- Today we continue our UK tour and visit an awesome old school pub in the South Yorkshire Town of Barnsley, requested on numerous occasions by the subscribers.
Getting a staggering 4.9 out of 5 in all reviews, we take a trip out to see why this is one of the best places for pub grub in the area, The Boatmans Rest at Worsbrough.
Famous for several celebrities such as Shaun Dooley, Kathrine Kelly, Dickie Bird, Stan Richards, Arthur Scargill, John Stones, Mick McCarthy, Bryan Glover and the world famous film KES, Barnsley is another sad example of the mess that Maggie Thatcher's Tory Government left behind by closing the mines, pits and steelworks in the area, yet Worsbrough on the outskirts of Barnsley, retains absolute beauty.
Join us as we walk around the in the Dearne Valley on New Years Day before heading to The Boatmans Rest for a Barnsley Chop and a massive Mixed Grill and beginning the experiment of Dry January, No Guinness, Crisps, Chocolate or Chinese takeaways for the whole month.
Starting at 16 stone 3, Can I lose any weight by doing absolutely nothing apart from cutting out the booze and snacks, but still eating a supposedly deadly diet.

Hi David, so far so good. The booze is easy enough, its a killer at night though when i fancy a bag of crisps. Not sure of any weight loss though with the size of the portions..lol..
