I love the old store walk though for Pick and Shovel...and to imagine what it was like in simpler times, and items were displayed on a shelf instead of in a glass counters! I think that was when they called stores like this 'Purveyors.' People always talk about the VERMONT COUNTRY STORE...and how busloads of tourist people come to stores like that to shop. Thanx for posting it!
Hey... another great explore... lots of small towns in Vermont... I think Montpelier is the smallest State capitol in the US.. population wise around 7,500.. be looking forward to that video.. 😎👍
WOW!! Thanks. Best visit of Pick and Shovel I’ve ever seen including my own. I sound like I’m from Newport but I’m from Magog at the end of the lake in Quebec. What you don’t realize is the intimacy between the Canadian and American folks around there. By the way you weren’t even close on the pronunciation of Memphremagog. There’s a monster in there. Memphre of course.
One of the great failures in my life was thinking I didn’t need to pick up one of those shirts. I often think I should call them and see if I can special order one. I may try to do that today actually!
@@IanMartinExploration LOL. You and your videos could be good for business! I too, looked to see if they had a website (they do) but it doesn't look like you can order stuff from them without already knowing what you want/what they have in particular. Although its probably the old fashioned way, where you can call and actually get a PERSON for customer service to write up an order and mail it out.
I live about 5 miles from the pick and shovel and trust me that place is booming every day. Most locals would rather go there than Walmart. The staff is amazing and you never need to look for help finding something they put the big box stores to shame. It’s a great place.
I live in Virginia Beach, VA. I LOVED the original Pottery in Williamsburg. I still haven't been to the new one yet. Locals say it's NOTHING like the original. Can you do video of it if you ever come down here???
The new pottery isn’t even worth the effort unfortunately. It’s SO boring and absolutely nothing at all like the old one. It’s so sad to see. It just looks like a boring run of the mill strip mall. I wish I had the ability to do a video on the original one though, that would be great. Thanks so much for watching!

Love it! Thank you for sharing! 🥤
Hey man! I love the video. Coming from that area, it’s great to see The Pick and Shovel brought to attention. Such an amazing store
Nice! I’m glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching! Seriously such an amazing store.

Home town of good ole Newport VT
What a cool place! I would much rather shop there than Wal-Mart.
That store seems very similar to the Renys stores we have in Maine.
They definitely makes me want to come check out Renys
I was thinking the same thing
I absolutely miss the ice cream at pick and shovel (pick n shove it lol)
And miss hoagies also!!!
How many "I'd tap that" shirts did you end up buying?

Calling all newport residents ✋
It's like Walmart but not a chain. I wonder how they make money with so much inventory. No way 90% ever gets bought right?
