    I'm a woman and have been married for 19 years. No intention to divorce. Financially I could do it, the house is on my name, I have a job and the kids are old enough to spend most time of the day on their own.
    I could also divorce, because my husband has health issues and doesn't make much money.
    Why do I NOT divorce?
    1) I love him
    2) he is a loving and caring man
    3) he respects me
    4) he's a good father
    5) he's good to the people I love
    6) he's honest and loyal

    I just went through a divorce. I couldn't watch this video last year. This is very helpful.

    Most of the reasons i have read and seen from a huge mama community is that because the man was cheating, not helping in the home and raising children, addiction and/or abusive towards family. I don't know about reasons 1-3 as have almost never heard of those from women.

    Number one is not a reason, but gives a possibility to divorce or not to get married at all. No woman divorces a good, loving man just because she has money.
    About the negative emotions... the negative emotions come along the unloving or abusive man. Women do not have those emotions alone, that is why they leave.
    Number 3 and 4 👌

    "they are wired/predisposed to feel more negative emotions..."
    I disagree. Women in North America feel their emotions and are more aware of their emotions and the emotions of others. Men in North America aren't given the same attention growing up to develop this emotional intelligence and empathy. They often aren't asked to, and if they figure it out, then they are likely to excel more in management positions. Leadership requires a high EQ (emotional quotient.)
    That's all for now ✌️

    So where is this all going? If there is less benefit for women then are all women going to be single in a few years? Should i avoid relationships now that I'm divorced? Is it even worth it?

      @@michaelboulware1240 I don’t think you avoid relationships. Marriage is beneficial for both people when you select a partner who has shared values, common interests, connection, etc. I was just trying to push back in this video on the rhetoric out there about women just using men and divorcing and therefore men shouldn’t get married.

      I wish I had seen your content sooner. I lost connection with my wife and I let her do too much in the house. Divorce sucks. It hurts like hell but I'm becoming a better man. I will be watching and sharing more of your content. Thanks

    But isn't number 2 a bad reason for divorce, though?

    • @RelationShots
      @RelationShots  3 месяца назад +2

      I don’t necessarily think any of the 4 are a good reason for divorce

  • @kenthil
    @kenthil 3 месяца назад +2

    Because they are financially incentivized to do so. No fault divorce + a family/divorce court system that is HEAVILY biased against men in the overwhelming majority of places leads to women with the ability to be unfaithful/abusive, or just get bored and lose "the feels", and still walk with alimony, and half of everything the man owns, and child support (if children are present).
    Marriage is hard, often thankless work to keep going. Love is a choice that needs to be made daily. Divorce is easy, and you get paid if you're the wife in the vast majority of instances. It's honestly a no-brainer.

    • @kirsikka3752
      @kirsikka3752 3 месяца назад

      So the woman owns nothing if she can take half? Not very common scenario.
      If my husband made the marriage hard work and suffering, I would leave, because only with the change of his attitude it would not be so hard work but enjoyable.

    • @jesssc402
      @jesssc402 3 месяца назад +1

      Pretty sure a woman who’s in a good marriage would not think about the court system being favorable for her. A lot of men don’t have the courage to initiate even though both are miserable in the marriage 🤷🏻‍♀️

      @@jesssc402 It's often because men stand to lose FAR more in divorce than women do. Access to their kids, alimony, child support, the house, half of what they have worked for their entire lives...
