So cool! I'm a local arborist, and I've always been curious about the history of El Palo Alto and its modern management. I'll share this with my colleagues!

Fascinating history, thank you for this. May El Palo Alto survive for another thousand years.

The lesson of this documentary? To save something worthwhile takes a team effort and consistent care. Look around you at the people you know. Is there someone there just waiting to be saved - step up to the plate. As a society we will have to pull together to save ourselves. Or that tree will be standing there when the human race is gone. Greetings from Africa.

Man stop being that way. Any reason? How can one be jaded at 46? I am 67 - wish i could be 46 again. I used to cynical - I converted that to logical. Did you know that no on sits on a chair? We actually hover above it due to quantum forces? For the same reason we never physically touch anything? One cannot be jaded in such a universe? If you spend the next 21 years in that state you will be stuffed at 67. I am not preaching I am beseeching. As to you being a prick - there is no way if you appreciated this video. BTW are those stamps on your pic? I am 15 years behind on my collection.

Would love to know the original height of El Palo Alto. I believe it was over 200 ft. What happened to the other 100 feet. Was it just the fall of the second trunk? Also originally there was just El Palo Alto. When did the rest of the grove first appear? Were they planted or were they natural? And will El Palo Alto survive HSR, assuming it is ever built?

The Grove of companion Redwood surrounding El Palo Alto, are not natural, sprouts, but were introduced in the 1980’s. The idea was originally from George Hood,-to add adjacent nurse trees surrounding to shade and cool the soil, mingle root systems, and moderate other above ground conditions.

A great production and a nice story. You mentioned about seeds from El Palo Alto going into space - they did! Here's the story: ruclips.net/video/iDcEd1PFOwI/видео.html
