    When it won't chamber the 1st round just pushed the magazine release button and release the pressure and then it will slam shut on its own and then just push that mag back up, you'll have to do that a few times with full mags then after that it's all good, Nuthen but butter..

      It is primarily due to friction made worse by virtue of being new. As it has broken in it has smoothed up and is generally no longer an issue.

    If you’re seeing load angle being flat, you’re loading the magazines incorrectly. If you load them properly, the upward angle will be consistent throughout. This is a common issue with new CM33 owners just loading up their pistol as if it were a double stack 9mm. This is a rim fire pistol, rim being the catch word. If you don’t load the magazine correctly, it will malfunction.
    Though, few CM33s are available, the few that end up at the local range have owners griping about how much of a piece of junk it is, how Kel-Tec is junk, blah blah blah. We tell them, especially with the CM33 how to properly load their magazines and they always respond, “I did it that way”, when that apparently didn’t. We reload the magazines correctly and the weapons fire flawlessly.
    Don’t even get me started on the KSG owners. There is a video on you tube that shows how to properly load your CM33 magazines. Watch it. Read your owners manuals, understand how your weapon functions and quit blaming your new weapon until you’ve reasonably put it through its paces (unless it’s a new KS7, which DO have first gen issues). Good luck. 👍🏻

    I love the accuracy beause of the balance in the strange design.
    The trigger pull is short and crisp like a real competition target pistol should have and maybe a 2 and a half pound pull.
    The action is smooth.
    The front and rear shghts belong on a shot gun. They are so big you can drive a truck through them. This pistol is easily capible of pin point shots but these shghts are just huge for the task.
    The magazines I absolutely can't stand. Becaue of "Rim Lock," as it is described in the manuel, I got maybe two mags to shoot out of 7 or 8 loads. The darn thing has to be loaded perfectly or it will rim lock. I was shootiung his preferred CCI Mini mags too and jams. It is a design flaw that I think should have been cured in testing and redesign. Take for instance the Ruger Mark IV. It's a single stack but the grip angle is more and i believe that would have cured a lot of the feed issues and made rim lock less of a chance. Special loading instructions for a magazine is nuts if you ask me.
    I won't get rid of it because I also bought it for the threaded barrel and I will just have to concentrate on pampering the loading process. smh.

  • @LVNAndy
    @LVNAndy 4 года назад +6

    The owners manual states that you only load the mag with up to 25 rounds for the first 5 loads. That might of solved a few of your problems.

    • @larrrs3
      @larrrs3 3 года назад +1

      It also says the last round in the magazine has to be on the left hand side so when he only put 32 rounds he left the last round on the right hand side in the gun will not function that way when you start shooting it

  • @larrrs3
    @larrrs3 3 года назад +4

    Kel-tec also tells you to put the last round in other words the first round to come out of the magazine has to be on the left hand side of the magazine so when you short loaded the magazine with 32 rounds you did not follow the instructions and the gun will Jam. Go to make it simple for the people that are simple always leave an odd number of rounds in the magazine and you'll be fine.

      You mean KelTek, right?
      CalTech is the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, California. They literally are NASA's go-to rocket scientists since CalTech's Jet Propulsion Laboratory began working with NASA in the 1950s and 60s to land men on the moon.

    Thanks for the video. Tried the M22 ammo after getting my CP33 and watching your video the day before i picked it up. Had to many fail to fire for my liking. Went back to CCI mini mags and found the 1st round will chamber 99% of the time and if i make sure the 1st round is angled upward and not flat which i noticed will happen in the CP33 mag, it will chamber the 1st round all the time. Try it and let me know what results you get. Thanks

      I will have to pay more attention on that first round to see if it is angling correctly the next time I take it out. Regarding the M22, I have had great luck with it in mine however 22 rimfires can be picky on ammo selection to a point, and the reality is that M22 is still a "bulk" ammo. Its hard to go wrong with CCI mini mags.

      I had the exact same problem with mine with that first bullet not going into the tube all the way but as I kept using this Gun, it still did it once in a while so I went back to the user guide and to the page that said how to load this gun. I followed exactly how they said to start with a closed bolt and then insert the mag then pull back the charging handle and let it fly forward and this seemed to work much better for me. I also found out that you have to keep the magazine Clean because there is no feed ramp on the barrel and the tip of the mag is the feed ramp! They recommend that you should frequently clean these mags or you will have feeding problems! I also purchased a auto loader from LUDEX and It works great and I even bought another mag and installed that 17 round extension, which makes it a 50 round mag. After several more nRange sessions, No More Problems and I only use CCI Mini mags 40 grain round nose copper plated ammo! Good Luck with your CP33, you will love it!

    I guess I'm using cheap ammo? I used cci out of the box. I'm shooting Norma now. I disassembled and completely cleaned every tiny bit of the gun. It seems to be "after buying a speed loader as well" to be getting better. Is this finicky little gun just breaking in or are these guns just unreliable? I did contact Kel Tec and I have a great warranty at the store I bought from. Kel Tec offered free shipping. I have no way to return them, so I'm stuck there. I know this was a very ambitious move to make a pistol that operates like a rifle. Any loading ,cleaning, advice would be great. The speed loader makes a gorgeous stack, but the cp33 just to me seems very unreliable. I find a ton of shredded lead in the breach after one mag. Am I messing this up or is this gun just.... junk?

    • @CraigsGunChannel
      @CraigsGunChannel  3 года назад

      It sounds like you may have one that needs some work. But keep in mind the reality of what this pistol is. It is actually quite an engineering feat to design and produce a 22LR gun that can feed rounds with such large capacity magazines. There is a reason that most 22 pistols have a maximum of 10 rounds. Once you go over that you are entering the realm of reliability problems. Even Glock stayed away from going over the 10 round limit on their 22 pistol they recently released. With all of that said, it does sound like you need to have yours looked at.

    • @CraigsGunChannel

      I am not aware of any particular changes. I think the issue is more on how the magazine is initially inserted and seated, so it's more of a training issue as opposed to a real fault on the pistol. Jamming 33 rounds into a quad stacked magazine is an impressive feat, so having to be careful in handling is just one of the tradeoffs.

    • @CraigsGunChannel
      @CraigsGunChannel  3 года назад

      While not technically scientifically accurate, I would note that during the run of the test the ammunition that performed well did so at the beginning, and at the end of the test. This was after the ammo types that performed poorly. Had it been performance issues resulting solely from the firearm being dirty then it should have caused issues at the end with any ammo. I should also point out that these results have remained consistent in the time following this test. So while not a true blinded sample with control test, it does very well from a directional standpoint. Also to point out, these results are generalizations only. Some pistols will perform different with different ammo types. This is especially true with 22LR.
