Pro Tips for the ancient city:
- wool blocks and carpets are your friends
- 2 skulk sensors with a trapdoor inbetween, will distract the warden forever
- skulk is best mined with a hoe, for every skulk block you get 1XP, so get into digging it out!
Skulk sensors and skulk shirekers are also best mined with a hoe

@@gtexosniper600 Still really costly though. Consider he didn't cheese, it, it was more one-on-one than anything so the golden apple cost was more than it needed to be

@@ycsawampfpycs2007 You are indeed correct, I dont think he'll ever risk his world like that again
only the naturally spawned shriekers spawn wardens so remember to keep one untouched to build the warden farm. Also, since shiekers have a global cooldown for spawning wardens, if you have a warden farm running(with a chunk loader), that would work as a warden switch. Meaning you could explore all other ancient cities without spawning any wardens in your location.
Then we can build a scull xp farm

I dug up an entire stronghold right down to bedrock. When I was done it was one of the most satisfying things I had never done in Minecraft. I'm not much of a builder. So clearing out every Rock and every dirt every sand and every gravel around that stronghold and squaring out the hole was really satisfying. And the best part it was a complete stronghold with no cut off or broken hallways into caves. If you have the time. And it will take a long time to do. I suggest you try it. It was a long journey but the destination was well worth it. It was more satisfying than emptying out an ocean Monument.
Just saw this video in my recommended. Amazing dedication to this project. I personally find Ancient cities to be one of my favorite structures currently. It's amazing to see them so exposed.
Note: you can't spawn a warden if the shrieker was placed by a player, only naturally generated ones are capable of spawning the warden.
Fun fact: The souls on a shrieker placed by a player are darker than the souls on a naturally generated shrieker (to show the ones placed by you can't summon a warden because the souls are weaker or something like that)
how about shriekers that are generated by dropping xp on sculks, which spreads the sculk, generating the shrieker
how did pewdiepie summon a warden by placing a shreiker in his base??
@@sweetmelon3365 notice how his video was made WAYYY before 1.19 came out? Theres this thing called "snapshots" that are basically testing versions.
@@fj094t58qjf those shriekers are the weaker version as well. Only naturally generated ones will summon the warden, which means that if you break all the shriekers in a deep dark, the warden can never spawn there again

That's true yes. So the only warden farms you can make are in the deep dark
the souls inside it look different so you can tell if it will or not spawn the warden

Careful! Leave at least one naturally generated Shrieker! Shriekers that are placed by players don't summon the Warden!
I was sad when you lost your other world but am absolutely loving the new hardcore series. I would love to be named after a villager in the kingdom. Also you should make a tree farm shaped like a saw mill.
You should try to capture a warden in the ancient city and turn it into a museum type thing.

I feel like a dwarven city would be cool, it’s got the aesthetic and “mechanical” parts. You could incorporate gold into the build. As well as having access to the caves as mines. Could be a cool addition, and even gives you chance to use blocks in a build you probably never would. You could have just unearthed a ancient city built by dwarfs thousands of years ago. Now there guardians have run amuck and caused ruin to it. Anyway whatever you decide good luck!

Hey Paul, I can't wait to see what you make the Ancient City into because your ideas are always the best and turn out great. And I would like to be named after a frog if you could and I would like it to be named "Ann the Man"
I'm sure you probably know, or at least there's probably other comments about it, but just in case... Don't mine all the shriekers, the warden won't spawn with player placed shriekers, so if you want to make a farm later, leave some in place.
Also, use the diamond hoe in the chest to mine the shulk, it'll go much faster (well, I guess tnt is the fastest, but also more destructive).

if you want to make a warden farm use a catalist + exp farm to get fresh shreickers.

You gotta finish levelling it out, of course. Just flatten everything around all of the buildings. lol
You could also make a mob farmer and spread shulk over the whole city. Maybe even partially up the walls that you dug out? Could look cool.
Fun fact mobs don't spawn in deep dark (other than warden ) and he mined out. Most of the natural shriekers so the perimeter can't spawn any mobs underground .

I didn't know that they had restricted mobs in the deep... but... Couldn't you theoretically create a mob farm just kind of floating way above the now-exposed Ancient City, and just have the mobs spawn up there and then fall to their deaths, spreading the shulk? lol
@@bronsoncarder2491 lol u could do it but it won't be worth it then creating a perimeter was done mainly because more mobs spawn when u have a lower y value. And sculk spreading can be done anywhere as long as u place one sculk catalyst after all

Hey Paul, there is a higher chance of finding an ancient city under Stoney or snowy peaks. Love your vids!
I'm pretty sure it's about the same, Ancient Cities just spawn the most under mountainous areas.

Hey Paul, just a tip:
A warden won't be summoned if the shrieker isn't naturally generated so you might want to keep some of the preexisting skulk shriekers. If you want to build a warden farm, that is.
Would’ve never even though this would be possible in hardcore, seeing as the warden is insanely powerful and it would take so long, but you managed and it’s impressive man
Also, I heard you name mobs after subs… maybe, quite possibly, you could name a frog, well, Phrog? 😳
You can actually easily kill a warden with some potions and good enchantements but without good protections potions you can also easily die from it

I absolutely love this series and I'd love to have the allay named "Ducky" for me. I'd have to say my favorite secret is the Birthday Song hidden advancement/achievement- also for future reference shriekers you pick up and move don't summon the warden, just the naturally spawned ones

I’ve been really looking forward to the allay. It would be really cool if one was named after me and I can help you while your building, but it’s ok if not. Keep up the spicy content. Always enjoy the new additions to the op world
the new challenge could be to massively terraform the land around the city to make it look like a naturally exposed city, down the bottom of a valley.
If I were to have something named after me I would want to be named after an Iron Golem, that way I could help protect the kingdom like a true knight.

Hi paul love your hardcore vids,i have one advice for you:if you forgot to take arrows you can enchant your bow to infinity and you can take just one arrow and use it at infinity times ,i’ll be happy to be your sword in your kingdom or pickaxe

Fun fact! If you walk on wool or carpet it doesn’t wake or spawn the warden. That’s why they’re throughout the city.
