It's so nice to see a skeptical approach to supplements. Too many people either selling things or buying into the marketing. Going to put some tumeric on my stir fry tonight.
I love that you are getting so many opinionated comments. I was vegan for 4.5 years but, though I don’t follow a fully vegan diet anymore, I’d NEVER suggest you change your diet since you and your doctor have already discussed it and this diet seems to be working for you! Do what works for you and keep putting out quality content. Love that you encourage people to get their nutrients from whole foods. 💯
Nice! Regarding Curcumin & Fenugreek, you might like one dish we learned about in Sri-Lanka, “Sri-Lanka dhal curry”, in this dish they use: red lentil, coconut milk, curcumin, fenugreek and etc spices. The main thing is not to be confused with the Indian dhal curry.
I liked your videos because it's so informative and so casual. Like the way you informed casually about the danger of taking more irons at 1:24 and you did not even flinch, awesome. Love from India.
Thanks for the vid. I take bromelain sometimes for inflammation and drink hibiscus tea after a good run or hike for its antioxidants. The bromelain lasts only about an hour and a half but is so much easier to the stomach than an NSAID.
my eyes went immediately to the spice rack, which is much more visible than the supplements. This girl coach needs to let us know whats there, cause the only thing I'm thinking when I'm running is what I'm going to eat after. What are you using to marinate that tofu or beyond meat ground sandi?
Also there is this great documentary about supplements (speaking about many supplements, like vitamin D, omega 3...) : Vitamania The sense and non sense of vitamins ruclips.net/video/6ZxoWgbpHQA/видео.html
good content, good confidence, good vid any quick tips to deal with shin pains...I've stopped running for a few months now I have trouble picking the pace back up even after a week of training
First thing I would do is check your stride rate. If it's in the low 160s ot below you could try to slowly increase your cadence as there are a lot of studies showing that reduces force on the shins.
A lot of potential with this video to lure in trolls and religious food zealots. I applaud your stance on being vegetarian and starting out this vid with your disclaimer. I often experiment with different supplements, but at the end of the day, I don’t ever feel a difference unless it’s from a cup of coffee or the sugars from a nice green smoothie. To each his own I suppose.
I would love to get all my nutrients from whole organic food, but where lm at there is not a large selection to choose from and it’s expensive That’s were quality vitamins and supplements come in to play for me.
Thank you for this, I'm hearing more and more about Unived nutrition seriously looking into them. I'm such a huge fan of Turmeric, especially for it's anti-inflammatory properties since I'm allergic to ibuprofen. Awesome video thanks again!
Excellent presentation Sandi and very informative, as a national class runner and supplement taker for probably longer than any of your listeners and commentators, allow me to chime in on a couple of things; in this hectic crazy world of ours many people athletes included do not procure all the vitamins we need in our foods, for athletes who lose a lot of vitamins and electrolytes in training require supplementation. One daily vitamin-mineral supplement will fulfill much of the needed vitamins, there are different kinds for men and women. I concur with you on iron supplementation, get a blood test as you suggested to find out if you are deficient in ANY vitamin, I kind of agree with you on taking too much C, so eating fruit daily plus the C in the vit-mineral supplement is fine, no need for gigantic ingestion. The one thing you did not mention which is VERY important for athletes is protein supplementation, we need this for recovery, if you don't eat red meat and are Vegan, there are some great protein powders out there; I take pea protein powder, no dairy, no gluten, all natural, Pea protein is the best you can get and it mixes nicely with juice, Gatorade, etc, many athletes do not take in enough protein, thus retarding their recovery from hard workouts.
Didn't eared why no vitamin C but instead iron supplements. Vitamin C, taken after training helps recovery and rebuilds red blood cells destroyed by shocks.
Thank's for the vid. Nice links as well. Love tumeric, haven't take any painkillers for nearly a year since I started taking it. As you say be skeptical and do research.
I’ve had a random knee injury for two months and still ongoing. Training has been very low, and doing bike workouts and strength work is all fine. Could calcium deficiency be the issue
There's definitely no school for pronounciation... With the 1st supplement I didn't know what u were talking about until u wrote it on the vid 😂 I pronounce it differently
You'd be better off having a spinach salad with some feta drizzled with some pumpkin seeds. At least this way, you will know that your body is getting the nutrients and vitamins it needs instead of taking artificial vitamins and minerals that most dieticians say are passed as urine down the toilet.
I'm sure you watched the video and know I suggested getting your vitamins and minerals from whole foods when possible based on what research says. Thanks for watching!

The fact that you told me to be skeptical before you started actually makes me trust you way more. 😂 Thanks for the info!

AWESOME video, great knowledge. I should make some more videos like this, thanks for the idea :))))
Great video! Loved the disclamer! Loved the research and encouragement for discussion! Would love to see you on Ginger Runner Live!
Love the nutrition vids!
Thanks so much for watching!

How do you get in and out of the kitchen? Also, no sink or tap??
The sink is behind her. The fridge is also to the left where she would be able to escape the kitchen 🤣
doors are just questionable supplements
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Why would you need protein supplements or powders when you could just eat more beans, lentils, split peas, chickpeas, or tofu?

Gonna try the Curcumin/Turmeric. Please discuss the benefits of chocolate also. :)
We all should take d3 k2

Love this topic! I just love your voice also. So colordian. Lol
cute that she pronounces iron....i-ron lol
Haha! That's a little bit of my home accent come out. We drag out vowels.
Without a hint of irony.
Sage’s kitchen never looked so good
It looks like you're trapped in the kitchen. Countertop in front, countertop behind, oven to the left and wall to the right.
Studio apartment living at its finest! Haha!
I thought you guys bought a place?
@@RunningWildSandi I know the feeling - I've lived in a few myself :)
Hi Sandi! Have you considered Ginger Runners invitation?
I don't feel like I'm cool enough to be on Ginger Runner Live! Honestly, it's way more fun for me to learn from others.
I’ve had a random knee injury for two months and still ongoing. Training has been very low, and doing bike workouts and strength work is all fine. Could calcium deficiency be the issue
Ask your doctor
What are your opinions on glucosamine chondroitin supplements?
I'm curious on this too.
Your hair looks very healthy.
I only supplement my diet with chocolate... 😋
Eyrin
Irrin!
Why take iron when you can eat dark chocolate with strawberry for vitamin c
There's definitely no school for pronounciation... With the 1st supplement I didn't know what u were talking about until u wrote it on the vid 😂 I pronounce it differently
Hey! I’m curious what you do for work? I’d love to live out in boulder! Wondering how I can get there
*indian Here*
I bet Sage is well jealous of your shoulders.
And of race results as well 😝
No K2 with your D3?

Not so sure about the feta.
You are too thin. Seriously.
