    The Curb Alert is meant to be installed to help prevent damage to your front bumper/splitter. Its not meant to help with parallel parking. I have one and had it professionally installed on my Challenger and it works great. It was especially helpful when the car was new to me before I got the feel of how close I was to a curb without scraping the lower air deflector.

    Definitely agree that the bumper bully looks awful, I certainly wouldn't drive around with one. But I think the entire purpose of that thing is to store it in the trunk and then take it out once you're parked. And in that case, I think it works great. You never have to see it while your driving and covers the entire bumper. Better than the plate cover in all aspects in my opinion, covers more area and you don't have to have it on while driving. If I lived in a city I'd probably buy one.

    @SAMarcus Год назад +1

    OK... that first group of things, totally agree. Storage for the side bumpers, the rubber LP guard is useful... the flap thing just looks like your mechanic forgot to remove the fender guard before you drove off.
    I thought that second LP guard was a towing hook point at first and I was like, WTF? you can't tow on the LP like that!
    That 3rd set, for the price of the "curb detector" you could buy the reverse radar AND a decent backup camera system and maybe even have it professionally installed. (a BETTER backup camera than the one in the 5th set, like say one that's ALWAYS connected)
    That parking wall things... once upon a time, there was this awesome invention called a tennis ball on a string used for the same thing. (LOL, and I typed that right before the sponsor part, so before he said the same thing)

    • @kikixchannel
      @kikixchannel Год назад +3

      @@ChrisDaVillian I agree. Not difficult to realize that if it's always on and therefore you don't want to leave your car tripping it, then just don't leave your car tripping it.
      In the first place, sensors like this never were meant to tell you where to park. Their purpose was always to tell you when you are getting too close to an obstacle which is two different things.
      And if they actually would bother reading the box, they'd find out that it's actually supposed to tell you when you are IN the garage, aka. when you entered it sufficiently to close so as to leave maximum space in front of you. Because you can always put things in front and still leave the garage, but drive up to a wall and you're wasting the entire space behind the car.
      So you close the garage door, place them right in front and you stop when they entering the garage and they stop beeping. There, maximum space efficiency.

    I can’t lie this was probably on of their best ads yet. That genuinely made want to be in that car

    You guys installed the Brandmotion Curb Alert wrong.
    It's supposed to install on the front bumper to detect curbs in front of you and protect your bumper on lower vehicles.

    That Bumper Bully is quite a big deal in Boston. And yes, it looks like more than half of the city has car diapers…
    For that garage sensor, just go to Dick’s Sporting Goods, get a can of tennis balls and hang one so it bumps your windshield.

    Learned parallel parking on a 1997 Nissan Serena. When I started driving, those aids were already commonplace in new cars but I'm not from a wealthy family so I had to learn the old way, on my grandma's old-ass minivan. And now I'm the designated driver whenever we rent out a car or van because I can handle just about any old piece of junk that's thrown my way

    I gotta disagree on the bumper bully...I live in NYC and the only reason to use it is to stop OTHERS from hitting you. I will happily show you other cars parked on my block vs. mine...I also don't drive around with it out, you have to remember to put it back in your trunk =)

    I think the curb sensor one is supposed to go in the front facing forward so you don't scrape your front bumper lip on a curb when pulling into a parking space.

    I can confirm that the front bumper shock works, I rammed my buddy’s cars over a mile at 3am because his car died and we didn’t have AAA or straps to two him and no damage to my car talk about bumper cars lol
