Been running a Chameleon Emcomm III for several months. QTH in Oklahoma and get reasonably good coverage coast to coast. Do have a good ground system, choke at Feedpoint, grounded arrester for coax, inverted L configuration, vertical to approx 24’.
@@TheSmokinApe ......extended mast to 34’, and set the emcomm III to 32’ vertical. Running 95w I hit CA to NY on 20, 40, and 80. Getting ready to set up a second oriented east/west so that I can better propagate to the north and south. Will just connect both antennas to a switch so that I can easily switch back and forth as needed based on the contact
Emcomm III is a nice setup. Ive got it installed in a permanent setup in an inverted L. I run an ft-991 with it. Im looking at getting the standard emcomm at 130’.
Me and HOA's are completely like oil and water. I just could never live somewhere with rules like those. If I have a neighbor that has a problem , sucks to be them. LOL
Great video. I am experimenting with random wire and end feds in the back yard. Just a question for you. How high off the ground do you mount the 9:1 un un ? Is your antenna directional with regards to the counterpoise? Thanks 73 George KB3WAQ
Had to watch again!! :)
Fabulous video

Thanks Aname, glad you liked it 👍
Great stuff. So many antennas but like anything Ham, can never have to many. Thank you Ape. 73 de KG7LOI.
Thanks Clark, and I agree! The more the better 👍🤣
Thanks again man. This is gold. Thank you
Glad you liked it 👍

That's awesome Jay, it's defiantly a sweet antenna. Thanks for sharing the details of your setup.

@@jay-rus4437 nice, I’m actually putting up the emcom III today
@@TheSmokinApe ....I need to get some updated pics on QRZ. I have some, but not since I rebuilt the mast to be tilt down and extended.

Great video. this is probably out of your control......but in a 14 min video it showed 5 ads. Didn't know if you were aware of that.
Glad you liked the video, RUclips goes add crazy around the holidays

Lordy, I wouldn’t know what to do with all that wire 👍
TheSmokinApe ....lol....up one 25’ mast, horizontal approx 75’ to a second 25’ mast and back down. Lets just say we dont live in an HOA 😁
That would be awesome 👍
Thanks for making this video!
Antennas are a lot of fun

It is a pain, thanks for watching 👍

Thanks 73 George KB3WAQ
I try to keep them low these days, like three feet max. And the counterpoise can impact directionality. 👍
Thank you for another inciteful video. I'd love to build antennas. My issue is where do I source the parts, especially the torroids?
Glad you liked the video, I cover where I get mine in this video: Toroids, Chokes and Baluns for Ham Radio - Part 1 - TheSmokinApe
where can I get some winders like you use?
I 3D printed them. You can get the source files off thingiverse.
