      for the sibilance you can use gain automation to duck that top end, you need to use Waves Vocal Rider, or WA Productions Outlaw, or Melda MAutoVolume and side chain the top end. I use the Melda one.

    The thing that makes the Neumann so awesome is it does has that high end boost. But it's sooo smooth. O lot of bright microphones come with a bit of harshness to it.

    Thank you for first having the mics but show casing them. I’ve been thinking about getting the Tlm 103 but I actually wanted the wa8000 first. I thought the Tlm 103 would be a better bang for my buck but now I hear the difference. They both great mics but the wa8000 has everything the Tlm missing.

    I personally like the clarity of the TLM103 but the WA 8000 might be better for aggressive vocals like rap or rock. It sounds very “in your face”.

    Did you let the tube warm up before this video?.. It needs to be warmed up for 30 mins i recommend an hour. But the Tube being cold gives the high end a harsh edge. If the tubes not warm ur missing a whole lot of top end in your recording

The first session I did with them they seemed a bit harsh...(I let them warm for about 10-15 minutes) did I ruin them by already using them like that? OR do I just let them warm up longer next time around for the best possible recording.? Thank you sir.

    WA87 sounds a bit dark for a U87 replica, it lacks that mid forwardness but still sounds good. the TLM103 is nice giving clear hi mids and the last mic for the price the top end sounds too harsh with huge spikes a bit embarassing for holding such a bold claim. so far it seems like all marketing and no credibility in the sound for that one

    hey man that U87, WA and 103 would be brighter if the mic capsule wasnt pointed at your chest. point it directly at you mouth, if its pointed at your nose it wil be to much nasal. trust me it makes a difference have it directly infront of u and u wont have to do much EQ anymore

      @ston3fr33 3 года назад +1

      @@steezebag1093 Tilting it is useful but I find I have to do more EQing depending on the voice. But you said your U87 sounds dark and that definitely shouldn’t be the case so try pointing the capsule directly at your lips atleast 8in away with a pop filter 4in from the mic and 4 in from you and it should have that super nice sheen. Same with all the mics. Also I prefer metal pop shields just make sure your not right up on it

    The tlm103 is like the Neumann starter pack mic though. That’s like their entry level mic and they aren’t even using the same capsule type. I’ve used the tlm for many years but the tlm67 I use currently is shitting on all of those. Might pick up the warm audio Sony clone in the future though
