  • This is the moment an evil predator is caught in the act.
During a two week period in September of 2018, multiple women would be found dead on the streets of Laredo, Texas.
An evil serial killer was murdering women after luring them into his custody.
Police initally struggled to find any solid leads but when a victim manages to escape, detectives would identify their suspect, however would they be able to catch him before he could strike again?
Let's take a deep dive into the case to answer that very question.

By then she'd been forced to stand out exposed like that for several minutes.
Soon after she sensibly positions herself behind his open door and he mildly scolds her for it. Clearly the information on his computer screen- which she surely doesn't give a damn about- is more important than her dignity.

When she said "don't stare at me sir" the cop showed his inexperience and thought process. She meant don't stare at me because she was trying to hide behind the column. She didn't want him staring at her so David wouldn't notice her there if he came back and that's also why she keeps telling him "he had a gun sir." You can see the moment he realizes this could be the guy who killed the others. He doesn't put her in the car to finally be compassionate. He put her in there because he knew he would get the kudos for getting the name and address of the guy. You can hear it in his voice, more urgency. I respect cops. The good ones. And I'm sure he's a good man but he needs way more training and more training on how to engage a victim. And she is a victim. She is not the sum of her mistakes. And Mama if you read this... You're brave you're brilliant and you saved so many lives from that night forward. ❤

Yeah. I worked alongside law enforcement for two years in central and south Texas, and we always held DPS troopers with a very high level of respect and competence, but after this video my jaw has hit the floor. I am utterly in shock. I just texted my friend that is a federal agent out of the area and asked him what the f*** were these DPS troopers doing in the body cam footage. His reply is: ''LOL yeah bro the way they handled this on the ground was really bad. We've all seen the videos. Everyone in the FBI CBP ICE Rangers, deputies, local PD, were all talking about them. I will call you later tonight when I leave the office and tell you about what happened. You're not going to believe it!'' ..... omg I can't wait for when he calls. It must be really extreme!!

100%. NEVER ever ignore that feeling in your gut. I learned to ALWAYS trust it when I was just 11 yrs old. I'd gotten sick & left school early one day, but had to walk because my dad was @ work and moms car in the shop. There was a bridge over the freeway that I had to walk across and then my house was just 3 doors down on the opposite side of the road. As soon as I reached the bridge I noticed a man in a green ball cap @ the opposite end walking towards me. This intense feeling immediately came over me that I was in danger and needed to keep away from him, but traffic kept coming so I couldn't cross the road to get away. Sure enough, when we met near the middle he suddenly stepped directly in front of me, grabbed my arm and said, "you're coming with me". I told him no and then he said, "I've got a knife, you're coming with me", while at the same time turning his hand around to reveal a knife he'd been hiding cupped in his palm with the tip of the blade against his middle finger and the handle under the cuff of his shirt sleeve. I started yelling at him that my house was just on the other end of the bridge, my DAD was outside waiting for me and all I had to do was scream and he'd come. I thought if I said it was my dad it would seem more threatening to him. Thankfully, it worked. He released my arm and said, "Okay, okay I was just f*ck*ng with you" and took off running. I ran home in tears totally panicked and freaked out. My mom immediately called police and an officer arrived within minutes. I don't think it was more than 15 minutes from the time it happened to the time the officer put out the mans description over the radio. They searched for him for hours and picked me up 4 times to take me to locations where they'd stopped men who matched his description, but unfortunately, they never found him. That was 43 yrs ago and the memories are just as vivid now as they were then. I've hoped and prayed this degenerate monster never succeeded at harming a child or anyone else, but I've always felt that he probably did.

I think the biggest mistake this cop makes is that he didn't mention to the PD that this case might be related to the previous murders. He only said (an assault on a female and that's it).. @@maanmohammad8459 I was mostly concerned with the part that this trooper was already aware that this suspect the girl ran away from was most likely the serial killer they were looking for.
Even though the girl mentioned about suspect saying he was the last one to see the previous murdered girl (Melissa) alive. But he didn't mention anything about it at all while calling for more units to be sent to their location.
So he put both himself and the girl in danger just by staying there, out in the open and trying to question her without putting the girl and himself in any cover (especially in the first part of the video asking her to stay on left side of the vehicle) where the guy could've easily had a chance to possibly kill both of them if he had a rifle.
I don't know... maybe I'm overthinking this but, even his order of questioning was not professional. Why not first ask description of the attacker? What he is wearing? etc., so that he can immediately be alert for a specific looking guy matching that description (he asked those details way later in the conversation).

He could tho have provided her with a blanket or his jacket to cover her up. Yes, he should just leave her alone in the car while he goes in to get a pack of cigarettes so the serial killer gets a second chance at kidnapping her. Ohh, bring her into the store you say and risk starting a gunfight getting the cashier and all the customers involved too? Totally worth getting her a cigarette and that totally would've calmed her down after having a gun in her face, definitely worth the risk. Move AWAY from the bulletproof car and enter a building where the only shelter is the flimsy shelves that won't even stop bullets, genius. No need to stay put where you have a vantage point and a view of the entire parking lot to make sure the white truck doesn't come back, why would you bother keeping a lookout when you can just get her cigarettes instead? Y'all are tactical geniuses.🙄

@@laurarouvinen9059 Cops don't have a jacket and to give her any clothes he'd have to take off his bulletproof vest and obscure his vision for a few seconds, pretty stupid move to do when there's supposedly an armed serial killer hanging out nearby. Same with buying cigarettes, it's not about the money but if you walk in the store you can no longer watch the parking lot to make sure the white truck doesn't come back and you also risk starting a firefight in the gas station and getting all the customers and the clerk involved in it. The only cover you have in the gas station is the flimsy shelves and a few bags of chips which obviously wouldn't stop bullets meanwhile the cop car is literally a mobile bulletproof shelter. There's an armed killer nearby, should you take cover in the bulletproof fortress where you have a good view of the entire parking lot or go into the building with multiple civilians and paper thin walls as cover??

Sex workers live on the fringes of society, so I can’t fault either party. Kinda like how drug dealers don’t file a police report when someone robs them. It (the illegality) makes them bigger, easier targets. I’m not saying it’s right (I’m totally in favor of legalizing sex work), but that’s the way it is. Many DAs wouldn’t be willing to call a prostitute to the stand to testify, since being in an illegal profession hurts their credibility. By the way, 99.9% of DAs wouldn’t press charges for you admitting to a lesser crime (such as prostitution) when the cops are investigating a murder, the worst of the worst in terms of crime.

But yes he should’ve shown more compassion but as far as what the cop thinks, she is completely safe there is no reason someone would come and try to get her back, unless they knew they could easily kill the officer. Which doesn’t happen a lot in the US and North America. So it’s not a rational fear to him.

@@01chittock, you must be living in a dream world. Do you know how dangerous the world is? First of, the police officer doesn't know who she is and whether she is telling the truth. She could just apporoach him and shoot him. Or, what if she hops into the patrol car and drive it away? I have seen that happen. If that happends, people would criticize the police for not being careful. What compassion are you referring to specifically. What compassion should that police officer should have shown? Looks like he followed all the protocols, he attempted to calm her down multiple times, listened to her story, encourage her to file a police report, and he called his chain of command, which eventually led to the capture of the suspect. Watching that search had me at the edge of my bed at 1am! I kept thinking... he's gonna be lying in the back of a truck! Finally got one right! Guess it didn't have to happen that way if they approached differently.

What a dreadful copper. Future warning to the victimised, don't approach this cop, doesn't matter what she does, she isn't the criminal here. Jerk.

The first cop was absolutely pathetic in every aspect, I was tearing my hair out just listening to his indifference!!!! - That general laissez-faire moral is what lead the other cops to not be in any hurry to go to the killers house
