I love that Philly is a sports town that is giving love to the linemen. It's a thankless job in pro sports that no one appreciates. The fact that the Brotherly Shove has already become an iconic play is awesome. They all deserve a shout out.

I think it’s all of our favorite play! If you go to any bar in Eagles country during the game, the second we line up in that formation the whole place goes nuts. It’s a Philly thing. There’s just no other play that expresses your dominance quite like that Philly shove does when you run it on every 4th and 1 and your opponent doesn’t get a single stop. It must be so demoralizing for opposing defenses to get stops on 3rd down and still fail to get off the field.

I remember reading/hearing from an analyst early on that while Jordan Mailata had no real experience being a lineman, that also meant he didn't have any bad habits and techniques which make the transition harder. He didn't have and bad habits from High School or college in terms of technique so he was a blank slate, he was going to get the fundamentals and develop those and any bad habits were going to get ironed out before they became permanent. Americans know about rugby UNION, the game played in US universities. But Jason played rugby LEAGUE. It’s different. It’s harder. It was developed as a professional game. It’s like four hard running plays trying to bash through the line to gain a certain amount of yards for another set of downs. So it’s like rugby/football hybrid. Everyone has to carry the ball on offense, and everyone has to tackle on defense. It’s really cool. Aussies, kiwis and Brits are good.

@@SportZFan4Ever I would say there’s more nuance in Union. I follow Union religiously. I usually watch 1st half of Union game while riding my stationary bike. There’s a lot of fast forwarding when the ball has been kicked into touch or the 1-2 minute scrums. There’s much less downtime in League. There’s a reason League guys like Andy Farrell, Shaun Edward’s, Mike Forshaw, and Kevin Sinfield have come to Union. 50/22, goal line drop out, increasing points for trys, League defenses, League line running. There’s a plethora of things that Union has brought from League. In 80 minute in League they make double the number of tackles. And they run into each other at 10 meters compared to 3-4. Again, I love both codes.

@@saskrugbydad2227every wr and rb in the nfl would be far more suited for league.
When they get the ball their natural instinct is to run as far as possible just like league allows.
Union would be too technical for them with the kicking game which outside backs need and the situational awareness needed for union would be too great, ie running without supporting teammates to clear the ruck for you resulting in a turnover, plus the opportunities to make runs/metres are far more plentiful in league.
Yes lineman, linebackers would be suited for union no doubt.
