Sir does the medical college count our attendance for the time we spend abroad doing research electives? I know some colleges who are very strict in maintaining 75% attendance so leaving for 3 months would be hard, that's why I'm asking
You probably need to get into a good med school in India like KMC Manipal, KMC Mangalore, AIIMS (only AIIMS Delhi). I do not know other institutions which send their students for research electives. College administration sucks in India. But if you are in KMC or AIIMS Delhi then its a childs play for you to get research electives and USCE too during internship period.

SIR, agar mein orthpedic surgery me match hona chahatu hu usmle mein then mujhe orthopaedics mein hii research karna padega tabhi CV boost hoga?? kyuki 2nd year mein agar mein USA mein research electives mein jana chahu then toh mujhe konsi field mein karna ha wo bhi decide karna padega mere interest jisme ha.. par mujhe toh 2nd year mein ortho ya plastic ya derma k bare mein kuch nhi pata hga. Then how to decide in 2nd year in which field i wanna pursue when i am not sure in which field i am interested in residency or match in the us? plzzzz replyy. i wanna opt for surgical competitive branch residency in usa so i have to do at least 1 year research electives in total in different institutes in that field. so plzz help me i am currently in 1st year
Go to a lab which does clinical or basic research in Ortho. You can read and gain knowledge on pretty much anything even if it’s not in your current syllabus. Read papers.
Can we apply for research with no previous experience of research and have only basic level Knowledge which already in our syllabus for research of my interest???
Yes but you will have to do some reading obviously. In general it’s easier to apply from such a position when you are a student as people assume you will learn on the job.
