n 1953, shortly after Lt. Nathan Hale's death, Corporal Joseph Capelli, the only remaining member of the Sentinels, is dishonorably discharged for executing the former, despite having done it due to having turned into a chimera. Four years later, Capelli, now married to a woman named Susan Farley, is living with a community of survivors in Haven, Oklahoma. Despite their best efforts, they are discovered by Chimeran forces, who have launched a full-scale genocide against the human race, now that their virus can be cured. Capelli and his militia company fight off the attackers, but not before they summon a massive terraforming platform to destroy the town.

This franchise was so underrated the entire trilogy was a great storyline so many memorable moments for me. The Invasion of England and America, Nathan Hale slowly losing his humanity and his tragic Death, Then Joseph Campelli taking the torch to end this nightmare. Resistance 3 put the emotions to 11.
I personally blame Halos bloated popularity.

It blows my mind that Sony has these Interesting Shooter IP’s like the Resistance Franchise, but haven’t haven’t done anything with it for years just like Killzone or SOCOM Navy Seal franchises.
Yep, but at the same time it is good they allow their studios to make new IPs. Sony has a wide variety of franchises now. It means, maybe, we will see some surprises like new Killzone or Resistance games.
Hoping they bring this back for PS5. They haven't done anything will Killzone either, although Shadow Fall was a major disappointment, I love the series overall
the game is long death....this one Insomnia was created before even come to make Spiderman for PS4.............this game come out like 2010 if i remember correctly and at the time there is console war still going on and everyone just talk about Gear of war while Sony fans know this game exit.
They have try in that gen but at the time people know about Xbox Shooter ip and no one buy PS3 ......at the time at the time.
Its because the shooter genre is largely dead. Unless its an RPG based shooter or its main focus is the multiplayer then its not gonna sell.
Capelli got the happy ending he deserved after going through that.

Id you haven't seen Falling skies then I highly recommend. It's pretty much the tv series of the Resistance.

I felt sad when Malikov died. Great story. Prob the best of the three although two was darn good. I thought Capelli was a great choice as the main protaganist. Does anyone get any Walking Dead vibes when Capelli was in the prison?
Sony now has the option to have Bungie remake the Resistance franchise if the original devs aren't up to it. The 3rd game definitely has the best story. And man these graphics didn't age too bad.

Out of the three this one is the best because it tells a good story and you can relate to Joseph Capelli's motivation to be back with his wife and son even though he doesn't want to save the world but he did it anyway to have a future for his family. Also the third game has great pacing and the weapons are really fun to use and they're upgradeable the more you use them.

Did anyone else notice Resistance 3 didn't really have a final boss, it was just blasting your way through multiple levels. I get Dadelis was sorta a head-hancho bit ot would've been interesting to see one of the chimera ancestors as the final boss.

I wish they had one more game where the remainder of the forces would strike at the beginning of Chimera source in Russia to finally drive them out.

I remember Killzone was advertised as a "Halo killer". While Killzone games are mostly good, I think Resistance series was a bit closer to that. It had a great variety of weapons, lots of enemy types, some sandbox elements. R1 multiplayer was a perfect mix between halo, quake and cod. I hope we will see this series in the future

I really enjoy the Resistance series. The only thing I find puzzling is if SRPA had Grey Tech components, why not use it on their vehicles and to create exo suits. Would've really helped them take out the wormhole tower. Another thing that's mysterious is if the Cloven are still active or if the Hale vaccine killed them; would've been awesome to use their weapons to not only attack the tower but to take out Goliaths. Man I really wanted to fight Goliaths, stupid armor plating.
They hadn’t understood grey tech, only that the chimera wanted it because it was what lead to their original defeat on earth. It was the “other” species that fought them in Mexico millions of years ago. They were able to reverse engineer certain chimeran tech, but not fully replicate it.

If they ever make another Resistance game, if ever, it should take place during the time the Chimera fought the Grey Tech aliens, the other alien race who fought the Chimera so many years ago, and fully understand both them and the Chimera.

I grew up playing resistance but I've only played the first 2 games. I wanted to play the 3rd game but I couldn't find it in the store. I was 8 years old at the time so I didn't know how to order stuff 😅. 13 years later I still haven't played the game yet😂

I'm fairly sure they wrapped everything up with this game, a lot of epilogue stories implying humanity was winning the fight back - if there was a 4th entry, it'd be nice to see a conclusive victory kind of thing, even if it's a bit far-fetched considering 90% of the world had been converted
I find it really ironic that the voice actor who voices Capelli in this game voice Daedalus in Resistance 2 lol. Also the fact that two guys were able to destroy the Chimera tower while SRPA with a 1000 plus men and probably military equipment could not really makes them look like chumps.
Insomniac needs to remake this franchise I swear .

I like how stupid Mick is that he killed the person who'll stop the tower giving reinforcement for the chimeras, humanity is Destined to be stupid in the apocalypse times. But since our character manage to destroy the tower using the floating terra former. Humans use machines to crash down and destroy machines with it. I love humanity, it's like fight fire with fire. Fight constructed aliens structure with constructed aliens structure.
R3 was okay but R2 is the best, the multiplayer was great too

This was good and all but it destroyed the logic of the whole Resistance series. One guy with some assistance of a few people was able to singlehandedly take on the entire Chimeran army. Something that the combined armies of humanity was not able to do. Good game, terrible logic. If it was this easy then what did everyone died for?
The story progression is all over the place too. I'm definitely missing something between Graterford and NYC

Capelli doesn't look or sound even remotely like the character from Resistance 2. I understand that the virus roids them up, but still. Not even close.
