      Lucky for you I have a playlist just for that :) ruclips.net/p/PLBDfGh8A8kXVvKBJ4UudhVLKlPdumAg5P
      If you had a model of your car as a surface that would offer up some different solutions. In most cases you don't have actual CAD data and we use a scanned Mesh as the input. The car in this video was sent to me and was modeled and not scanned, but the one in the playlist as well as many others on this channel are from scan data. You can tell usually by looking at the mesh triangles.

      @@nikolaoskousoulas If your plan is to make parts, i would use the Scan. If you are just trying to do some concept work and want renders or images and don't need to make physical parts, the modeled design might be better if you plan to render or something. I have both scanned and modeled my car from images and blueprints. The modeled version is close and a 3d printed flare "might" fit ok but not great. details will not be to scale and some parts that are critical to a design may be lost.

    • @LearnEverythingAboutDesign

      Yes you just mirror it. Depending on the vehicle you might have to modify one side for things like a fuel door but cars are mirrored so only model as little as you need to.

Doing a "rough" widebody in an hour is much different than something that has the fit and finish and is ready to produce.

      Probably not. The next widebody I do is for my own car and it will be a good bit of time. I have made enough videos on how to do it that you should give it a shot. That is not a car I assume anyone has done. You would need a mesh/scan of the car to get started.

    • @LearnEverythingAboutDesign
      @LearnEverythingAboutDesign  2 года назад

      @@lilstorm1879 To properly design an entire body kit off a high quality scan we are talking hundreds of hours of time to do it right. Even on the low end I would say $5000 would be just in the time to design. What you see on the screen here generally represents 1-2hr "rough in" of a design. Designing a 1 off body kit is a "labor of love" :) and there are a lot of details past just the initial looks you see on the screen. I have loads of videos on how to model car bodies and how to model a few different style fender flares and body parts in the MR2 series, tesla there are others. I did a quick search and found some companies made kits for that car but are no longer available. Not sure how hard it would be to find one but if that company still has their original molds it might be cheaper to buy molds from them and make your own from that.

      There are free car models on websites like SketchFab. These are generally modeled and not scanned though, so it depends on what you want to do.

    • @LearnEverythingAboutDesign
      @LearnEverythingAboutDesign  2 года назад

      I will have some videos coming soon to look at the process. You need some sort of scanner. Some people use Photogrammetry, some use hobby grade scanners like the RevoPop. You need to scan into a scan software, align and then bring the mesh into Fusion 360. There isn't a way to scan directly into Fusion.

It takes so much time that it is not a youtube video kind of thing.

I'm using trig stylus....if my sketch look worse I'm gonna blame windows trig for theirs product, but if you used an apple stylus and your sketch look really worse there no room you can blame~
