Modern RP”), however, you will hear a lovely little Yorkshire twang to my accent from time to time too. Please LOVE and BE PROUD of your accent. After all, it is part of your identity and makes you unique. 💚

It's fun for me. I enjoy it. Whatever i learn, i teach my students.
It’s absolutely very useful you’re the teacher for teaching
Hello Emma. I've been watching your videos for a few months but never actually commented. I just wanna let you know that your content has helped me to improve my pronunciation tremendously. I scored band 7.5 for IELTS a year ago, which many people in my country considered a great achievement and praised me for it (I know it's not that big of a deal haha). However, I never actually felt confident or proud of that because my speaking was still filled with mistakes and a very strong Asian accent. But this summer, I discovered your channel and now I'm much more comfortable using English when talking instead of just writing as it used to be. Thank you so much and please keep up the great work!
Firstly, I'm so happy I can help you! Thank you for sharing this :)
Secondly, don't ever worry about your accent. Instead, focus on the pronunciation and just speaking clearly. Literally everyone who opens their mouth has an accent, so there's absolutely no need to feel ashamed of it.
Lastly, a 7.5 in IELTS is amazing and surprisingly quite tricky to get for some people! It's quite an achievement. Well done!! :)
@@Pronunciationwithemma thank you!
I found your channel recently & I have been watching your videos ever since. I recommended it to all my friends. The content and your way of teaching are excellent, your appearance is natural and friendly (I hate it when youtubers overdress and act like celebrities), you cover many aspects of English focusing mainly on pronunciation which we need the most. Thank you 🌷 Greetings from Egypt 👋
Thank you so much!!! I really appreciate you for sharing my channel too ❤
Thank you for your crystal clear explanation.
Many thanks, Emma, It is an amazing lesson I have been waiting for for a while.

Emma, I love these most common irregular pronunciation verbs. Your pronunciation teaching is really adorable Emma
There are some verbs that have two accepted past forms, like learnt / learned, burnt / burned.
Thanks for the compilation Emma!
But these are typically more American and not used in the UK as much (like Gotten) :)
@@Pronunciationwithemma yeah, I just mentioned it because some people could get confused when they see a list of verbs.

Thank you ma'am I learn right pronunciation of verbs
Thanks you so much. Emma
thank you verry much...
I love your videos and learn a lot from them.
Thanks as always for this fruitful video. By the way I do not know if the verb "focus" is considered as an irregular verb or not.
Sometimes the past tense and the past participle are "focussed" while other times are "focused" the same story goes to the third-person singular present tense and gerund form. (focuses vs. focusses & focussing vs foucusing).
It's regular!! Check out my video on the pronunciation of -Ed endings and it'll explain why it's pronounced that way! :)

In England I've heard natives say 'I was sat in a pub...', 'Please stay sat'...At first I thought, isn't it wrong? - confused. It's just colloquial and, yes, I started using 'sat' in that (wrong) way, sometimes, because I like it.
Yeah, exactly! We use this a LOT too!
