  • Winston McCall of Parkway Drive and Jake Luhrs of August Burns Red sat down with APTV Correspondent Caity Babcock in the Gibson Artist Lounge at the 2015 APMAs.
The pair presented the award for Best Guitarist to Tony Perry of Pierce The Veil. "Considering I don't think either of us play guitar, it was kind of nerve-racking," says Winston of being onstage. Well, Winston must be a man of steely nerves, because he jumped out of a plane for his last video!
Jake Luhrs has been busy, too: August Burns Red's most recent album, Found In Far Away Places, debuted at #9 on the Billboard charts. "No one buys albums anymore, so to hit the numbers that we did was a huge surprise," Jake tells us.
Caity's a pretty big August Burns Red fan herself-she saw them in concert when she was 14 and had a pretty funny interaction with Jake. Hear all about it in the video!

Both of them are great musicians but I can't say that I agree with Winston's statement of "Tony deserved the award". Guitar and drum awards shouldn't be voted by the public. Alternative Press... do you get it yet?

They are both great bands, and both have been doing this for 10+ years. Let's just enjoy them both as an equal.

Hopefully Parkway don't do anything too dramatic to the point where their sound is completely un-recognisable. Their next album will be interesting especially after IRE.
