Great video. Love the quality, humor and energy, same with the families one. Targi is our favourite couples game, it is a two player only game. Worker placement with a little twist getting resources where your Targi meeples intersect. Use the resources to buy tribes for trade routes, build up your tribe 3x4 tableau before 16 rounds. Quite tense and a little take that but lotsa fun.
Thank you so much! Targi looks like a lot of fun (we both love worker placement games) and a little "take that!" is never a bad thing as far as I'm concerned (and as long as I'm not on the receiving end of it). 😂
This is probably my favorite top 10 boardgame video, I’ve watched so many but I rarely see a good quick example of the game. You really helped me decide if I wanted the game or not
Just watched this and was genuinely surprised that this was your first video after looking at your pinned comment. Well done!. My wife and I love two player games, but we're not the "geeky" type and tend to steer more towards card games. A couple of our favorite things to play are: The Bears and the Bees, Phase 10 and Rummikub. Would love a video about 2 player games that are not based in sci fi or fantasy, etc. From your list, I think we'll try azul, jaipur and blokus duo. Thanks again!
Thank you so much! I think you'll love those games! Also, I know it's been a long time since we released our first (only) couple of videos, but we're actively working on our next video with the aim of making even more going forward, so please stick around. 😄
Love this video! 7 Wonders duel is certainly a favourite and we've liked Welcome To... (which is probably my all-time favourite roll & write). Cascadia is amazing too! As my wife and I are from India we have some games from local publishers that we really like as well! Panchayat, Parikrama and Lakshadweep are really unique and fun games! :D
I have been watching tons of channels lately and truly enjoyed yours. I was completely left wanting more content from you both. Your energy, flow and humor was very much relate able. Definitely made me want to have a game night with you guys. Please continue to add more to your channel with your exact formula of success it’s great.
Awesome! Thank you so much. We will definitely be making more content going forward. Is there anything specific you'd like to see in terms of a topic, or just board game content in general?
Thank you. It's been a crazy year with moving houses, starting new jobs, and kids being home from school/daycare, but we've got plenty more in store. Stay tuned and thanks again for your comment. 😀
I make a 2nd entry: The card game Dragonheart, rereleased as Opale, is a nice couple game with cards. Lost Cities is usually always in the top 10 couple games... also using cards. Tried Mandala? It is really worth checking out. The Kiesling game Miyabi, he also made Azul, is a nice tile-game for 2-4 players, it is a pleasant game for couples also. I personally also think Ingenious is really great for couples, 2-4 players.
We play 7 wonders duel and looove it! We play it without guild cards in third age, we found it better that way. What about you? Thanks for all other awesome suggestions.
my wife and I are own all 16 expansions to Ascension and all expansions to Star Realms, and I can honestly tell you we prefer Shards of Infinity any day, specially with it's 3 expansions mixed in, which don't even make the drawing deck all that bigger, they just perfect the game even more and give you more mechanisms variety if you so choose to implement them. but seriously shards of infinity is the Masterpiece of deck-building head-to-head games ;) (... and I don't work for the developer, but it is worth mentioning that the kickstarter with all the expansions in a single box plus some new stuff is about to launch :D ... )
What a great video! You are fun to watch and the extra content you put in must be a lot of work, but makes your channel distinctive and amazing! I'm liking and subscribing! Our favorite games for couples include Splendor, Wingspan, and Lords of Waterdeep, and we've also tried Endeavor: Age of Sail and Scythe: Rise of Fenris which are admittedly more expensive but really, really good! Thanks for the launch of a great new stream!
You taking the time to write this comment means so much. Thank you! Yes, it is time consuming, but also more fun. :) Also, thanks for all your recommendations! We play quite a few of those as well. We actually held off with Wingspan because we had heard some mixed reviews from people we trust. But when we finally played it we couldn't stop. SUCH A GREAT GAME! :)
Great List. I play most board games with my SO as well so when I started my mini library with a lot of 2 player games. A lot of the games mentioned here are games I started off with as well, so great list. I would substitute Azul for Azul Stained Glass of Sintra if you think you're more than just a casual gamer. I also think Patchwork or even the newest New York Zoo is awesome. We love Schotten Totten/Battle Line, Hive Pocket, Star Wars Rebellion, Concordia Venus (expands to 5, and you maybe need to get a few map packs for a tighter 2 player game - Corsica and Creta are amazing at 2, but Venus comes with a modified Ionian map that is very tight as well for 2 players), Fox in the Forest, Forbidden Desert, Paperback, Mr. Jack Pocket, Port Royal, Silver and Gold, Lost Cities, Onitama... Lots of good games for 2.
Hi Samarth and thanks for the recommendations. We actually preferred the original over Stained Glass of Sintra, but I guess that's a matter of personal preference. We have played Patchwork a lot, though, and absolutely love it. Onitama is great too. Which of the games you mentioned are your favorite?
@@MrMrsBoardGame I personally enjoy Fox in the Forest a lot. I love The Crew and other Trick Taking games that have that puzzle-y nature to them. To be completely honest, Fox in the Forest is just a pack of cards, and it can also be substituted by a deck of playing cards as long as you maybe have a reference open on the phone. This is especially useful when you're out and about and don't have any games with you. If you can find a deck of cards, you can play this and several other games. But I enjoy the game's artwork and it is quite easy to carry around. A deck of just 36 cards and 2 reference cards. You can leave out the tokens and just make do with a phone notebook app or something to help keep a track of scores, that is if you want extreme portability. I also love Hive Pocket. It comes with two of the expansions (Ladybug and Mosquito). It is such a simple game but there is so much depth. Part of the depth comes from playing on an imaginary, open board of hexes. So many possible moves, and it's purely skill, and no luck, very much like chess. I think a game can easily go up to an hour, so it will definitely help passing time if you're bored. Also the Bakelite pieces that come with it are just amazing, don't have to worry about spilling food or drink, or getting them wet in humid or wet conditions. I think the perfect 2 player game to take camping.
Takenoko gets a lot of love from us. Also, Mice & Mystics. Neither are strictly 2P games but we enjoyed them. Also, I just subscribed so keep making videos.
Thank you so much, Philip. We're glad you enjoyed it! Have you played any of these games before? We're editing our second video right now, so stay tuned. 😊

Such a fun presentation of all those great games! :D Well done! As for the games themselves, JOTL is too bloated for my loved one (so it's a solo game for me) and Arkham Horror too sprawly for my own taste, but the other ones are, for me as well, awesome games for two that I do enjoy a lot with my wife (or wish to try one day like Star Realms or 5 minute dungeon). For two player only games, I personnally would have also warmly recommended: Naga Raja, Targi, Skulk Hollow, Cairn, Mr Jack/Le Fantôme de l'Opéra, Kero, Ice Team... and here are some multiplayer games that are superb with only two players: Five Tribes, Seasons, Santorini, War Chest, Queendomino... As a bonus, the 2 player only games that I am eager to play soon: Sobek 2 players, Robin of Locksley, Nicodemus, Jekyll vs Hyde... Can't wait to geld hold of those! ^^
Thank you so much! You mentioned some really fun looking games: Kero looks incredible and Ice Team's concept is hilarious. 😂 We've tried a few of the other games you mentioned (Santorini may even feature in a future video, being a family favorite), but I guess the problem is always the same: So many exciting games, not enough time to play them! 😃 Thanks again for your comment.

A lot of wives don't. I (Kristine) do, but there are so many of my friends who don't. That is why it's just so great that there seems to be games for EVERYONE now! :)
Hi, there's this new card game called "Lagim Card Game". It is a Filipino folklore-inspired game composed of villain deck, lagim cards, lakas cards, and hiwaga cards.
Who usually wins when you play Jaipur? I think Kristine winning disproportionately often plays a part in her liking it as much as she does. 😂 We love Patchwork too. Such a chill game.
Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! There are a lot of really good, simple games out there. I could recommend Jaipur if it's just the two of you. If you want to include more people, perhaps she would like Splendor or Diamant. Both are a little simpler than Jaipur but a lot of fun. In fact, we just introduced Splendor to Kristine's parents yesterday. They don't play a lot of games but we ended up playing 4 games in a row! It's also great for just 2 players.
Great video! You've got a new subscriber all the way from Jordan 👋. Would love to see a Top 10 Solo games, but please oh pretty please... no games with dice rolling! 😊
Hey! So glad you're here! We have a few videos in the pipes and will definitely consider a Top 10 solo games video as well. What are your favorite board games? 😀
@@MrMrsBoardGame Can't wait! I'm just getting started into this amazing hobby; some of my favorite games are usually the classics: Stratego, Cluedo Codenames, Love Letter 2nd Edition (I think the extra cards Spy, and Chancellor make the game more balanced and give more options), Splendor, Wavelength, Dixit, Fugitive, Onitama. And on the slightly heavier side I have: The Bloody Inn, Awkward Guests, Pandemic, Onirim, and Inkognito. I also should mention some of the things I stay away from in games, like too much luck, especially from dice rolling, D&D (not my thing at all), and games with a ton of card reading. This is just my personal taste in games :)
Brilliant. We haven't tried Wavelength yet, but are dying to try it out... especially now with things opening up a little. It seems like such a fun party game. Awkward Guests looks like Cluedo with a bit of Resistance sprinkled in. I'm not sure I'm a fan of the artwork but it seems like a really fun game. 😀
Such a good game! And I'm still amazed at how nice and easy the learning curve is, because the full game is truly massive! Did any of the other games pique your interest?

In fact, we just introduced Splendor to Kristine's parents yesterday. They don't play a lot of games but we ended up playing 4 games in a row! It's also great for just 2 players.
You guys are so funny!! Can you please open a board game bnb so we can book a holiday and play board games with you!!! 😂🙌🏼💛💛💛
This sounds like an excellent idea! 😂
My favorite 2 player games are Space Base, Wingspan, & Dominion.
We love wingspan. Binni is a bit of a bird-nut as well, so that doesn't hurt. Definitely one of our favorites.
@@MrMrsBoardGame Neat!
Good vid
Thanks, Spencer.
oh my you two are infectious : D
Jaws of the Lion has me very intrigued!
👁️👄👁️
Same. That'll have to be the next addition to our meager board game collection.
Such a good game! And I'm still amazed at how nice and easy the learning curve is, because the full game is truly massive!
Did any of the other games pique your interest?
You remind me of Boxed Meeples Channel
That's a good thing!
Star Realms is the GOAT. my gf is totally addicted to it, and she has absolutely zero interest in the sci-fi aesthetic!
It's good, isn't it!? And you can take it anywhere! 😀
I see arkham, i like
It's good, right?
If you haven’t tried it, Lost Cities is our favorite 2 player game
We haven't tried it but are very excited to. Always looking for new games to try out. 😀
Rivals For Catan
Haven't tried it (yet)... :)
Thanks for your suggestion.
