Guess who is one of very few artists to have won an Oscar, Golden globe, and Grammy for a song that they both entirely composed and performed? That would be Carly Simon for the song “Let the River Run” from the 80’s classic “Working Girl,” directed by the late great Mike Nichols.
I only came upon this amazing song after randomly watching the movie on network TV. How on earth I have never heard this song on the radio or “in real life” in the background somewhere is beyond me. Why do radio stations play the same Katy Perry song 20 times a day but can’t play something like this just once? I just don’t get it.
Anyway…Carly Simon rocks (or at least she did for a while). Here are a few of her greatest hits. Hope you like ‘em

Very satisfying to listen to you present one of these medleys. Carly Simon is a brilliant lady - have you ever listen to Vanessa Carleton, another talented singer/songwriter somewhat under-featured by the Maximum-Money Music industry?
