Almost note for note. You can almost hear Gilmour and Wright saying goodbye to each other in those last few moments. RIP genius.
At the end you can hear the best
@@jeffreywolff329 all emotion.
The heart and soul of Pink Floyd for the very last time.. it really gets to me. Sublime
It breaks my heart every time
Absolutely one of my favorite all time performances😘❤️🇺🇦🇬🇪❤️
If this song isn't played at my funeral, I don't attend
i mean, you will attend it anyways...
David Gilmour should be everyone’s favourite guitar player
He is
Excellent. Agreed!
It has been said that an electric guitar would want David Gilmour for Christmas:).
@@CaptainNemo1701 Haha! Yes!
He's close ✌️🙂🎸
The most emotional version of Echoes of all time. And the last section. When Gilmour and Wright do the magic...
When David and Richard start talking to each other with the music in the final part, it brings tears to my eyes every time.
So good to hear others feel this is their favorite part too!
This is my favorite version of this song!! I never thought I would hear a better version than Pompeii, but here it is!!
I’m already in tears, and it’s only the first solo!
I have listened to this so many times, it didn’t distract me at all when these guys talked over it! I loved their enthusiasm and joy at listening to it! An excellent send off for Rick, he brought a lot more to it than the early versions! You can tell he was really enjoying and loving it!
A lot of people call the middle part “whale songs”, but I think at the time it was made, no one had really discovered whale songs! I always thought it was a seagull screaming! Or maybe the Albatross mentioned in the song. I have no idea what an Albatross sounds like!! Don’t watch the original video if you have epilepsy!!
This is THE GREATEST COLLABORATIVE SONG EVER WRITTEN 🙏 Long live Richard Wright, he’s alive & well in all our hearts & has achieved immortality 🙏
David Gilmour & Rick Wright = Soul Brothers, beautiful powerful & electrifying performance & to this day it’s a bit emotional knowing Rick is no longer with us
I cry every time I watch this performance 😪
Probably the most beautiful thing you will ever hear as far as music goes. It is an absolute trip. Thank god for Pink Floyd
This song is 50 years old this year and as far as a piece of music I put it up there with Mozart's Requiem or Beethoven's 9th Symphony! I really believe those pieces of music will still be listen to 500 a thousand years from now! I'm glad so many people are still discovering Pink Floyd! I say that because I discovered them in 1971 Before Dark Side of the Moon. People would ask me who my favorite group or band was back in those days and I'd say Pink Floyd and they would say "who"? I feel Vindicated knowing that I knew of their genius before they were popular!!
Just thinking the same.
Stravinsky Rite of Spring
Chopin Heroic Polonaise
Scriabin Vers La Flame
Miles Davis Kind of Blue
Ornette Coleman Lonely Woman
Rush 2112
The Cure Faith.
So many unique voices with something to say that's worth listening to.
Same story here. I use to turn the lights off and scare my little brother with this.
Utterly amazing version of this staple Floydian song. Gilmour and Wright talking to each other via their instruments, in perfect unity at their most sublime and timeless genius. Tears are flooding, and I'm a 64 y.o. hardass. This version brings out the most emotion for me because it was the last time David and Richard played Echoes. Guy Pratt and Jon Carin, along with Phil Manzenera and Steve DeStanislao on stage with them just makes for even more perfection.
Good selection dudes, David and Richard last performance together, unforgettable!
The finale is a love story between Gilmour's guitar and Wright's keyboard
Clearly this was a transcendent mystical experience. Gilmour and Wright were joined in mind and spirit and, as you say, the Universe joined in to elevate this performance to be so much more than ‘just a song’. Those unearthly voices at the end (and elsewhere) reminded me of the voices heard in 2001 A Space Odyssey, and had the same effect on me. You guys were all in and in synch on this one. Great job!
I thought the same thing at the end. Imagine that they created this 50 years ago without modern electronics. Someone once said you don’t need drugs, only PF.
soulful, timeless masterpiece for all time....
the last 5 min, an epic musical goodbye as I cry.
It was for that last movement when the guitar and the keyboards answered and answered back and forth that David Gilmour said he could not play it with anyone else.
Thank you gentelmen
RIP Richard Wright…. The heart & soul of Pink Floyd 😢I’m not sure anyone realizes how difficult it was to play this song live, probably the Greatest song ever to played live, this is an extremely rare performance & needs to be cherished 🙏
I appreciate that you guys feel the same about David Gilmour as I do. When you know, you know.
Also, as much as I love the stuff from Pompeii, I think it was really cool that he played Gdansk. Poland got so f*cked in the 20th century, being stuck between Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union--so many atrocities, so many boots on their necks.
Well, when I was a kid in the 80's, Poland was still a Soviet satellite state, still "behind the iron curtain". And a dock worker named Lech Walesa, who worked right there where that concert is happening--this guy ended up leading a worker's movement, and in the end, Poland got out from under the oppressive thumb of the Soviets. They got their freedom. So that's one hell of a place to put on a free concert featuring some of the best music ever made. "And so I throw the windows open wide and call to you across the sky".
One little footnote: if it sounds like I'm being tough on the Soviet government, I am. Fuck the Soviet government and Putin's current government. Fuck Nazi Germany. Fuck the US government and the UK government. But not the people. When our governments get out of the way, we get along great, human-to-human. Let's do more of that. Thanks.
🎸💯 Power to Music & the People‼🤯🔥
D C. Right on Fucking Point.
The best live version of Echoes is the one from 'Remember That Night' from the same tour. They played it tighter, with better audio quality (it was indoors) and a better light show. That said, the ending of the Gdansk version gets me every time.
I agree with this. I prefer the RTN version too. I was fortunate enough to be at the Royal Albert Hall for one of the performances in 2006. The whole place erupted with applause just on that first note. It was incredible.
Remember that Night sounds flat through the entire concert. I’ve always thought outdoor concerts provided a better capture of the atmosphere of concerts. Compare U2’s Live in Boston 2001 concert film to the Live at Slane Castle film from the same tour. The sound is always more expansive on outdoor recordings
echoes is the best song of all time in my opinion… I love your reaction videos 👍
When Gilmour pulls that face you can tell that even he is impressed with the noise his guitar is making
I was in tears watching& listening to this 🙏❤️
I fell in love with Pink Floyd in 1973 and they have been my favorite band ever since. Saw them 3 times, in the 70's, in concert. I am a HUGE FAN for almost 50 years and I never tire of the music.
This is one of those performances that you never want to end, but you know if it went on too much longer you would be a gibbering wreck, such a beautiful and sad dichotomy
The Best...Gilmour !!
R.I.P. Rick Wright; what a genius. We miss him. btw, David's guitar strap belonged to Jimi Hendrix; David's wife bought it for him.
So much feeling, they are the best. I've been listenig PF since 12 now I'm 60. What a journey! It's so nice to see young people love them too. All the best!
OMG Perfect. The best thing that has happened to me in this life is listening to and being a Pink Floyd fan.
Yes! Love this version. 🔥🔥🔥
Have you done “Marooned” yet?
Their only Grammy winning song with David & Rick “talking” to each other.
If Gilmors playing doesn't give you the shivers you're at the end of Time.
Definately One of the Most amazing and Epic songs and guitar virtuoso's to ever play a guitar.
If no one is moved& brought to tears by this then nothing will, pure genius ❤
I think tears are normal in the face of such beauty. What a performance!
The ever precious David Gimour.
Hes just Amazing. Pink Floyd The greatest band that ever lived.
I think the comment below is spot on as they compliment each other you can feel the depth of love for each other as musicians and more importantly friend s
GRAZIE GRAZIE GRAZIE! 😉
I was born in 1970 in Southern California. The perfect time to grow up! I was little when Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Doors, etc etc were playing but once I got to my teens I discovered all of this stuff. I love watching u guys trip out on the music I grew up on. The 60’s-90’s guitar rock was the best ever made, by far……..the music of today doesn’t even come close. These guys are real musicians. All those old bands were. U had to play an instrument back then. And u guys are right- the music I grew up on was incredible! The best, IMHO……
I sorely miss Nick Mason playing drums. Nobody does it like him.The two music gods singing need to take their shirts off. Relive that moment! RIP Rick Wright🙏🏻
I personally consider this is the best version of this song. The lighting, the fading out part...I think PF's life time of art performance really improved some comprehension to this song in the end, even the song is literally their own work.
Yes, this song is indeed a masterpiece... you said it perfectly. That was truly an amazing experience. Thank you both for that.
Best reaction video yet from you both . Superb.
Wow, another amazing performance, in fact amazing doesn't even describe it, it's just wonderful. Made me feel very emotional as I know this was David Gilmour and Rick Wright's last performance together. Just one beautiful, epic experience in my opinion. Thanks so much guys, for reacting to this.
U lucky to hear such beautiful music
Every time echoes was played live, will be In a history book.
The Live in Gdansk concert is, for me, their best. Every song is perfection.
The music of universe.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This is my favorite musical trance dance experience, that affects you on so many levels. The opening verse is all about what Richard's other passion, sailing on the water, on the wings of the winds . They take you through blues, funk, soul,
psychodelic, to other worldly , or spirits rising and singing to one another, then this great return like a wall of music that sounds like keyboards and guitar trying to sound like Piper's (at the gates of dawn) bagpipes, then a blues- jazz , with the last verse of a great poem, finally as a nod to the title;
Richard followed by David, as they Echo note for note.
Thank you Pink Floyd for a slice of musical heaven.
I can always return to this song to be my spiritual compass. Thanks Guys....
Dudes!
This is the best song of the best band ever
On An Island, live at Gdańsk is fabulous!❤️
Guys, you should check out the whole concert in Gdansk - it's amazing. One you must watch is the performance of High Hopes in Gdansk - he uses an entire string section of the Polish Orchestra, and David does an added acoustic solo at the end that is absolutely sublime:

Yes!!
I'm so happy you guys listened to this rendition of Echoes, and I can see from your reaction, you really get it. Echoes is the High Holy of PF songs, the very soul of it all. Gilmour described it as a musical conversation between him and Rick, between his guitar & Rick's keyboards. I think of it as a sonic waltz, the two of them dancing and pirouetting together through their instruments. And yes, it speaks to something very deep and primal in being human, living in this world but yearning for something more, something transcendent. Thank god they gave us this final gift together on this tour. When Rick died, I wept, and this song makes me weep still. We miss you, Rick Wright.
Perfect- spot on
Glad you guys got to see this which is from another planet. PF are more than a music band ,they are poet artists soul using sound and visuals to convey their art! And unrivaled in that sense. I cry and am happy when I hear this opus ,sad that Rick is gone but happy to of been around in an era where modern day Beethoven's played! Great one Dudes!
Thank you for giving so much recognition to Rick Wright
I wish I had been at this concert.
I can count myself lucky to have witnessed this intense dialogue between Gilmour's guitar and Wright's piano
🎸💯 Gilmour & Wright: 2nd to none‼🤯🔥
It’s strange. This song was written by a group of 20 year olds with a depth beyond their years. Even they probably didn’t really appreciate it at the time. And then, 40 years down the line, as older men, one of them dying, they play it again, but really it’s the song that plays them.
Honestly, I watch your reactions because your enthusiasm and love of music is so infectious. It’s like listening to my favorite songs agin for the first time. Love you guys.
Masterpiece 😍
I love Richard Wright. he was my favorite musician of all time and the 'space', in which Pink Floyd played. I have watched this performance countless times and it never gets old. The musical synchronicity and deep friendship that he a David had cultivated over the years, pours through this performance. It's the perfect ending to a wonderful partnership and indeed, the best song ever. RIP Richard. Great reaction as usual guys :)
Legends
There's no version of Echoes that isn't brilliant, but this one........this one is a religious experience. I'm a scuba diver and listen to this version every time before I dive to get my head in the right place for diving. My dream is that, one day, I'll find a way of listening to Echoes while I'm 30m down. Imagine being weightless, held in the embrace of the ocean with Echoes blasting through your head. Now that would be the ultimate, otherworldly experience!
The greatest ever creation from PF.
Pure addiction.❤
Now, y'all have got to react to Rodrigo y Gabriela's studio acoustic version of Echoes.
You guys hit the nail on the head. One cannot ever be the same after experienceing them in concert. Inspirational to say the least.you guys are wonderfully honest , thank you.
I love you guyssss ❤️ This song is the soundtrack of my life...
Pink floyd is God of Psychedelic Rock and "Echoes" is a masterpiece of musical history ! OMG I fucking love it
It was so emotional to watch you being so emotional and enjoying it, as you always do with music, with all your soul and senses. One of your best reactions ever, for one of the best songs ever.
By the way, George mentioned "Brothers in arms"; I suggest you to check out the live version of the song taken from the Dire Straits live album "On the night".
If this is one of your fav PF songs, you truly are real fans! :). I could listen to this over and over all day long.
Perfect version of perfect music.
The music of Pink Floyd opens your heart to every possible emotion.
Then Gilmore's guitar takes your very soul and caresses it with the depth known only from a mother's love.
The whole sound is the sound of heaven 😍💋
Amazing beautiful performance!
Respect from Armenia...Good job my neighbors !
When a (group) or (persons) can have their music touch your soul, PF are THE MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE
You guys should check out 'Breakthrough' live, one of Richard Wright's songs, played by him and Gilmour on one of Gilmour's semi-acoustic concerts in 2001-2002. It's incredibly beautiful.
That's another heartwrenching song and version. True, guys, you should try that one
Phil Manzanero, lead guitarist from Roxy Music on rhythm guitar.
That was beautiful
Pink Floyd and Dire Straits, My top 2 favourite bands of all time.
Masterpiece
Less is (Gil)mour... ;D
When they pan over the audience at 18:47, and you see most of them just standing there, watching, it's beautiful.
No silly phones in the air, they're just enjoying.
Fantastic.
Gilmour is a god
Music of the gods performed by the gods of music full stop
Absolutely divine 👍👍👍👍👍
It's definitely for me!
Nice to see that you guys lit up for this song
Forever Love!! 🖤🖤❤️❤️😍😍💖💖 Larga vida a Roger, David y Nick!! Forever Love!! ❤️❤️💕💕💞💞💖💖
Two good friends saying goodbye . beautiful song this video has a lot of deep meanings to a lot of people
This is The best version of Echoes. Better than any other
Brilliant !.................I love Rick wright .............................
Please do solo David Gilmour ~ "No Way Out Of Here", "Raise My Rent", "So Far Away" and "No Way"....
I promise you will not regret it...!
I love the songs
Incredible stuff from Dave. Move a little closer to today and check out "On An island" - especially live with David Crosby and Graham Nash providing harmonies - absolutely sublime: ruclips.net/video/kEa__0wtIRo/видео.html
David's outro solo may be the finest of his life (no disrespect to "Comfortably Numb" live Pulse) - the emotion drips from the frets like tears.
@@williamosborne6866 "Marooned" off the masterpiece album The Division Bell is also "dripping with emotion"...
I'm not religious, but I believe in David Gilmour...
Last time this song will ever be played since Richard died RIP He got this sound by accident he reversed a plug to his guitar he hooked up input instead of out put and it made this sound
The passing of a great soul.
This is not just music, but historical and cultural heritage of humanity.
Pompeii - Set The Controls for The Heart of The Sun is a song you'll love. Mason's drumming is amazing there.
Grandi ragazzi. Vorrei tanto una vostra reaction su where whe start live . Un abbraccio dall'Italia. 🔝😜☯️
I like so much your reactions guys! 😂👍Mostly, the guy with the dude T shirt! I'm sure, it's the younger brother! Isn't it? 😂Because, he's feeling everything with passion! The other brother, the older one, is more calm, he try to control his brother! It's great! Super reaction guys! DID YOU KNOW, IT WAS THE LAST TIME, DAVID GILMOUR, AND RICHARD WRIGHT ON ORGAN, WERE PLAYING THAT MASTERPIECE SONG TOGETHER?!... IT WAS IN 2008! RICHARD DIED NOT A LONG TIME AFTER! LISTEN, AT THE BEGINNING, AND AT THE END, WHEN THEY ARE TALKING TOGETHER, WITH THEIR INSTRUMENTS! IT'S LIKE IF THEY KNEW IT WAS THE LAST TIME! THE PERFECTION! PEACE FROM FRANCE BROTHERS! 👍✌️😂🎸🇫🇷
I pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition with the cd's + dvd the moment I saw it. The entire concert is wonderful but this - is something extra special. RIP Rick !
