- Ever found yourself trying to use one of these glass cooktop hobs and you can't figure out how to turn it on? This video will show you the basics of how to turn it on and off and control the temperature.

I was starving in my new apartment. Your Chanel is more helpful than google😂
Thank you... I think I need to make more "how to" videos...
We are indeed travelling and in an apartment as you said in the video. Other videos were not as helpful! Wow!
Thanks, you save our breakfast plan.
You're welcome! That's what I was hoping to do!
Lifesaver! Traveling, like you said, and the Airbnb has a similar stove by Teka. Thank you so much for taking your time to help out strangers! 🙏🏼
You're welcome! I think these Teka hobs are standard-issue in vacation rentals now. This was the second time I encountered one and I couldn't even make coffee on the first day till I did the research. So glad I can help... looks like over 25,000 people so far!!
Thank you! I am in Hungary and got hungry at 3 am. I was freaking out because I didn’t know how to turn it off. I thought the H means high. Lol! And can’t message my air bnb host at this time 😂 so you are my hero!
Thank you, and you're welcome! I don't know why they designed these stoves without a way to toggle on a "help" screen. But inevitably, landlords install them in short-term rental units, where almost no one has ever used one before!! Glad to help you!
I was so confused by the H thank you sm
You're welcome! Enjoy your stay.
Thanks! My son just landed in Ecuador and didn’t have a clue on ho to use the stovetop. I forwarded him your video.
You're welcome! I hope this video helps your son, and wish I was in Ecuador, too!
In Spain staring at this stove top trying to make coffee. You saved me.
You're welcome! Enjoy your visit!
So happy i.foumd this channel. Taught me how to unlock. Thank you
You're welcome!
Thank you! Why the Airbnb hosts couldn’t explain this during the walkthrough is beyond me. You’re a lifesaver.
Glad to help! Yeah, a lot of hosts don't leave information about how to use the appliances and other necessities in a rental. One time I stayed in a rental with one of those "Nespresso"-like coffeemakers that make coffee with a disposable capsule. Only it was an "off" brand, a total unknown coffeemaker with its own proprietary capsules, and the owner left only three capsules for us in the kitchen. We had no idea where to find more of them and the local stores didn't sell them. Other capsules didn't fit (we tried a different capsule) ... info like this is essential!
@@attitune wow! That sound incredible. The verdict is still out for me on hotel vs Airbnb.
@@jerseygurlinmaryland I use Booking-dot-com with mostly good experiences. But a possible solution in the future is to have more hybrid-hotel accommodations. Hotel-type facilities with a staff person on site but the rooms have kitchenette facilities so you could eat, make coffee, etc. And put the short-term rentals in actual residential buildings back into the housing market for local people again.
I'm in mexico at a bmb and couldn't figure this out, thank you!!
You're welcome! These cook tops seem to be standard at vacation rentals but not in long-term housing, which is why I think most of us don't know how to use them. Glad I could help!
Haha me too! Thanks for this I just couldn’t figure out why the power button wasn’t working, gotta hold it
You Lifesaver 😍, I am in Budapest and just wanted to cook some pasta as I was peckish…..1 hour later,Il light headed, Hangry & many you tube videos teasing me…showing the shiny new hob …then cut to boiling soup .Your Viideo was my savior, , This one was made by Candy , but identical. Thank you Thank You Thank You ❤❤❤
You're welcome, and I'm glad it helped! Enjoy your stay in Budapest -- it's a fantastic city!
Ohh boyyy… thank you for RUclipsrs. ☺️☺️We were struggling trying to figure out that stovetop. Thank you
You are so welcome! Enjoy your holiday!
thank you, i spent half hour trying to figure out how to start it :)
You're welcome. I'm happy to help!
Can’t thank you enough for this! I was at my wits end and about to throw my groceries away!!!! 🙏🏾
You're welcome!
Saves me a trip to the reception. ❤
Hahaha, that’s me right now in a serviced apartment in Barcelona, the lock was on and do you think I could work it out? 😂😂😂😂
LIFESAVER, thankyou !!
You're welcome! It's not easy to unlock these things and I don't understand why landlords don't leave instructions.
Thank youuuu 🙏 i was hungry as hell trying to work this thing
Glad to help! Hope it's all working out for you now!
Lifesaver for me too...arrived to apartment late and could not get it to work...think it was locked but thanks to you i did get it going! Muchas Gracias from Australian travelling in Seville Spain
You're welcome! Hope you're enjoying Seville! This video was recorded in an apartment in Madrid, by the way. But I've encountered similar cooktops in France. With no instructions, of course. Glad to help!
Very helpful thank you!
You're welcome!
Thank you very much! Just arrived at an AirBnB at 3am and need to heat some water.
You're welcome! Enjoy your visit!
Thaaaaank ypuuuuuuuu sooo much!! I spent 3 days without eating.. and then.. your video!!!👊🤓
You're welcome -- I couldn't even boil water to make coffee at first. That's why I tracked down the user manual and made this video. Happy to help!

You're welcome!
Thank you!
Thanks! In Thailand and had no idea what I was doing
You're welcome! These cooktops are not intuitive and there's usually no manual...
Thank you soo much!!! In hotel atm, and very hungry 😂
You're welcome! Have a nice stay!
Also, if it still doesn't work, check in a cabinet below to make sure the stove is plugged in and the little switch next to the plug is set to the "on" position.
Your video was a lifesaver….thank you!
You're welcome! Enjoy your stay!
Thanks very much had one in our apartment in Portugal and just couldn't make head or tail of it we came across your video after 2hrs were able to make breakfast thanks you so very much >>>come on family it's breakup time.
You're welcome. A lot of short-term rentals have these cooking devices, but never include a user manual.
Just got to playa del Carmen and you just saved us so much stress haha!
Lifesaver! Thank you!!!!!
Thank you, was already frustrated before I thought of checking RUclips.

You're welcome!
Found this very helpful
Thank you so much!
You're welcome! I'm glad it helped you!
Thank you. Was just in that exact situation 🙏
You're welcome! The funny thing is that if you try to figure it out intuitively and do it in the wrong sequence, it somehow doesn't work as expected. Glad I could help!
Thank you! Very helpful ☺️
You're welcome! You don't realize how important the basics are (like turning on a stove) till you suddenly can't do it...
Thank you! I was struggling to get it to boil water.
Lifesaver!
Thanks, useful info
Your video is super helpful. After you mentioned where the power button I noticed it. Now I’m able to start cooking lol. You are awesome!!!
Thank you! I appreciate the feedback! So glad I could help you!

You're welcome. Glad it helped!
Thank you so much
Thank you very much, very clear. May I use it for my guidebook?
Thanks! And yes, you may use it in your guidebook. I assume it's to help renters use the facilities?
Thanks for saving us 😭
You are so welcome! Glad I could help!
So helpful thank youuuu

You're welcome!
Thank you this thing had me really confused lol
you're welcome!
Thank you!!!
You're welcome!
🥰✨ thank you!
You're welcome! You know, a friend of mine just bought a new kitchen appliance and some of them don't come with user guides anymore. Worse, the user guides aren't available online for free... you have to pay for them. So RUclips will probably become even more of a resource for "how to use this everyday device" type info...
thanks so much
Glad to help!
Thank you
Thank u soo much
you're welcome!
THANK YOUUUU!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
You're welcome!
Thanks
Thanks for the video. I was able to follow the steps you provided, however the lights kept blinking and the burners never got hot. Suggestions?
Unfortunately, I don't know. I made this video while I was staying in an apartment in Spain. But I'm not there anymore, so I can't troubleshoot it in person. I found a link to a user guide online, though. Maybe this will help? www.manualslib.com/products/Teka-Vt-Tc-2p-3706807.html
Thanks❤❤
Graaaaaciassss...
Thank you for the video.
I am on holiday, I switched on the hob but I press the button again and it doesn't go off.
I wish you had completed the video by switching it off again. 🤷
Do you mean how to lock the cooktop when you're finished with it? I showed how to turn the heat down (the H button) to "0" and the H light should go off when it's cooled off enough to touch. But, I made this video while I was on a holiday and I don't have access to the cooktop anymore to verify. There's a copy of the user manual online here: www.manua.ls/teka/vt-tc-2p1/manual
@@attitune No problem, I have sorted it now.
It was the red 'on' light that I couldn't switch off.
Another video suggested holding the lock button for 5 seconds to switch the appliance completely off, and that worked.
I’m trying to use a small coffee maker on mine and it’s not working! I think it’s because it doesn’t weigh enough to make the stove realize i’m cooking..
I'm not sure if weight is an issue, though maybe it is. Maybe it goes out after a few minutes for safety reasons. By now you've probably tested that same burner with something bigger and heavier to see if it works (to prove your theory).
@@attitune My theory worked, I got an induction plate
@@sagelyden Great solution. And a good pointer for anyone else using one of these cooktops -- something small like a Moka pot might not work because it's not detected.
Mine turns on and I can choose the number for heat but then it just blinks and does not heat up. What can I do?
Hi -- I'm not in an apartment anymore that has one of these cooktops to help with troubleshooting, but here's the manual: www.manualslib.com/products/Teka-Vt-Tc-2p-3706807.html,
How to UNLOCK? If you accidentally touched the LOCK button?
I think if you press the lock button again and hold it until you hear a buzzer, it will turn off. Let me know if that works!
It works. Thank you
Pani girneke bad ?
“Start doing something within 10 secs or it’s not going to work for you “…..
Start doing WHAT ????!!
Start pressing buttons and making selections on the console or I think the device turns itself off again. It's been a long time since I was in this apartment, so I can't repeat my steps to clarify. Plus, I didn't script what I said while I made this video, so every word wasn't carefully planned. Sorry if it wasn't clear.
How do you keep the fucking stove on
Thank you
