Hey Roberto! My business sells a LOT of these adaptors and I'll be sure to show this video to customers online when they ask about Powerline adapters. Thanks a lot :)
Hello, Roberto your a great youtuber I wish more youtbers were like you. You always explain things thoroughly and you respond to almost all your fan's comments. Good job man keep up the good work!
+FreshMango Hi and thanks for the feedback, really appreciate it, regarding the comments, that is the most funny thing, to interact with everybody, without that communication humm it would not be the same thing :) RJ!!
Roberto I bought the adapters for my living room that had terrible wifi. This is one of the greatest quality buys I made and I will never use wifi on any of my android boxes anymore. Another question. You reviewed a M8S android TV box before and I have it. I was wondering if you knew a inexpensive quality game controller for it to buy?
+stephen cornelious Hey Stephen, nice hehe!! Enjoy your machines in a higher level :) Regarding the controller i use the Ipega 9028 :) Hope it helps. RJ
+stephen cornelious Hey Stephen, nice hehe!! Enjoy your machines in a higher level :) Regarding the controller i use the Ipega 9028 :) Hope it helps. RJ
Great explanation. Just a quick questions though... 1. What is the maximum range of your electrical outlet to get good connection? 2. Can I get good network speed if I connect 24 port switch on the outer side with 23 users? 3. Can I use it as an uplink to my network connections?
My connection speed is 150down 15 up. I have my ps4 and pc hooked up to a router which will be connected to the powerline soon, but my question is will the router, that is connected to the powerline have the 150down en 15up speed or will there be a speed loss? Great video by the way!
Hi, there is always a small hit on speed and this will depend on the powerline adapters, network cables, the power grid etc. Non the less if you have 150 mbits / sec you can expect to achieve more or less the same on powerline assuming you are using like i am Devolo which is top and you have perfect conditions on the power grid Hope it clears that out RJ 😀
This guy is a fucking legend. It's a pitty that in Portugal no one gives credit for his wonderfull credit. Mas eu dou carago! Parabéns Roberto!! Continua ! Grande abraço!
a few questions though first up, connection integrity. How is the latency? Dropped packets? Transfer rate? Anything specific for your electrical wiring or how it was setup? We actually have a weird setup where the kitchen and one bedroom has their own "main power switch" followed by the real main power switch for everything in the house including the bedroom and kitchen
+TheAntemon Hi, please check the reviews on the top right corner of this video for tests results. There are 3 different powerline adapters that i have tested. Regarding my setup, only one main power switch, please have in mind that power line will not pass trough any other switch so your bedroom with its own switch will not get the signal, unfortunately its the way these adapter work, there are some limitations and that is one of them. Hope it helps RJ
Excellent thank you! I am planning to buy a started kid without WIFI and than a further device that has WIFI. Will they work together or does the Starter Kid need to support WIFI as well?
+Tarek Mustafa Hey Tarek, you can buy a starter kit and then add wifi and so on. No worries. I have also tried to connect all these that i have and all of them work even from different brands Devolo, TP-Link and Zyxel hehe!! Which was nice to see 😀 RJ
+AllofUs Henrys Hey Henry, well im really happy with the Devolo 1200 Wifi AC, the best that i have had so far so that is the one that i suggest, but if you dont need wifi i would go for the Devolo Duo 550+ which is cheaper and delivers a great performance, very similar to the gigabit ones :) Hope it helps. RJ
Hi Roberto, quick question i have been using one of these for years now, for any reason would it start to work less? if that makes sense, it seems like i am only getting a couple of mb of internet now when i used to get way more, not sure if i need to update and buy a new one or the problem is with the internet provider? thank you! great video
Sir I know this kinda late but thx you for such a great info I want to try put this in my house cuz my house mostly build with bricks no eithernet wire at all. I will use 4g net sim trough router then I will expand to every room and also outside from back yard and front yard by using this adapter hopefully it work.
The way that you give & show tutorial and instructional information is highly appreciated no matter if we are beginners or professionals...Great work my friend ;)
roberto I am thinking of getting a powerline adapter but I was wondering if the powerline adapter increases wireless signal for phones, tablets etc? as well as any wired appliances.
Hi .just to know,I have brought a pair of TP Link power point adapter .I have all the connection and pairing -all is fine.Speed wise is not much of a diffrence.I have a ADSL2+ internet connection.I only get about 13 to 14 Mbps.I am curious to know whether the power line adapter is security safe cos' I do not want my next door or surrounding neighbours to get my signals. Thanks
Oh dont worry Ray, it will only go until the main "Mains Board" after that its not possible as the signal is destroyed on the "mains" On this video ruclips.net/video/RQUH8u0VFNM/видео.html i do show all my 5 circuit breakers and the signal passes on all of the inside but once it reaches the main one will not go outside. I have also tested this on the past with a neighbour on our older apartment and its a NO GO Sleep well as you are safe 😊 PS: The only way for your neighbour to get your signal is trough Wifi (router or Powerline) , but you should have a password or Mac address only access so you will be ok as well 👍
RJ
I know I might be a couple months (or even a year late) but I am planning on moving my PC into my room but my room has a very poor wifi connection. This is due to the fact that my router in downstairs on the other side of the house. If I connect this to my router, then use the other adapter and place it in my room and connect it through ethernet, will I get a fast connection or will it be a little bit slower due to the distance between my pc and the router?
Hi ROberto, great video, thanks! But what if I bought ANOTHER pair of the same kit (so now I have four items), will it still work? Will both kits of the new pair work, or just one of them (the receiving kit)? Will the setup change? Do you have some experience? Thanks before.. =VGE=
Hi Jorge. All these days I was looking for a solution to connect my minix U9-H android box to the router via RJ45 and I hope here it is. My modem is placed almost 10 ft away from the anroid box, but there is no way I can connect directly using network cable with out the cables exposed. I have TP link AC1200 wireless router which I use to connect to android box nowadays for a 30Mbps internet connection. So what I am trying to ask is that shall I consider getting power line plug or continue to use 5Ghz wireless in order to get buffer free streaming? (4k also). if yes which one will be a better option? I may upgrade to 100Mbps or higher later.
Hi Gino, in my opinion definately and i would suggest the Devolo 1200 Wifi AC check my latest tests here ruclips.net/video/RQUH8u0VFNM/видео.html Hope it helps RJ 👍
Which is more ideal for use with the upcoming PS4 Pro-Powerline Adapter or Wifi repeater? Will there be a dropoff in the the DL and upload speeds from both devices? Which is more easier to set-up?
I haven't tried any of them. Turns out the Wi-Fi signal at home (at the lower floor, my PS4 Pro's setup upstairs at the 2nd floor) was already sufficient. I can update and DL programs (RUclips, Twitch, Netflix, etc), and also watch OL vids.
can i use one model connected to the router and another type of model(different company), will they connect? I want three adapters but they come in doubles or singles.
Hey Julio, in the past i have tested devolo + TP-Link + Zyxel and all worked together 👍 The 1st kit you should purchase a 2x unit, 1 sender and 1 receiver after that only purchase 1 receiver as you need RJ
So i have a router in my living room and have a computer in my room that already accesses the wifi, but since my computer and the router is really far away and has a lot of walls in between, my wifi signal is not very strong and i get high ping on my games. would hooking up a powerline adapter to my room then connecting an ethernet cable to my pc make my signal stronger and make my games have lower ping? thanks
Hi Pudi, you will definately get much better results, take a look at the latest tests i have made when we moved to our new home here ruclips.net/video/RQUH8u0VFNM/видео.html and there is also more info using the Gigagate here The connection will be much higher and pings will be lower but never as good as a direct connection with Ethernet which you can use if you use the powerline adapter near your PC and plug in a cable :) RJ
How stable is the connection this way? Is it comparable in strength to plugging a computer directly - via ethernet - into a router, or is there a little bit of extra latency involved? This question is coming from someone who plans to use it for gaming.
I just purchased 1200 bps pa's to run with 200 bps ones I purchased a few years ago. I'm going to make 1 1200 be the initial power from the computer, then hook the other 1200 and 2 200s. will it be compatible??? and do all outlets in between get the same power?? or only where pa's are?? someone told me all outlets. I have had pa's a longtime, and swear by them. but never knew this was the case if true
Hey Rage :) yep you can use the 1200 with the 2x 200 and they will work but the max will be dictated by the slower adapter which is teh 200 All the Best RJ 👍
Hi Mark, yes it will but buy the one with the UK socket so that you dont need any socket adapter (everything that we place between will degrade a bit more the signal) The internet speed will remain the same, this is just a way of transmiting our internet acess trough our power lines RJ 👍
Jorge, I need a bit of help. I have no wifi upstairs in my room and I live in the UK. I understand I put one powerline to the router, but for the second powerline I want to put in my room will I have to use an Etintrenet cable AGAIN for the 2nd powerline? Or do I just plug it inside the socket and there will be wifi upstairs?
Hey my friend!! Yes you may use a Powerline to acomplish that and its the best option in my opinion. The 1st goes to the router than it will transmit internet signal to the 2nd, 3rd etc powerlines that you have and those if they have Wifi (Some dont have Wifi) will then give you wifi in your 2nd floor without any cables :) (i use it like that as well. Non the less you will have the option to connect the powerline on your room with a cable as well. Lets say that you place the powerline near the TV on your room, it will transmit wifi signal for your phones and tablets and if you have a smart tv you can connect a ethernet cable from the tv to the powerline adapter to get a faster connection for your tv (Hope that i could explain ) :) 👍
Roberto great videos. I am moving from a 1 bedroom apartment to a 2 bedroom apartment. I will have a fios internet connection. In the livingroom I will have a nvidia shield, TV,router and 1 tplink powerline adapter. In bedroom A I will have another nvidia shield,TV and powerline adapter line adapter. The question is for bedroom b where I want to connect a desktop to the internet do I need to connect another powerline adapter ethernet connection on computer to outline on wall then pair it with other powerlines
Hi Ginno, yes that is correct, you will need a 3rd one for that setup and in the future if you want to connect other via ethernet you will need other. If you can connect via wifi than 1 powerline will be enough for several devices but the signal is not as powerful as full ethernet speed 👍
What happens if your upstairs where my PS4 is & Sim Rig after plugging Ethernet cable in to booster from PS4 How do I synchronise them if it's upstairs & the one coming from router is downstairs can you hold sync button in separately?
Hehe! Great question and although it would be useful in some scenarios that is not possible. This technology will only work inside the range of the main circuit breaker so anything behind that will not work :) In the past i wanted to share part of my network with a neighbour (next apartment) and wasn't possible at all RJ 👍👍
I can see these powerline adapters giving more constant connection & ping over wifi but i saw many discussion online saying it dosen't last long for example after a few months the download speed will drop is that true?
Hi Armour, i have been using Powerline adapters since i was a teenager and the brands that i have used i can confirm that that statement is not true. Unless you have any change on your power grid there is no reason to have less speed. I have made extensive tests and i use them on a daily basis, and as such for someone that doesnt want to drill walls to pass wires this is the best solution available in my opinion 👍
Roberto Jorge Thx for your opinion, im looking foward to use it once i found out about it, its just there are some negative review online about it so its safer for me to ask an experienced person before buying. 👍
I have one router in my living room and connecting my Xbox via Ethernet wires. I want to connect it to my room and I have the same well connection how can I do this?
+Keith Cox Hey Keith!! Sorry to say that its not possible, i only became aware of this a few days after the review and honestly i was sad because these were the best i could find and should be available for everyone in the world. Unfortunately as far as i understood the voltage will not allow them to work. Hopefully Devolo can make some changes and deliver these to you guys on the other side of the ocean. Sorry RJ
Hi Greg, sure there is. The last ones that i tried with a US plug were from Zyxel, but you will also have from other brands, check them here: amzn.to/2fdhg5I All the Best RJ 👍
I have my ps4 in my room and my upload speed is 9.5Mbps and my upload speed is 2.6Mbps so if use the powerline what is the new speed i can be expecting?
Using a powerline will give you more or less the full performance that you would connecting anything directly to your router but you are limited to your power grid RJ 👍
Good video!Im looking to buy one but i don't know how much i need to spend.Could someone link me a device (i live in latvia) that would be the cheapest but still working option?I would be very thankful.
+Hencha Hi Hencha, i have never used those Brodband brand so i cant say if they have nice speeds or not. I have been using the devolo ones that are the best that i have had so far and you may check here amzn.to/1srdt6M and i also have used in the past TP-Link and Zyxel amzn.to/1srdDeA not so good but reliable so i would go for one of these 3 brands if possible Hope it helps RJ 😀
What if I just want to plug a single powerline adapter to the socket behind my computer and just connect one ethernet cable from my lone adapter to my computer?
Roberto Jorge I got a question I live in a apartment that it have WiFi on its on but I can use enther net cable on the enter net outlet would it work if I put a adapter there and then one on my counsel BC we don't get a router for our place but there's another way I was thinking do u think if I get a router plug it on the enther net wall and use the adapter to my router and then my console would you think it works? and sorry i ment they have the modem and router and I mean the landlord does in the offices so you think it would work?
+jason apple Hey Jason, all of them except Devolo, the Devolo which is the ones that i prefer at this moment only work in EU, but you have all others as TP-Link Zyxel etc All the Best RJ 😀
to me that sounds like those Powerline Adapters are simply acting like Ethernet Bridges.. one gets the Internet from the router and sends it wirelessly to the other Powerline Adapter. - - it's cheaper to buy a used router and set it as an Ethernet Bridge.
+goodman854 It can work!! The best suggestion that i could give is try to get any brand in a local store and test it out, then depending on the results either keep it or return for a refund (in case doesnt give you the results required) or return it to get a more powerful ones :) 50-60 years but if the wiring was done correctly it will work fine, i believe that not much has changed inside of the cabling (not sure im not expert in electrical installations) But without testing we cant know for sure. If you try would you please share your results with us? Im curious. Thanks!! RJ
+ubbgn Hopefully will work just fine!! It might even be better than mine even being older. Some times newer constructions are made in a rush and we can get worse quality than some older buildings :) I hope he can get his working!! RJ

Hehe!! Thanks and im glad it was useful!! 👍👍
This is a great video, not many youtubers are like this. I enjoyed this :)
So if im using this to game, i need two ethernet cables, one for the router and the other one for the game system?
Great explanation. Just a quick questions though...
1. What is the maximum range of your electrical outlet to get good connection?
2. Can I get good network speed if I connect 24 port switch on the outer side with 23 users?
3. Can I use it as an uplink to my network connections?
thanks for this! I am in Australia and we are all switching to NBN so I assume this would also work for a VOIP phone?
I think it should be mandatory in every country to have a Ethernet port every room
I support 100% that decision my friend hehe!! Actually since 2014-2015 we have that law here in Portugal but for older houses oh well :)
My connection speed is 150down 15 up.
I have my ps4 and pc hooked up to a router which will be connected to the powerline soon, but my question is will the router, that is connected to the powerline have the 150down en 15up speed or will there be a speed loss?

Hi, there is always a small hit on speed and this will depend on the powerline adapters, network cables, the power grid etc.

Thank you so much helped me a lot with the new home.
Hey Mike, i know what you mean hehe!!! This is a life saver when we dont have the network on our walls :)
All the Best

can i use these in Canada and on a ps4 game console?
+Silent Killa's21 As far as i know the Devolo unfortunately cannot be used in US, Canada because of the power which is different than in EU. RJ
Quick question! If I use one of these powerline adapters on my PS4, would I still be able to access the Internet from my phone and other devices?
Yes Bruce, that is the idea, to improve our signal and being able to connect more devices with more network signal
RJ 👍
Is full internet connection?
What happens if your upstairs where my PS4 is & Sim Rig after plugging Ethernet cable in to booster from PS4 How do I synchronise them if it's upstairs & the one coming from router is downstairs can you hold sync button in separately?
Very good explanation man thanks!
Glad it was helpful Artur.
Thanks

Is a modem necessary to set up this kind of network to be able to have WiFi?
How is about privacy and security data? Can your neighbors with the same system see your computer?
Hehe! Great question and although it would be useful in some scenarios that is not possible. This technology will only work inside the range of the main circuit breaker so anything behind that will not work :)
In the past i wanted to share part of my network with a neighbour (next apartment) and wasn't possible at all

Can you connect an access point from a power line adapter?
Armour Shooter Mine has started to drop after a couple of months it is probably just faulty though
I have one router in my living room and connecting my Xbox via Ethernet wires. I want to connect it to my room and I have the same well connection how can I do this?
You need a powerline mear the router to receive the internet and then a powerline in the other room to transmit the signal to your other device 👍
Great explanation, thank you
+KRAZ inabox (KrAz) Thank you!! :) RJ
can i use another switch box in the slave box?
Does it matter what part you plug it Ito the router because there is waps1 and 2 and 3 4 5 6
+DA Reese Nop :) you can mix them, no worries :)
RJ
Do all powerline kits come with 2 adapters?
Hey Matt, usually yes but there are single units because you may want to add a third one so be aware that the 1st pack you buy has 2 adapters :)
RJ 👍👍
+Roberto Jorge (Tech Reviews)
Alright thanks 💯
Matt Hayes
😀
Thank you for the great explanation :)
Robert can I use the devolo in the United States
+Keith Cox Hey Keith!! Sorry to say that its not possible, i only became aware of this a few days after the review and honestly i was sad because these were the best i could find and should be available for everyone in the world. Unfortunately as far as i understood the voltage will not allow them to work. Hopefully Devolo can make some changes and deliver these to you guys on the other side of the ocean. Sorry
RJ
Instead of plugging in your Ethernet cord into a device, can U plug it into a access point ?
you need 2 ethernet cables for this right?
Yep
Hi from New Orleans, is there anything like this that will work in USA.Thanks
Hi Greg, sure there is. The last ones that i tried with a US plug were from Zyxel, but you will also have from other brands, check them here: amzn.to/2fdhg5I

I have my ps4 in my room and my upload speed is 9.5Mbps and my upload speed is 2.6Mbps so if use the powerline what is the new speed i can be expecting?
Using a powerline will give you more or less the full performance that you would connecting anything directly to your router but you are limited to your power grid
RJ 👍
Good video!Im looking to buy one but i don't know how much i need to spend.Could someone link me a device (i live in latvia) that would be the cheapest but still working option?I would be very thankful.
are these good? www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B015E3MXKC?psc=1
+Hencha Hi Hencha, i have never used those Brodband brand so i cant say if they have nice speeds or not. I have been using the devolo ones that are the best that i have had so far and you may check here amzn.to/1srdt6M and i also have used in the past TP-Link and Zyxel amzn.to/1srdDeA not so good but reliable so i would go for one of these 3 brands if possible
Hope it helps
RJ 😀
What if I just want to plug a single powerline adapter to the socket behind my computer and just connect one ethernet cable from my lone adapter to my computer?
It will not work like that. You will need 1 adapter to receive the signal and 1 adapter (at least) to send the signal to
RJ 👍
+Roberto Jorge (Tech Reviews) I will never understand how these work...
Roberto Jorge I got a question I live in a apartment that it have WiFi on its on but I can use enther net cable on the enter net outlet would it work if I put a adapter there and then one on my counsel BC we don't get a router for our place but there's another way I was thinking do u think if I get a router plug it on the enther net wall and use the adapter to my router and then my console would you think it works? and sorry i ment they have the modem and router and I mean the landlord does in the offices so you think it would work?
good vid buddy
+dean richards Hey Dean!! Thanks but what you doing here?? You already know all this hehe!! RJ

No, I Watched A Video And The Person Said That It's Not Reccomended :)
Alex Wong Nope
Comprei um Comtrend PowerGrid 902 mas a o led de status fica sempre vermelho, e a rede nunca é identificada :s
Humm, não conheço essa marca Pedro, nem nunca a usei logo não faço ideia do que poderá estar a acontecer ai. Sorry
RJ
So it doesnt help your mobile phone?? They dont wifi aswell??
This works in the US right?
+jason apple Hey Jason, all of them except Devolo, the Devolo which is the ones that i prefer at this moment only work in EU, but you have all others as TP-Link Zyxel etc
All the Best
RJ 😀
Ideal for ps4 connections
Ideal for anything hehe!!!
Who is the link of the product?
+NINO1475 Hi Nino, check out the right top corner of the video for the individual reviews of the powerlines. RJ
I can really fast gaming on my ps4. Tnx to powerline
What brand adapter do you use?
Thank you
Can I usd only one pes... My one pes is lost
Gud Explanation
to me that sounds like those Powerline Adapters are simply acting like Ethernet Bridges.. one gets the Internet from the router and sends it wirelessly to the other Powerline Adapter. - - it's cheaper to buy a used router and set it as an Ethernet Bridge.
it's using the electrical wiring of your house to send the Ethernet signals
well 3:10
Wifi?
+GamingDice Depends on the model, mine is the Devolo 1200 Wifi AC it has Wifi, search on youtube and you will see my review and tests
RJ
10/10 I lost 10 pound running up and down stairs triyin to work this piece of shit
My house is like 50-60 years old.
+goodman854
That can be a problem.
ubbgn
You don't think the powerline adapter would work?
RJ
