Lugia at first doesn’t appear scary but considering it literally lives underneath the ocean and rarely comes to the surface imagine being a fisherman and you see Lugias shadow rushing underneath the ocean it would come across as being scary
I just wanna mention, in ORAS, there's a different version of the legendary theme for primal groudon and kyogre, and that alternate version is really cool. it switches between the new version and the GBA version throughout the theme and it's super cool.
Suicune would probably be the first one we ever disagreed on. That's an A tier for me. But it's still fair since the build-up takes really long, like really really long. Also, fun fact. Suicune, Raikou and Entei all have different versions of the same theme. With noticeable differences based on the Mons themselves
It's funny that you put Reshiram as the representative of B/W's box art legend theme, when the music used in the video you watched was Zekrom's theme. The difference between them is in a short segment in the song, in which there's an electricity sound effect, which was used in Pokemon White for Zekrom's theme, while in in Pokemon Black, they used a fire sound effect for Reshiram.
i gotta say, jumping between dialga/palkia's theme and giratina's really gives me the feeling the arrangers werent used to the DS soundfont when they made diamond and pearl, but really got the hang of it in the platinum-gen 5 timeframe
Yeah and you could make an argument for ultra necrozma technically being a box-art legendary because if you put the boxes of ultra sun and ultra moon next to each other (US on the left and UM on the right), the light that’s on the right side of US and the left side of UM combine to make ultra necrozma in the middle
And yeh. Both the stabby theme and the shieldboy theme suffer from what I'd say, build up issue, in a sense that their themes are just a precursor to the beauty of that final battle theme.
To explain the doggos theme The start sounds incredibly intimidating because, I mean, giant wolves with weapons that could quite easily annihilate you are standing right in front of you And then, you remember They're good boys, heros even And so the music changes pitch to something more light hearted, before drifting into a mix, like, I'm fully aware of what you're capable of so I respect your presence, but I also know you're here to help out in some way and perform some good, so you're cool Like a respectful relaxed kind of tone
When another youtuber stops listening on the first phase of arceus theme 💀😔. Also, i know this video was pretty long, but doing only for the box art legendary felt empty considering how many legendary pokemon there are
I stand by Arceus being a box art legendary 😂 its there right in the title sequence being all mysterious 😝 Loved relistening to all these themes 😁 DawnWings/DuskMane had so much potential but just couldn't hit what it was aiming for
I've seen some comments on the Unova Legendary theme (Non box art legendary) saying that it would also fit Dialga and Palkia with how it speeds up and slows down like time and space distorting.
For some reason I prefer the original RSE theme for the trio, the trumpets hit harder and for some reason the remake one feels a bit empty. The original also sounds more ''ancient'' and you can hear the sounds related to both dryness and ocean (buoy bell in tormented waters, flute low notes making a dark colored wave-shaped melody, just like big dark waves in the middle of the ocean at night). In the remake the beat is layered above all the instruments whose volumes are lowered, making the remake sound more like a less colorful remix without the tone painting of the original.
Idk why, gen 4 Dialga and palkia theme are just soooo meh, specially since you can see what their brother got ( not even bringing up what Giratina gets afterwards in legends).
From ORAS it missing the Deoxys theme, the trio regis theme, from USUM it missing the Ultra-necrozma theme when necrozma come to the final form, From the Bw2 Bw, it missing the trio of sword of justice and force of nature, from diamond/pearl/platinum it missing the trio Lake, for XY it missing Mewtwo theme which has been remake
6:03 Kyogre and Groudon got snubbed. you mistook Rayquaza's theme for their theme, but Battle! Primal Reversion is the one that incorporates the original song and elevates the tension of the scene through the cave roof and back to the surface. An easy S tier candidate. P.S. Ultra Necrozma deserves an honorable mention for half appearing on US' box and half on UM's.
Black Kyurem and White Kyurems theme will always be peak legendary Pokemon ost for me (followed by Arceus (specifically the BD/SP version), Lugia, Duskmane / Dawnwings Necrozma and Groudon/Kyogre). I just love the chaos and distortion in its theme. My least favorite are Solgaleo / Lunala and Xerneas / Yveltal.
I might be biased, but I'm typing this before you chose, and for me, It's Giratina. And imma assume you'd do the same. Cuz let's be honest. The intensity, the power of it, it's just so much better than the others.
Or because she doesn't necessarily like it, she listens to music almost all the time until the loop, if she didn't do it for this music, it's because she didn't necessarily like the quarter of the music.@@thend4427
Nice rankings, though I found it odd that you ranked the DPPt versions of Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina's themes instead of the BDSP version, while the other Legends got the latest incarnation of their themes ranked.
Okay, Gen 5 right, Rashiram and Zekroms themes are alright and all, but like, it's infinity inferior to the genie's & swords themes. Which is so weird to me! Like wtf? I genuinely think their themes should have been switched. Cuz that more intense theme suits the box arts so much more.
i guess is cus in story, when you face in BW1 Zekrom or Reshiram, you basically summoned it to help you, and it answered to you, so there is the sense that it is not a threat to you the player, but the swords by their lore and how secluded they are, they detest humans and are testing you for real, they are not so friendly, at least on BW1
Lugia at first doesn’t appear scary but considering it literally lives underneath the ocean and rarely comes to the surface imagine being a fisherman and you see Lugias shadow rushing underneath the ocean it would come across as being scary

She also unfortunately just missed the Crystal sound effects at the end of the track

Also! Kyurem has a bass drop
Dialga and Palkia's theme will forever be my favourite Legendary Pokemon theme of all time, the especially the versions in Legends Arceus.
i gotta say, jumping between dialga/palkia's theme and giratina's really gives me the feeling the arrangers werent used to the DS soundfont when they made diamond and pearl, but really got the hang of it in the platinum-gen 5 timeframe
From US/UM, the best theme would've been Ultra Necrozma.
Yeah and you could make an argument for ultra necrozma technically being a box-art legendary because if you put the boxes of ultra sun and ultra moon next to each other (US on the left and UM on the right), the light that’s on the right side of US and the left side of UM combine to make ultra necrozma in the middle

Should have done the GBC version of Suicunes theme since that one is true to its box art debut.
I personally choose -Heart Monitor- Giratina as the best theme.
16:44 the payoff is its own song, which was unjustly snuffed!
I'm fully in on the Ho-oh and Lugia ranks. Always loved Ho-ohs theme. Idk why, Lugia seemed a bit too chaotic for what the Mon was to me.

i mean Arceus is a box art legendary, bc legends arceus
Lol while DuskMane DawnWings didn’t hit it, it was a precursor to the banger theme of the Nuzlocke Run Killer
Finally u got to the good part of the giratina song at the end of the video lmao
I've seen some comments on the Unova Legendary theme (Non box art legendary) saying that it would also fit Dialga and Palkia with how it speeds up and slows down like time and space distorting.

Always loved all the different legendary themes growing up as a Pokémon fan:)🙂
Idk why, gen 4 Dialga and palkia theme are just soooo meh, specially since you can see what their brother got ( not even bringing up what Giratina gets afterwards in legends).
The legends Giratina theme sweeps everything on this list
Groudon and Kyogre's theme is different to Rayquaza in oras.
Yeah I was wondering why she listened to the Rayquaza version but im glad she liked it atleast lol
These videos are just anti letting the theme of Zekrom and Reshiram showcase its sound effects I swear.
I love zacians😭

Giratina and the xyz trio are the best
And the wolfs too 👉👈(why do you always miss the best part in this)
Cause she only listens to a minute for some reason
Or because she doesn't necessarily like it, she listens to music almost all the time until the loop, if she didn't do it for this music, it's because she didn't necessarily like the quarter of the music.@@thend4427
Giratina's theme goes crazy
Ho-Oh, Suicune, Giratina, Deoxys, the lake Trio, the djins/swords of justice, ultra necrozma and Xerneas/Yveltal have the best legendary themes
I feel like giratinas PLA theme should've been here
The Regis were done dirty I'm crying 😭
The arceus theme is best when the glitch break happens
there is a part in gen 5 music that goes pretty hard, you could have listened to it a bit longer.
6:36 aaaaaaaaaaaand I'm asleep. I'd rather Dialga and Palkia go on the list with the Legends: Arkoos upgrade.
Nice rankings, though I found it odd that you ranked the DPPt versions of Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina's themes instead of the BDSP version, while the other Legends got the latest incarnation of their themes ranked.
And I was right. Yeah. Fully agreed on that S hehe
I was surprised with XY cuz I would have put that as S or A, its a lot more solid than most of the other themes. Black and white was meh.

Suicune is my favourite legendary
