The man explained the main features & stuff that can be done in general perfectly, just about the info you need to get interested, the people that say they want to know how it works? well read the damn instructions, ThankYou John & Sweetwater
This guy explained everything very well. He knows the product. But I feel as though these companies just throw some awkward engineer from their development team in front of a camera to explain the product.
So roughly $1,500 for a hard to use 16 channel mixer, if you want more channels you have to buy the digital snake, where are the midas pres for the other 16 ch? This is somewhat like the IX16 ipad mixer, $200 cheaper than the Mackie without roaming. I have used the X32, good sound alot to learn coming from presonus, buttons stop working or stick after not alot of use. Only need digital snake to make things easy to run.
I don't understand only one thing in all Behringer Digital Mixers - no digital I/O (any kind - S/PDIF, coaxial or AES/EBU). Many studio monitors are digital input and this connection is very useful.
can you use this as a studio recording interface? If so is it recommended to use it this way or possibly a bad idea? I know they are primarily for live sound but I was just curious if it could also be used in studio?
You definitely can, quite frankly the XR18, which is basically the stripped down little brother of this, sounds great too; as a mixer and an interface both.
Hello, Finos! Once the X32 is off, it will not pass any audio. You can save a scene to automatically recall any saved settings when powering on the mixer, though. Thanks for the interest! Spunde, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1732, Spunde@Sweetwater.com
Question.. on the back I see there are 6 aux ins and 6 aux outs along with 6 outs, the stereo main and I see a monitor left and right next to the TalkBack input. Can those monitor left tand right be a separate assignable stereo out? Or can the front headphone out be assigned to that monitor to be another stereo out?
Hello, Christopher! The monitor outputs and the headphone output are fixed to the main mix (or solo’d tracks). That said, output 7 and 8 are not fixed to the main mix as the “main output” text above them suggests. Those outputs can be reassigned as busses to feed additional monitors. Thanks for the interest! Hey, Lee! Jose from Sweetwater, here. Great question! There are a few different ways of controlling the effects, but if you would like to use a MIDI pedal it would require some in depth routing. I'd love to speak with you more on the details, so feel free to give me a shout at my contact information below. Thanks for the interest! Jose Gonzalez, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1786, jose_gonzalez@sweetwater.com
Hello, bday55! You can use the X32 as an interface and feed 32 ch back to your computer. Alternatively you can mulitrack to an SD card using the Xlive expansion card: shorturl.at/cLzoJ Give us a shout and we can discuss in more depth! Thanks for the interest! I was just about to order an X32 Rack because I thought it was an X32 in three rack spaces. But it looks like (sounds like) I have to buy another piece of gear because it actually only has 16 xLR inputs and 8 XLR outputs. Ugg. OK, so what is the name of the exact piece of gear I'll now have to buy so that I can have 32 XLR inputs and 16 XLR outputs?I just want it all in one rack. Thank you.
Hi What’s the difference between the 6 - 1/4” jacks on the Aux Out, the 8 - XLR Outs (underneath the aux out) and the L+R Monitor ?? Can I potentially use them all (16 in total) as in ear mixes ?? Or is it only the 6 Aux Outs I can use as IEM ??
Hello! Jose from Sweetwater, here. Great question! The X32 Rack is a very flexible unit, and depending on how you set the routing, you would be able to use all of these outputs as individual in-ear mixes. I've used the X32 ecosystem for years and I'd love to speak with you more on the details, so feel free to give me a shout at my contact information below. Thanks for the interest! Jose Gonzalez, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext.
someone would use this with their daw in a live performance setting. they would have their guitars, bass, and drum mics running in to this as well as their laptop with the backing tracks and clicks running in to this, and run out from this machine in to the monitors at the venue and be able to control all their volumes and individual eq mixes on stage.
Cameron Reeve The Core still has constrols on the front of it... I never mentioned the X AIR, but I imagine, in that situation, you'd go for the amp to turn down the volume in an emergency. If reliability was an issue for you, you'd use a laptop and an Ethernet cable. If memory serves, the X AIR has an ethernet port just to be safe.

Overall, the X series rack mixers are amazing, but the IOS app and the Android app are different, and a little difficult. I have been able to find no explanation of this, or tutorials from Behringer on how to use the damn app. Fortunately, there are some individuals that have some good tutorials...but little from the manufacturer. Frustrating.
