  • The Supreme Court cleared the way for cities to enforce bans on homeless people sleeping outside in public places on Friday, overturning a ruling from a California-based appeals court that found such laws amount to cruel and unusual punishment when shelter space is lacking.
The case is the high court's most significant ruling on the issue in decades and comes as a rising number of people in the U.S. are without a permanent place to live.

Yes whenever I hear Trump mention the mental ill it breaks my heart coming from a former President. I have serious mental disorders and have served over 30 years as a public servant with 3 college degrees. I did not do this alone however, yes there was much discrimination, but God never left me nor forsook me. God is love. God and my wife are the only reason I’m still alive. Jesus is alive and lives in me.

I just got video of SAPD for ticketing a man sleeping off the sidewalk in Travis Park…dude wasn’t by any businesses, wasn’t on any sidewalks, didn’t have trash beside him…they just rode up on bikes and ticketed him and ran him off.
Lots of people wake up cranky even if they have a good life…imagine how angry you might be if you were woken up by armed officers giving you a ticket for sleeping…then you’re ran off in 97+ degree weather…they made that man dangerous by treating him like that.

Build encampments outside of the city for them. They should be required to stay in them. But, you should also have mobile medical care, mobile social workers and a mobile food store which sells the food that stores are getting ready to put in the dumpster. Sell it for 10 or 15 cents. Have some one in social services bring them applications for businesses looking to hire. You can't expect people to want to be in an encampment that has nothing and they can't get to anything. Some one please use their brain.

River Aid San Antonio regularly volunteers picking up litter all over the city.
I pick up litter…you yourself can pick up litter! But expecting homeless people who are treated worse than animals to pick up litter that’s silly.
The city could put trash cans near homeless camps…but they want the area to look horrible so they have an excuse to treat them violently.

Yes I agree. Our Creator, Jesus, was homeless. Jesus said, “Foxes have dens to live in, and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place even to lay his head.” So Jesus takes this personally and He is the head and the judge of His church. Many homeless are Christians too. My wife and I serve the homeless they don’t serve us. My wife and I have a shelter the homeless don’t, but if the church or government is not going to provide adequate housing than they have Jesus as a shelter and He has prepared a place in heaven for them. God is love.
