Putting a .22LR conversion kit in a G3 seems like a way to get just about negative recoil (as opposed to merely negligible) even in full auto. I had a chuckle seeing all that tiny brass fly out an ejection port that should be tossing out .308/7.62 NATO casings.
The .22LR conversion for the G3 is temporary. There is a .22LR insert in the barrel. In less than a minute I can remove that barrel insert and put the original 7.62x51 bolt carrier group back in the gun, and it's a normal G3 again.
Being delayed blowback the recoil impulse of the HK 33K is different than an AR. In full auto it certainly feels smoother. But I wouldn't say it necessarily recoils any less than an AR.
This reminded me, my 1st rifle I ever shot was HK33 with .22 lr conversion. We were told to only shoot in semi-auto mode though.

Congratulations on a successful project, but as a G3 operator there might have been other, more creative ways to insult this.
