Problem is when you leave with Panam, you go away from the "civilization", into the open. But to save V they needed the neural matrix, obscure forgotten tech in some military bunker plus surgeons that are on level with ones on Luna or Langley
All endings have a bittersweet element, just in different ratios

I wouldn't say that "Everything goes wrong". V has to start from zero but not really since he now has a decent job with Reed that doesn't involve risking your live every day. Also he is out of that hellhole called Night City which is a big plus.

Grow old and die or go out in a blaze of glory became abundantly clear here.
Also, I have seen a theory flying around that Panam may be dead in this ending. It would be very uncharacteristic of her to leave without any sign of determination after 2 years. So the speculation is that she tried to find you by following the FIA trail and unfortunately got killed, which Mitch is not brave enough to tell you in the end, pleading you not to call again

I have a feeling this might be a good way to end V's story and start a new one. Who knows maybe, we may hear in sequel that V is now a fixer, working for FIA or Militech to do their shit work and we might have to do quests for him/her.
Also, this ending kind of sets off a perfect setting for sequel. Night City being in chaos, Militech trying to establish control. Things look promising for the future.

    • @ryanbarber6481
      @ryanbarber6481 11 месяцев назад +3

See, to me, I think the writing aspect of this ending is very good. Like, it was indeed depressing but I feel disappointment is more suitable. Like, just listen to the HoloCall messages at the end. Everyone of course are angry, but, they hide it with extreme disappointment. Like.... Takemura mentions something an old mentor told him, "He expressed my thoughs - good, strong medicine is bitter to the mouth." and after he's done telling him how he's been in the past 2 years, he finishes the call with "You were very strong medicine, V."
Idk, I might have looked too deep into the writing and actually like it. Obviously... I would never truly go with this ending lol outside of getting the achievement for it or something, just like the Arasaka and the unalive one, and will always go for the Reaper ending, or Panam, especially if I'm fem V, romance Judy, she tags along as well! And you both clearly live together with the Aldecaldos. BUUT I love the writing of the ending for this one. All the other ones had happy, sad, depressed, or angry reactions, this one gave me the disappointed feeling. Or, something similar? Like... they were obviously angry, but... they shrugged it off and basically gave me the "You'll probably end up dead anyway" and/or the "You used to be a legend, now you're just going to be forgotten."

And in the Hanako ending where V is in the space station, you can see on the news that president meyers makes an appearance commenting on Saburo taking over his son’s body. I was wondering if you could do a vid on what happens when you let Meyers die and then get to that point in the hanako ending and see if there’s a different president of the NUSA

The moment with Judy (as a harcore Judymancer) hit me the hardest.

Not a fan of the ending, largely because of how downright f**ked up it is. Ye i mean losing cyberware sucks, but that only means you go back to who you were at the very beginning, before the base game's prologue, be like everyone else...i don't see that as ''your life is now screwed'' vibe. If anything, you can still improve yourself, you can still use guns...weapons in general, you still have skills...yet the game gives the impression V is practically disabled, beaten by a random dude on the street.
But you know what really irks me? One- your friends basically, indirectly tell you f**k off, aside from Misty and Victor, and moved on like V never existed. Two - there is no option to tell your friends, that it could take long, something could go wrong or even make sure Reed keeps the informed of V's situation...
    nothing.
Aldecaldos, the clan that welcomes people, forgives, treats those they care about like family, going to the end of the world of em - telling me to not call, or as i would put it ''forget we ever knew each other at all''. You screw over Songbird, turning her back into Myer's puppet or outright killing her...and this is what V gets?
If every other ending had a positive, a silver lining, then this ending is so bad, has so many negatives...you literally lose everything, even Johnny, for nothing. This makes the suicide ending or Hanako/Arasaka ending look like best choices ever.

With that said, I don’t really see how this ending could continue the story on. If I had to bet, I would say that the canon ending may be the blaze of glory ending. Why? All because of Mr Blue Eyes. CDPR didn’t have to include him in the expansion, specifically the king of wands ending. the heroic thing would be to save So Mi but in my opinion she and V firstly not that close that it warrents the self sacrifice from V, secondly wether or not she regretted playing both you and sol she still did it selfishly and dont deserve it, she deserves exactly what she got when she ''pulled the trigger'' crashing the plane.
its tough luck with Panam but he got his life back the question is at what cost, everything just like all the other ending but in this one he keeps his life to pursue another and you know what i love it.

V loses Panam and Johnny gets wiped, has to adapt to living life as a regular person, can't even stand up to a rando on the streets, that sucks, sure, but he can live indefinitely now and not just for 6 months. He can still have a somewhat happy life. Its the only ending that offers something definitive instead of hope of something better in the horizon that may never come. I think its a fair trade-off.

Yes but at what cost. It cost V everything that he had and was. Imagine that you are at your full power in body and mind and suddenly you wake up weak and fragile, hardly able to walk, with everyone you loved gone and the whole world changed. Johnny said stay true to yourself but everything that you are is gone. It is not a happy end.

@@ShinForgotPassxXx i didn't say it was a happy end. just not the 'worst' as ppl are making it out to be. V is shown post surgery, adjusting to the new life, ofc he's gonna be fragile and struggling. that isn't permanent. Hell, not even the inability to wear combat chrome is permanent if we toss hope into the mix cuz i find it far more likely to find a ripper or new tech that can fix or mitigate that issue over the years than finding a cure for some mostly unknown, rare tech eating at your brain within 6 months before you bite the dust.

Just a reminder that when the game starts, V is just a rando like at the end here. He has barely any implants, he's totally unknown, and he just left his previous life. Then lost Jackie, his best friend... All within one year (2077), since it's clearly said in this ending that it all happened in 2077.
So it's just the beginning of a new cycle for V. Maybe he'll fall in love with a consultant at the FIA, and build a family from there, and be happy in non-psycho ways. It's too bad he loses Panam, but even then, maybe in a few months she'll realize it wasn't V's fault, and she's lucky he came back alive and still loves her.
These endings are always both downers and open-ended enough that they can be seen as new beginnings. It's the magic of great writing.
And believe me, when you've just gone through Starfield, you can easily recognize the difference between literary writing and pulp crap. Cyberpunk 2077 is firmly in the former camp. People will remember these stories for a long time.

If they want the second game to have V as its main character then this is the only ending where things can work out, personally i think this is for v's life in the game , every ending is open to a continuation somehow but that will never happen , the future of V is for him to make , we as the player just decided what that future can look like.

Not a huge fan of this ending... it seems that even if you have fully cybernetic arms/legs and a whole bunch of other vital implants, it doesn't really affect you in the end, somehow you end up having a normal body as if it wasn't modified at all. And also the notion that your life is basically screwed if you can't have any combat cyberwere is a bit forced.

To me Panam ending is still the best, however this seems to be the only ending where V actually survives in the long term and its actually kind of realistic if you look at it, if you ghost everyone for two years people will move on, even in real life. Hell some would even move on faster. I can't tell you how many people i have lost contact with over the years and have no idea what they are doing right now and vice versa. So in that way it's actually very realistic and sometimes you just need a fresh start, a clean slate if you will so even if it doesn't feel like its the best ending it actually may be the best one if you really look into it

All endings we got are just different shades of sad and depressing, it's so out of character for everyone V has helped to treat him like they do, if only Reed or the NUSA had contacted V's friends and told them about the coma so they wouldn't just move on would have made it much better even if V has to live as a cripple.

Not like she ghosted, she contacted everyone prior. She still has a few people in her life, including Reed and a job, if she wants it. I switched when Songbird owned up and I'm glad I did as my only intention was to save V and I wouldn't have gone through with killing Reed. V and Johnny parted on sad but good terms, he understood the decision. Powerful writing

The first impression of this ending was very negative, depressing, I felt great pity for my V...It actually came to Dexter DeShawn's words when V asks if she wants to die young but famous, or old but smelling of urine, just like someone the world doesn't know../she because I am a female/...Today, after several days, I see this ending the same.....as sad, but I don't want my V. to die somewhere with Panam or Judy.......she/he will die, just the player won't see it..Death can be good if it has a reason, but this is not that case..I played the game for the eighth time now and I can't say that I hate Johnny, I really don't, but I don't like him one bit... I can't help myself :)...And a few words for the complete conclusion, when V. gets lost in the crowd of people on the street..In my opinion, this symbolizes that V. will survive, but she/he will survive like NOBODY...Do you understand, and that comes to me from CDPR as something very cruel..

I played default female V street kid, I have a feeling that it fits perfect the world of cyberpunk, it feels canon for me, from the beginning, and after the first main game and the PL expansion I realized there is no good ending, I remember that quote in Witcher 3, the lesser evil, V either dies or she/he became a normal person, no matter how much V fights, not matter how much she/he tries the ending is still the same, dying or became a nobody and NPC, a face in the crowd like everybody else, after all there's no canon V or canon ending, V is you, the player, it's not like Geralt in Witcher, or Like Arthur in RDR2(just some examples)
I feel like after all the endings that we've seen this is the only one that is partially good, V survives, Johnny no, the point of the game is making V finding a cure make sure that your V survives no matter the cost, I feel like this ending leave a lot of space for a sequel, who know maybe we will be able to add our V from the old game in the sequel and continue the story of V.
Johnny Silverhand is dead anyway, he died 50 years ago, he was an amazing character but he was a parasite inside someone else body. The only true homie in the game is Viktor Vektor, he was the only one who cared about V, no matter who you romance or how many friends you make, they gave up on you after being 2 years in a coma, on the other side of the country, yes they've called you a lot, gave a lot of messages, but if they really cared they would have search for you, If you romance Judy for example she gave up on you and she gets married somewhere in Pittsburg, like wtf??? if you love someone you won't let him/her disappear just like that.
If this is the end of V' story It's good, if not well, will see but it better be worth it.

After all of this, I still think that the endings where V is alive and stay in Night City can be a good follow-up to Cyberpunk 2. He can either be a customer, have connection to a fixer (like Rogue, for example) and ask if the MC can help him with stuffs OR he truly became a living legend in Night City just like in the ending where he cooporate with Mr. Blue Eyes, but this time he has been cured and switch to being a fixer instead.

The only friend he has is in town in Vik and only 2 other people care enough to reach out to you after and one of them is just to tell you not to contact them anymore.
I’d wish we’d gotten an ending where they figured out how to suspend the Relics ability to over write V’s engram. Would’ve loved to see this duo come back for the sequel but it is what it is.
