I feel like this is one of those designs that _could_ work as its own thing if it was less of a blatant meshing of parts. Like keep the silhouette and general idea, but make it more distinct instead of quite literally slamming two hull parts together.

@@RetroBadgerGaming when I first was using NavPoints in battle, I got comboed by disruptor fire, which usually led to my demise. On another note, if the AI is Cloak Happy, using NavPoint/Orbit Planet can force the AI to decloak as it reacts to a distant target
I think you won as the Federation ship because of a very unfortunate cloaking accident where they cloaked, dropped their shields just to be hit with about 4 Quantum torpedoes.
The Invincible looks really good mixing three ships together and the design works very well. However besides its looks the ship has some problems. Without the Akira's weapons pod the dorsal portion of the ship has only a single phaser array and the ventral section has 3 phaser arrays. While the number of quantum torpedoes that be fired is impressive, the phaser arrays are severely lacking. Adding two phaser arrays along the two catamarans and two small phaser arrays on the sovereigns warp nacelles would greatly increase dorsal firepower and close that gap in its dorsal firing arc. Add phaser arrays on the ventral nacelles of the sovereigns hull with a array on the bottom of each warp nacelle and the phaser arrays give true 360 degree firing. Also the ship seems to be pretty slow considering it has at minimum 6 impulse engines and looks like two additional ones under the catamarans. that many impulse engines this ship should be cooking on speed but seems no faster than a sovereign with it's two massive impulse engines.
3:00 What would be the point if they don't include the torpedo pod of the Akira-class? I would test this design against the Sovereign-class to see how much of an improvement it really is.
Oof. That's a bit kluged. The concept is actually quite interesting of having the Akira's pylons flow into the nacelles with the secondary hull pylons. However, you'd have to get into the vertices and new textures.
STO isnt canon. You are destroying dozens of borg ships with your starter Miranda Class in the very first mission. The movie makers and show runners make the ships as strong as they need to be for telling the story. Voyager did amazing when it really shouldnt for example. They even fought a tactical borg cube. lol. Major plot armor. I think the Valdores were intended to be "strong" and modern "top of the line" ships in the movie. They were there to show how strong the Scimitar really was. Taking those two ships out in a few minutes and almost totally disabling Enterprise (Shinzon did not want to destroy the Enterprise initially).
@Gentleman...Driver and there's t6 versions also, hell they've got a t6 tos Connie lol....everything is weak or strong bases off what the story calls for.
Looks like it just has too much mass slowing down it's turn rate... and then on top of that it loses out on what makes both ships good, for instance the maneuverability and power of the Sovereign Class and the carrier flight deck and omni-directrional torpedo rollbar of the Akira Class. But don't get me wrong visually I do like the design just needs a bit of a conceptual rethink, to really nail down its purpose beyond just hybrid for the sake of it.
If the secondary hull or “engineering section” of the Akira and sovereign flowed smoothly into each other instead of an obvious mash up it’d look good but I can’t get past that.
