I'm pretty convinced that bacterian is modeled after pro wrestler bruiser brody, they look and act so much alike, bruiser brody was huge in the 80s and spent time in japan in 85', and was on all kinds of wrestling magazine covers over there... only thing different is the smelly thing, I guess toriyama added his own little comedic element to it
