    How about using government funds to build housing for the homeless? If we can spend billions in other countries instead of helping citizens in America 🇺🇸 🙄

      They already did that... It's called HUD. Those apartments usually get stripped of copper within 5 years, especially in places like Seattle, Portland, LA, and NY where open air drug use is no longer treated as a crime.
      I agree we shouldn't be funding numerous proxy wars, but giving away money for junkies to burn is arguably just as bad... If not worse

      There's enough housing for the homeless in America. People aren't compelled to use it and would prefer to live on the street. They wouldn't be permitted to use alcohol or drugs in the shelters.

      @@gunclubprez but one big misconception is that they are "just" homeless. There is no talk about the fact there are programs to get clean but a lot of them don't opt for it.
      This is outside of the corruption of the homeless programs and the sloughing of money that happens within them. There are a lot more issues besides housing that need to be addressed and will never be addressed as long as people continue to glorify mental health and addiction.

      If people start calling on private property, they can be trespassed and arrested if it happens again, so no, it won't just be a civil matter. It will, however, flood jails with offenders who had no other options and, as a result of having a criminal record, have even fewer options as a result. Criminalizing homelessness only makes things worse for everyone.

      @jamaraquai4224 2 дня назад

      In an idyllic world, yeah. 100% agreed. But in reality, the vast majority of elected officials are so out of touch with the people they represent, that they couldn't and wouldn't advocate for them if their lives depended on it. Politicians exist to push the agendas of those who paid to put them into and keep them in office. "We the people" is just an echo shouted in the past and fading further into worthless rhetoric with every passing election.

    Good news! Homelessness is not a crime but what is a crime: all the things they do while being “homeless”. I used to be a big supporter of this population, but after seeing that this is more a lifestyle for the big majority (lawless life) and they refuse all the services given to them, THEN i said, this is not our problem anymore to solve their issues of accountability. We will end homelessness when we make it against the law…

    Here's the deal, if you give them 24 hours to move out of city limits, or get services, eventually they will be moved to other cities with the same ordinances. Eventually they will be on state land in king county out by fall city or up in Snohomish in the woods. Eventually these people will choose services and responsibility over being pushed further and further from food and panhandeling opportunities. Not to mention the assaults and aggressive behaviors.
