Thank you for taking the time to discuss Sudan. Long time listener (i think i've literally listened to every episode) and was slightly disappointed in comments made last episode and the comparison between Sudan and Palestine. I knew you didn't have ill intentions, which is why I didn't take it personally and still appreciate the episodes. Its true the lack of journalist, images, and media coverage is a large reason why its not as spoken about, but as well as other factors (aka being Black). When duaa is made Palestine is always mentioned and Sudan often isn't and it's heart breaking. I currently have family either kidnapped, displaced within Sudan (living in schools because their homes were bombed), or displaced in other countries. The images in Palestine are very similar to those in Sudan- so when the Muslim ummah claims to care about all Muslims all over the world and ignore Sudan, its exhausting and hypocritical. It's very important for Sudan to be spoken about and brought up, just as much as Palestine, as well as non-muslim countries. It humanizes us and brings better understanding to us as a people.
Also sharing stories is so important! Speaking about Sudan and Palestine, bringing it up to people- especially Muslim communities when they discuss people around the world because again we are usually forgotten. It's been a year and it seems like people care less. Always always always sharing and talking about Sudan.
We’re 6 mins in and damnnn I agree so much 😓😓 I miss that inner child excitement and I’m not sure how to bring it back. Tbh you’ll probs talk about it in a sec and I’ll be back with another comment ahha
