Buying a UAE Tourist SIM Card in Dubai 2024

Are you travelling to the UAE, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi soon? I recently went on a 14-day trip, and here is my guide to choosing which prepaid sim card I picked for the UAE from Dubai.
I will look at the free du 1GB SIM card you will get on arrival and its limitations. I will also look at the prepaid plans for the three major mobile providers in the UAE: du, Etisalat, and Virgin Mobile.
I will help you decide which plan to choose, where to buy it, and what drawbacks to look out for. Unlimited mobile internet is now possible in the UAE, but with excellent Wi-Fi in the major malls, free of charge, you would probably not need as much data.
I run an Ookla® internet speed test on Etisalat 5G and the Wi-Fi at Dubai Airport.

I've got the Du sim but it's really expensive so am I allowed to purchase a second sim from another network.?

Yes you can. What did not work was to swap the 'free' Du SIM for another 'free' Du SIM in the same phone, once the first free period expired.
