    Hey,
It looks like your machine is a west cost rebuild and, most if not all of them have been upgraded to rigid tapping. (If it did not come from the factory with it)
I'm very excited to see what you make with it!

Thanks! I know the machine was rebuilt in ‘01, but how do you know if it’s a west coast rebuild?

Here in Southern California and looking at buying my first
CNC Milling Center. It’s a 2014 vintage Fadal . This is the first version of
Fadals built in Taiwan after the Fadal Family sold the company and closed down manufacturing
in California. Has anyone any experience with this machine? Is it a good
    machine? Thanks for any answers!

Had luck with the faults ? What were the symptoms ? These machines carry the usual time bombs called capacitor fails... So the yellow capacitors on the boards are slowly losing values and making stuff misbehave.... we had it at the start with the Spindle board - 1995 built VMC4020.... the RESET circuit works with a CAP of course / next to the red small button on the board/ When CAP loses the capacity .. that board comes alive faster before the CNC computer can..... Then CNC will not get the HELLO message from the card. In fact it gets it way before.... So ... time to replace all those shitty yellow caps ( costs maybe 20cents / piece)
