It is good to check what is worth for splurge and where you can save the money 😊 you can do such kind of reviews very well because you have so much experience with luxury makeup. The new elf blushes and lip oil is really nice! I know some people feel a certain way about drug store dupes, but I can appreciate the effort for making the luxury style makeup more accessible. I do hope that they keep pushing their creativity though!!😊
I LOVE that you’re integrating drugstore products in this video, Erin! I have just a couple high-end products that I use fairly regularly (with the help of your influence, actually 😀, they’re Chanel 😉), but other than that I use mostly drugstore products, as I don’t wear much makeup at all. I’m more of a skincare person who uses the minimums of makeup-concealer, blush, mascara, sometimes eyeshadow catering to day/night/special event, and always a lip, either subtle or bold, depending on the day/event. The great drugstore dupes have given me surprisingly great quality while also saving me a lot of money as my husband and I continue to grow our financial business. As our income grows though, I know I’ll dabble more in higher-end products too, which I’m looking forward to 😊.
The Chanel Water Base Teint is one of my favorites. I finished a bottle in 6 months and just repurchased my second bottle.

Hi Erin! Very nice result using the high-low approach! Truly appreciate your objectivity on the CG vs Chanel. Several of the high-end cosmetics review channels have poo-pooed the CG but I found that if I apply it using the technique Chanel recommends (stiff brush, break up pigment capsules first, then apply) I get a very similar result to the Chanel Complexion Touch. Wholeheartedly agree with you on the matte lipsticks ~ hard to find a formula that doesn't look drying. May try the Prada at some point but at that price point, I'll wait til my perfect color comes out! Really appreciate your hard work making these videos and helping us all out!
I definitely noticed that when I used a brush with the CG it went on a little smoother than when I used my hands. It’s a great option, I’m excited to keep using it! Xx

Great Video! The Maybelline Super Stay Skin Tint is 100% a dupe for the Makeup by Mario Foundation! It even has the slight shimmer visible in the bottle!

I do a high-low mix of makeup and face products and really like the NYX Lift and Snatch liquid brow filler. It is half the price of the higher end products and you get great wear.

I will have to try the Prada Lip Balm! Thank for the recommendation. I purchased their Soft Matte formula lipstick (same case as the balm), and I really love that lipstick. It's a slightly sheer formula that can be built up. I also love that Prada says you can use the Soft Matte Lipstick as a blush too! I only do it for touch up while at work.
So cool, I picked up that shade in the GXVE eyeshadow and have really enjoyed it as well! I have my eye on the Victoria Beckham ones though, do you think you'll ever review her line? thanks so much Erin!!! ❤
I am a luxury lover, but the ELF hydrating camo concealer is fantastic. I pick it up before all of my high-end ones when I want high coverage under my aging eyes! 👀
I had high hopes for the Cover Girl foundation but think I’ll stick with my Chanel Les Beiges water fresh tint. I don’t like full coverage so it works well for me. On you the Cover Girl looks heavy and make-uppie.
I like the Huda under eye concealer but after trying the Chanel Sublimage I’m never going back. It doesn’t settle in my 75 year old wrinkles and it lasts all day.
I’d rather buy drug store products as they are kinder to my wallet but after trying a few Chanel products I’m sold. Luckily I don’t wear makeup every day so they’ll last me awhile.

The Sublimage concealer is amazing! There are a lot of luxury products that are worth the splurge because the alternatives aren’t as good. Its always interesting to compare :) xx

I’m still a L’Oréal lash paradise type of gal. I stock up when Ulta has them on sale and I’m good for the whole year!

The Huda loose power is my favorite. I love Chery blossom and just got the peach pie. I love the scent! The product is also amazing.

I didn't think the Chanel water tint would be enough coverage for me back when it came out so tbh, I'd forgotten about it. But then when ppl started comparing it to the Chanel I kinda changed my mind. Lately I've been really wanting a more natural finish. Was looking everywhere for the CG but in the meantime stopped by a Chanel counter. By then too I'd heard about the Completion touch. Tried both and while they both looked nice, I decided when I could I'd get the newer Touch. Finally found the CG, and was surprised that I didn't like it as much as expected? My skin is normal to slightly dry & it looked oily after a bit? For me, I usually really don't need to powder. I do need tho to try the Chanel again tho bc by the time I got it on it was later in the day so really wasn't on all that long. I can tho at least tell it felt much better than the CG.
Also, I never noticed "numbers" on the CG? Just fair, light, etc...
I still think the Gucci mascara tops them all!
The Gucci mascara is amazing! I restocked it over and over for a while and then I started trying to use up what I already opened. I’ve found some good options but I agree, it’s one of the best!

Whoa that covergirl looks awful Erin. I'll stick to my chanel waterfresh and complexion touch. I guess to get what u pay for in the foundation dept. I have around 10 different chanel foundations and love them all for different occasions.
Did you really think that foundation would be anything like the Chanel it says it in the name ones a foundation and one is a tint and there’s tons of reviews on this
The CG is 70% water and described as a skincare/makeup hybrid and so is the Chanel Water Fresh Tint so it’s not crazy to think they’d be similar. It turns out the CG is actually closer to the Chanel Water Fresh Complexion Touch but still shinier.
I bought the new Cover girl foundation and it’s nowhere near the same as Chanel. Chanel is so much better.
The Chanel is definitely more natural but for the price, CG is a nice option! Xx
