  • Watch Tristan from School of Synthesis make a track using only the incredible Nina Synth in morph mode!
It’s exciting to see some truly compelling synthesis innovation coming out of School of Synthesis' home town Melbourne Australia. In this video, Tristan explores the expressive sounds of the Melbourne Instruments NINA synth with its morphing functionality and hybrid analog/digital oscillator section. It’s also extremely helpful from an educational / sound design perspective to see exactly how each parameter is changing as a sound morphs from one layer to another thanks to NINA’s trademark motorised knobs.

Gosh, what a perfect start to Monday morning, listening to these fantastic sounds. Thanks!
Not a chep synth, but it doesn't sound like one either 💎

great video, thanks! may I ask what stand you are using (keyboard stand I mean), it looks very handy! and what keyboard? (arturia?)

Hey thank you. It's an Arturia MiniLab and it's on a Quiklok 2 Tier keyboard stand.

I would said "Must be afforded to be heard" and then I see my first visions of owning this for 10 years and the some motors quit functioning ?
But it sounds really really good if I am honest
Also amazing demo. You should do the demo video if they bring out a new one

I expect the motors to do better than regular pots as there no physical contact, just magnetic fields, and it's sealed so will not get the dirty jitters.
And much less wear compared to their designed purpose as Drone motors

@@CoolColJ Arena these motors turning some Potentiometer ? Or does the motor have an integrated potentiometer? I am not an expert. I just thought that with 32 (or 33 if the DATA knob is also motorized) motors , statistically the chances are high at least one will fail. However I have no knowledge or scientific proof. Just predicting based on what I have experienced with devices in my lifetime. But it does not matter anyway. I cant afford this synth either way

      @@saardean4481 quoting -
Our design is based on a brushless drone motor with our own ultra-hires optical sensor.
The brushless motor and contactless optical sensor are extremely robust with a lifetime rating in excess of 50 million cycles, which is 500 times more than conventional pots.

I'll wait for the Behringer clone ;-) Just kidding. Not really. They would have no reason to clone this. This comment is purely a dig on big "B"

This synth is much too expensive

We have one here at samplify and relative to our other synths, the tech involved and the hardware itself it makes total sense to me but yes of course it ain't cheap. What proper analogue synth is? We adore our Nina. Big ups to Melbourne Instruments.
