    Amen ! Another one of favorite Scriptures Christy !! Thank you !! I also love the smell of fresh turned soil Tim ! About 55 years ago I plow all the gardens in our neighborhood with an old Ford Ferguson and a single 12 inch moldboard plow! I can still smell that fresh soil !! Tim I appreciate you all and pray our Heavenly Father will continue to bless you and your family !!!!! EDDY

    I really love watching you till and the way you love it because it's "like farming" it's the same reason I bought my first sleeve hitch moldboard plow for my old Garden Tractor . Also just that while everything else may have seen an upgrade over the years. It's still that same old orange tiller 😊😊

    We have the King Kutter in the 72 inch version and found removing the skids let it dig much deeper. This allows us to use a disc hiller to make raised beds. I will keep an eye on the wear of the bottom of the machine.

    Tim I have a 2 acre garden that never needs to be tilled, Prairie Restoration came 2 summers ago killed everything then burned it. Next they replanted it with native grasses & flowers. It’s been a work in progress, going to take many years and money to get it to look the way we want but in the end it will be nice to look at.

    Tim in addition to having your stabilizers tight, I also find it very helpful to take a few minutes to center the tiller. This helps to pit less stress on the pto shaft joints, this is especially helpful in hard pack soil in my opinion

    My Phoenix Sicma T4-48" tiller behind my Kubota BX1880 does similar fantastic job. It has 6 tines and really chews it up fine. Like Tim says, I like to hit it a second time for the same reason, the skids sink in further and it tills deeper the second pass.

    Maybe use a subsoiler to break up the hard pan a tiller creates and may help the wet end drain better.
    Just my limited bit of info.

    • @lorzon
      @lorzon 5 лет назад +1

      The issue being that Rod's garden isn't really large enough for a subsoiler to get started properly. They might make a small for precisely that job, but I'm not sure Johnny would be enough tractor to pull it. Maybe a single bottom plow or something. The goal would be to break up the hard pan that the repeated tilling creates at the 4-6" depth that the tiller goes to.

    • @akbychoice

    I've been pretty pleased with my KK 5' tiller for my Kubota B3200. It chops up the ground really well. I must have an older model, because mine doesn't have a kickstand like your's does. I like that!

    Nice video TTWT... say I noticed using the quick hitch with the tiller, there's a lot of jumping up/down. You think it's a harder soil condition ? I don't use the quick hitch with my tiller, and doing a ball field it didn't bounce at all. I doubt it really matters much, just an observation was all... thanks for the video.
