Hey Steve, fellow video editor here who also has messed around with capturing GT7. The headset is HDR, so the captured video or the PS screen record are HDR as well. If you do a Color Space Transform to Rec709, your input space/gamma should be Rec.2020 / Rec.2100 ST2084. Output is Rec709 / Gamma 2.4 as usual. I am sure you encountered this, I just noticed watching the video that the sky is very blown out in certain parts of the video. I think if you play around with the color space transform, you can get a better looking result (if that's the issue--I just had a hunch). Loving all the content man, your races are so fun to watch.
When racing in VR with no HUD, it all comes down to feel. Sensing the speed, feeling the braking power, hearing the grip loss. Minus the motion rig it's so good! I always get nervous and race cautiously during the dark in the 24hr LeMans. When chasing, I feel more comfortable, but when there are no other racers around it get's sketchy. Something I'm trying to overcome by spending more time racing in the dark with no HUD. Just need to memorize this track better. You are fantastic in this race. The confidence is inspiring. Kudos.
I just ordered the vr2 with racing chair and g29. This content over the last few days pushed me to buy the setup what I never thought of buying. First thing I’ll drive a convertible and watch the stars above!
That is a great experience even at one remove. The car on slicks in the wet: I reckon you were still probably doing 60 mph or so there and on wide slicks in heavy rain then once you hit lift-off aquaplaning then it's literally zero grip until the traction loss lets you decelerate back below the critical speed. Really exciting video and this is definitely something I want to do soon
I managed a 5:32 lap in the Porsche 919 Hybrid yesterday, there is absolutely no way I could have done that without VR. The Ring is exceptional in VR with a DD wheel
i always love gran turismo for these details, the vibe is insane, everyone laughing at them for the accurate stars and astronomy feature, they did it first in GT6 with the focus on stars and even moon gravity to let you feel what if you were to drive a car on the moon, the scenery was always a special one for gran turismo
If only Sony would make this PC compatible for my PC sims too I'd buy one in a heartbeat... and PC sim racers would then also be tempted to buy a PS5. Sim racers like me who only bought a PS5 for GT7 in the first place don't want to buy a VR headset for just one game too. I bought an expensive Logitech G Pro steering wheel and that tempted me to get the PS5 in the first place! But at least I can use the G Pro/Pedals on both PC and PS5 systems for the price and capability. VR is the same kind of purchase as an expensive direct drive wheel.

I already learned that if I can see a mist on Le Mans I switch to intermediates. Even if the rain is not there I'll lost way less time doing that than slicking on the puddles at 10km/h for the whole lap 🤣
That was fun to watch. Respect to all of the real drivers who drove on this track for all the years. True madmen! 🤪
Woah, you can actually see the eye tracking going to work in this video. Notice the mirrors, when he isn’t looking at them they’re all jagged and low quality but as soon as he does they jump back to full quality goodness. Impressive stuff
Steve sounds a lot like Tom Scott when amazed with the immersion as he passes through the grandstands.
Thanks for not editing this into chunks. Leaving it as the entire race, warts and all, works perfectly.
Dude this was amazing!!!! When you begin the attack at 10:10 through the crowd I said “give the people a show!” Great content.
As breathtaking as this is to watch, I can only imagine how incredible it must be to actual be in it. Insane.
Very incredible.. best experience in gaming so far
Most insane race simulation I have ever seen. Great setup !!! Mind blowing
My new favorite video from you! No cuts, playing in VR with a really nice day/night setting. 👌
Super GT has been on fire with the uploads this past weeks👍👍👍
I can hear the genuine excitement in your voice...good stuff man...if i could have afforded this and a ps5 , i would definitely have gotten this based on your reviews and vids
This is an awesome video, this VR is going to add so much content to watch i can't wait
Thank you for sharing more VR GT7 experience with us! I'm not sure when I'll be able to experience VR like this myself, so it makes me happy when you upload VR videos.
This genuinely got my heart pumping, absolutely incredible. Gotta save up for a VR2 now.
GT7 newb here. I had PSVR1 and was super addicted to Dirt Rally. Only played GT7 a few times, but every session has been atleast 4 hours in VR. This game is absolutely incredible, and I'm leagues behind this caliber of racing. So impressive!!! I would have crashed within minutes at that speed 🤤
Having owned pc and playing acc, ac, iracing, to name a few, I'd never tried vr before. So I bought psvr2 with Gt7 in mind. The headset come a few days ago, quite easy to set up, 5 to 10 mins, headset looks, feels nice, very light on the head, and I will say this. It is a level of immersion I was not prepared for in any way. I simply did not understand this was possible. I figured it was some cool 3d experience me and my son could have a blast on now and then. I was dead, dead wrong.
Its amazing isnt it. Vr is so much fun. It takes games to a whole new level. It's hard to go back to flat screen games afterwards.
@@donnajones1075 I just didn't know. I had absolutely no clue, I've actually been buzzing from it all week telling my buddies how impressive it was.
@@nextgengaming7803 definitely. I still get excited now when I'm playing vr games. Sometimes I just like to stop and enjoy the scenery in games. Its amazing that you can almost escape to different worlds inside your own home. Its amazing tech.
@@donnajones1075 it was always something I talked about. I intended on grabbing the first vr years back. But one reason or another, I didn't. The possibilities here are endless, and I'm all for it. What other stuff have you played in vr?
so VR, specially driving, really is life changing?
there's a VR place here close to where i live but it's a shitty standing still shooting game. it's cute like thor in the game but the "immersion" aint rly there
One of the best videos I’ve watched regarding gaming, sport and tech rolled into one
Just WOW!!! That was a terrific video, and gorgeous also. Thanks for sharing.
this was the first vr video i watched from you and this is amazing
VR content is great GT. Looking forward for them to add a stabilizer for VR capture like they do on PC
Honestly your pure joy in this one is awesome and super infectious. Really sparked the wish to get my own little rig... just need a bigger home first lol
Good content mate, do more VR videos like this!
The rain section was crazy! Almost as crazy as that time you called Kirby a Pokemon
Kudos.
More of these please Steve. That was absolutely immense. 👌🏻
I just ordered the vr2 with racing chair and g29. This content over the last few days pushed me to buy the setup what I never thought of buying. First thing I’ll drive a convertible and watch the stars above!
MORE VR content. This was EPIC
Man PS5VR is reallly well done. Its the only VR content i cant watch and not get a headache from. Super cool video man!
Absolutely incredible race, even the hilarious ending. Makes me wanna build a full immersion rig so bad. Keep up the great work man!
I LOVED THIS ♥ pls do more, this is perfect
I was going to get a PSVR2 eventually, but this video just convinced me to order one today
What an awesome video! Looking forward to more VR content. 🙏🏾
Hydroplaning after the Mulsanne Straight was great. Lol. Sounded genuinely fun all around.
This looks insane, I will give it a go tomorrow.
I’ve got to show this to my friend, he drove the xjr-9 at lemans in the 80s, i reckon he would love this, as someone who has experienced just this
So fun to look at I can imagine playing! I can already hear the Nürburgring calling your name 😎
That was intense!! Loved it!
This was amazing, especially when you were going to head to head with the cars. After just watching the F1 race last night, this is insane.
This is just wow. Looks absolutely beautiful so immersive. ❤
That was epic. Hope this becomes an ongoing mini series in amongst the usual content.
The lighting at night looks so realistic
Dude I think you should do a whole series with VR, goddamn it feels amazing to watch on full screen, beautiful stuff
Those 787Bs cruising right next to each other was bad ass! 👌🏽
This is beautiful, I wasn't interested in VR in the first placed, but stuff like this is making me consider getting a set.
You need to do 200 Laps of the Nürburgring Nordschleife in VR
200 laps??
This race was amazing to watch Super GT, great stuff!!!
Polyphony digital is Sony first party studio don't think it will come to pc
@@olavofernandes7286 Insomniac is also first party and both Spiderman games came to PC. so did god of war and zero dawn if I remember correctly. As well as other exclusives im sure
This is probably my favorite video you’ve done!! Definitely add this type of vid to your content!
From seeing you play Forza 7 on Xbox to this absolute banger video!! What a journey mate~~ Absolutely love it
I loved to drive in first person when I played this game. Granted I did it with a TV, controller, and a hud, but the immersion still felt amazing. I liked to do longer races like the 24 hour race on spa (800pp for 1 hour real time). The 30 min race on spa was nice too at 700pp
Excellent Forza content! The description did not let me down.
lol
That looked INTENSE! omg I havent been on gt7 ina while because of work but with the new track and now VR ?!! YES I NEEED THISSS
Steve you should totally try the aircon/fridge car in vr. That would make fataliti- I mean incredible scenes.
Never knew I needed pov footage of Super GT, but god I am loving it.
