All I did was prep the heel the same way but I sculpted my hooves directly onto the heel using epoxy sculpt and it was pretty lightweight and very very durable

JSKNXJL ALABAMA they..are a lot...of work... and they have to buy a whole lot of materials which would usually be 100+ and how much time they put into it and if they want to have ANY PROFIT AT ALL.... they sadly have to be...expensive.......
Francisco Gallego no, I find it satisfying to watch videos like this. It looks cool, I fursuit so I technically like cosplay. But I watch videos like this just because I want to sometimes.
Look into online stores with custom makers/crafters, like Etsy. However, hoof shoes are probably REALLY EXPENSIVE (200-500$, I'd guess?). Not to mention that you have to make sure the shoes fit, and oh boy.. as someone who has wide feet, I would never be able to order them online. As the person above me suggested, you can custom order them from certain Fursuit or Cosplay makers.
Definitely look on Etsy, there's this one shop called chaos costume I think, and they do boots as well as seamless ones that you wear with tights, and come in a few different hoof styles
I saw I didn't get to see them paint it and actually put it together, but then part 2 was recommended! And I realized it was in parts and my awwws went to YAYs!!
Understandably you're super busy in school (so am I!!), but may I jump ahead and just ask what you use to stick the heel to the boot? I think I've found enough materials to figure out how to paint the resin, but was curious what you use for adhesive. This is an amazing tutorial, thank you.
spray the mold with something that prevents sticking, or rub some vaseline on it. to make the latexpart more stable and easier to remove, try monsterclay or some clay that is sturdy but wont dry as much, there are alot of mold-making and mold-using videos on here, that have a lot of techniques in them that you might find to come in handy with any future projects.
Thank you for your help... this was actually my first mold project and I just used stuff I had at home ^^ Next time I definitly do it a more professional way :D
It would have saved a lot of time if you had made the plaster cast to split in to half or quarters by placing card or thin plastic in to the mold first, also the resin you could have added colour direct to the resin
Of course... sound good :D You just have to make a pattern for your fur to cover the shoe, maybe with a zipper at the back. Maybe take a look at Lightning Cosplays Faun Costume, she did shoes like that before.
+Katya Knightwolf Hi Katya, thats possible but you have to create another mold for a sculpted hoof like this. Maybe take a look at this video from smooth-on. There you can see how to do a two part mold with silicon. ruclips.net/video/FQ1A7ZjTsx8/видео.html
Hallo, Zuerstmal: wow.. Das sieht mega toll aus. Ich würde gerne den huf so ähnlich nachbauen. Könntet ihr mir dafür sagen welche Materialien ihr genau verwendet habt? Also zum Beispiel welches Silikon usw?
Does it have to be a high heel ? Because I'm making a horse fursuit, but I don't want to make it with high heels. So can I use something else for the hooves base (the shoes) ? Please if you know tell me.
Hi... sorry for the late answer... latex milk and rubber are not the same. But I think you can use both materials for casting. But I am not a pro, maybe check out the channel from SmoothOn... All they do is casting stuff and their channel is really nice if you are interested in some Professional technics. My video is more like the quick and dirty methods, cause we just used what we had at home ^^
hi. yes it is. we whant to use a two part silicon mold next time. unfortunately this method is very expensive, cause you need more silicon for it. But it is easier and faster :D
hi. I never did it before so I dont know how stable clay hooves are :/ But you can also use Styrodur plates, this Material is really strong, cheap and lightweight , but it took a long time cutting and sanding it. Normally it is used for walls. Maybe this would be an option for you?
Could this method be repeated with the same plaster and latex mold? I'm thinking of doing some resin claws. And with limited resources I hope to do multiple casts with the same molds.

Hi! What are the steps after this? I really want to give this a try for a prosthetic photo shoot, I'm a make-up artist but I love cosplaying to death! Please let me know! :)
+KRisnotonfire You can, but I would strongly recommend against it. Plaster of Paris is extremely soft and I've found that it just damages too easily to be very effective for making molds, etc. A gypsum cement really would do better, something like Ultracal-30. It's pretty cheap if you can find it locally, if not it's EXORBITANTLY expensive to ship. You can make a sort of DIY version of it by mixing 80% plaster to 20% of the finest Portland cement you can find; I like Type III. (Technically it's 85% plaster, 10% cement, and 5% powdered silica, but I'm about a billion miles from anything and take what I can get.)
Supernatural Demon, if you pick a sturdy shoe, the weight of the heel is sent to the front of the toe in an even distribution. I’m guessing it’s difficult but easy to get used to
Idk Who cares how they spelled Musik I think people are too damn stupid now to be spell checking others on anything if you can read it then fuck it....the video is about a shoe tutorial Not spelling check Class 😂
I used simple moulding clay from a local art shop in Germany... you can use almost any clay but it is the best way to use clay that doesn't air dry. So you have a lot more time and you don't need to spray water on top to prevent the surface from cracks
Hi mightygoodmagic, some people already said it is too fast, hope I can redo this video again some day. I am still try to improve my videos, but thank you for your criticism.... thats really helpfull :D

how long did it take to dry and what brand epoxy sculpt?
THANK YOU! i followed this tutorial and casted hoofs for my Baphomet halloween costume and it came out absolutely amazing.
Very creative. This would be great for a satyr
I watch one hoof video and suddenly, hooves everywhere. Help!
Amor Del Rosario me too dude... Me too
me too... now i rly want them but they're so expensive!!! :(

Is it weird that I don't like cosplay but I just like watching people make it
Francisco Gallego nope i don't think it's weird because i don't like make up but i watch people do it
Francisco Gallego no, I find it satisfying to watch videos like this. It looks cool, I fursuit so I technically like cosplay. But I watch videos like this just because I want to sometimes.
It looks so easy to make! Woah
Would be great for an oc cosplay I am planning to do!
Do you think putting a clear heel on the back would make it easier to walk in?
Yeah we actually thought about that, but my sister wanted them without ones...
Ok
Anna Rhodes it might not look as good.
Dude is there like
A way I can just buy the shoes?
Star Reader you can talk to a fursuiter
Look into online stores with custom makers/crafters, like Etsy.
However, hoof shoes are probably REALLY EXPENSIVE (200-500$, I'd guess?). Not to mention that you have to make sure the shoes fit, and oh boy.. as someone who has wide feet, I would never be able to order them online.

Lightning Cosplay makes awesome ones but of course they aren't cheap.

Yeah it’s called Etsy
I saw I didn't get to see them paint it and actually put it together, but then part 2 was recommended! And I realized it was in parts and my awwws went to YAYs!!
These would be great for a quadsuit! :D
Understandably you're super busy in school (so am I!!), but may I jump ahead and just ask what you use to stick the heel to the boot? I think I've found enough materials to figure out how to paint the resin, but was curious what you use for adhesive. This is an amazing tutorial, thank you.
terranaut2 Hi, I used 2K Glue (Two Komponents Resin Glue) to fix the hoove. First we used silicon glue, but it was not strong enough.
If you spray the clay with pressurized air it come out easier!
My technique: take some old high heels, paint the bottom black, add some fur.... DONE!
You are super talented! Hands down! 🙌🏻
john patrick cao hok Thank you :)
It's beautiful. What a art work.
spray the mold with something that prevents sticking, or rub some vaseline on it. to make the latexpart more stable and easier to remove, try monsterclay or some clay that is sturdy but wont dry as much, there are alot of mold-making and mold-using videos on here, that have a lot of techniques in them that you might find to come in handy with any future projects.

OMG I WANT THIS SHOES !!!
Using a gravity heeled shoe might be easier next time :) /they have no heel/
I loved the tutorial though ^^
Yeeah definitely, but they are kind of expensive xD
way too expensive.
How exactly comfortable are these to wear?
on a scale of 1 to 10 how uncomfortable are these to walk in?
So what did you end up using instead of clay for the mold later on?
Putting Vaseline on the initial clay object before molding helps me!
Do you think I could make deer hooves with knee-high black heeled boots? I was wanting to add fur...
Of course... sound good :D You just have to make a pattern for your fur to cover the shoe, maybe with a zipper at the back. Maybe take a look at Lightning Cosplays Faun Costume, she did shoes like that before.
Those are some nice heels
Do they make a 'clip clop' sound when you walk on a hard surface? :)
+Megan Truscott Hi Megan, it is not a real ' horse clip clop' but they definitly make a sound :D
I think Alginate would of been a good material to use in order to stabilize the latex mold its both flexible and durable
+OnceUponATeddy20 Yes definitly! Next time I do a flexible mold for the stabilisation. It was horrible to get the cast out of our gypsum mold xD
You think there might be a way to detail the bottom of the hoof? For realistic hoof prints in the mud or snow ;) Great tutorial by the way :)
Can you show how to make artic fox feet or deer hoovs?
I want to make some, but in worries about the arch support. Do you need anything in the arch to the heel to support not putting your heel down?

Chiara Kling Mit Säge und Hammer, wie man im Video sehen und lesen kann.
Is it comfortable to walk in ? Or does it feel like you're constantly on your tippy toes?
No they are not comfortabe. I made them for my sisters photoshoot :D And it is difficult to walk in thoose. She had to practise...
i just cut the heel off and made a carboard hooves and it worked
Does it have to be a high heel ? Because I'm making a horse fursuit, but I don't want to make it with high heels. So can I use something else for the hooves base (the shoes) ? Please if you know tell me.
I would use a high heel because the shape looks more like a horse foot than a flat shoe :D
I have a question, my chop was super glued on I think, any tips? like the whole heel was super glue.
I'm new to creating this kind of stuff but is rubber latex the same as latex milk?
Because I can't seem to buy any latex milk anywhere.
Hi... sorry for the late answer... latex milk and rubber are not the same. But I think you can use both materials for casting. But I am not a pro, maybe check out the channel from SmoothOn... All they do is casting stuff and their channel is really nice if you are interested in some Professional technics. I would have prefered a 2 part silicone mold. it's easier to remove and you can cast with it the same way.
hi. yes it is. we whant to use a two part silicon mold next time. unfortunately this method is very expensive, cause you need more silicon for it. But it is easier and faster :D
would it be a bad idea to just use the clay? money is kinda tight at the moment...
hi. I never did it before so I dont know how stable clay hooves are :/ But you can also use Styrodur plates, this Material is really strong, cheap and lightweight , but it took a long time cutting and sanding it. Normally it is used for walls. Maybe this would be an option for you?

Thats probably possible, but I would use a flexible stabilisation. We had to destroy or second gypsum-mold cause it was too stiff.
Can u make a tutorial of how to make wolf ones plz!!
Its not planned. But If I do you will see it at my YT :D
Es que vous fabriquez a la demande des accessoires ou chaussures ?
This helped a lot thank you
Are they wearable?
hi~ when are posting part 2? this looks amazing i'll definitely try this~
efi ben Hi, maybe in september... at the moment I just have no time :/
ohh...
I'm sorry , right now I 'm sitting at my bachelor's degree :/
Ohhh wow good luck^^
thanks :)
If i use epoxy resin all i have to do is to mix part a with part b and it starts hardening? Also is it toxic should i wear a mask and gloves?
Yes thats how it works. definitly wear a mask and handgloves while working with epoxy. and do it in a well ventilated area.
+Jak Cosplay thank you very much! :)

Hi! What are the steps after this? I really want to give this a try for a prosthetic photo shoot, I'm a make-up artist but I love cosplaying to death! Please let me know! :)
Olivia Russell Hi, I hope I can upload the second Part this month. The next Part will be showing how to paint and fix the hoove at the shoe :)
I want some of these
Can you tell me when you wear it !
How do you connect the hoof to the show so it will stay together?
Hi, please watch part 2 of this tutorial. I used epoxy glue, but some people like to drill the hoofes :D
If I only had one of these, one of my friends would say "WHAT ARE THOSE???" That would be funny! XD
How did you get the hell off so smoothly?
what brand resin did you use? I have my mold all set to go but I want to use a resin that will hold up to being walked on
Hi Elizabeth I bought it at a local art shop in germany :D But I am sure you can find a similar product online :D
you're awesome thank you so much for this tutorial!

Can I use silicone to make the mold instead?
Of cause! May take a look at the channel "SmoothOn" they have a ton of molding videos with different technikes
Como se llama el líquido que utilizan para hacer la pesuña. En la parte final
Where would I get the latex
Wonderfull job ..
@jak cosplay how many hour you can resist with this shoes in a convention ?? T___T ¿comfortable?
uncomfortable as f*ck.we just used them for a photoshoot long time ago.
How do you balance...
Slime ASMR you walk on the ball of your feet
could i use plaster of paris rather than gypsum?
+KRisnotonfire Hi, I think plaster stripes would work as well, you just need a mold for the stabilisation of your silicone cast :D
+KRisnotonfire You can, but I would strongly recommend against it. The latex is latex for a mould?
yeesss :D
I love these to death but how the hell do you walk in them?
Supernatural Demon, if you pick a sturdy shoe, the weight of the heel is sent to the front of the toe in an even distribution. I’m guessing it’s difficult but easy to get used to
Can you make werewolf ones? That'd be awesome if you can i really want them and i can possibly pay you something
perry mackay Hi perry, I am sorry but I cant do commisions, unfortunately I do not have enough time :/
Jak Cosplay yeah that's ok I've started on some stilts
Allright :) Wish you a lot of fun and hope it turns out the way you wanted them...

Another approach for removing the hell is to use a jigsaw. It's a lot cleaner.
Ohh thats a good tip :D Thank you
Was I the only one who saw the way they spelled music at the end? 😂😂👌🏻
Hehe, yeah I am from germany... its spelled Musik here XD
Jak Cosplay so is that why you used music from vincent lee? XD
Idk Who cares how they spelled Musik I think people are too damn stupid now to be spell checking others on anything if you can read it then fuck it....the video is about a shoe tutorial Not spelling check Class 😂
I didn't notice it first because I'm german and in Germany it's spelled like that but then I looked again and I saw it xD
Idk Who cares" musik " XD
Thank you!! :D
Is it easy to walk without heels 😅🤘🏻
you definitly need some practise :D
What clay did u use?
I used simple moulding clay from a local art shop in Germany... you can use almost any clay but it is the best way to use clay that doesn't air dry. So you have a lot more time and you don't need to spray water on top to prevent the surface from cracks
Nice idea, but your video is at a speed that is way too fast.
Hi mightygoodmagic, some people already said it is too fast, hope I can redo this video again some day. I am still try to improve my videos, but thank you for your criticism.... thats really helpfull :D
Next time drop it in warm water and the Clay will dissolve
Ohh thats a good idea... never thought about that XD
you shiuld maje a website
Trying this bc I am curious
cool
That's smart I'm not joking👍
Next time , add keys to your mold and it'll be a zillion times easier to remove
Ohh yeah... I definitly use a two part mold next time ^^
that would suck if we fell on those shoes we would probable brake our ankle
hoof. hooves has to be used with an s
Ohh thank you, I am not a native, I am from germany XD Never stop learning...
👍👍
Is it possible to walk in those?
Rachel F Yes
Rachel F it’s like high heels, except you should probably be more careful because you’re up higher with no heel.
