    I'm happy that I'm finding people willing to say "this is how you do it" without the "press G to grab" level of detail. It's much more engaging and informative for me at my level of expertise.

    "round cube" already a great start to describe a sphere.

    • @DrRachelRApe
      @DrRachelRApe 3 года назад +16

      No, it's not the same topologically. It's a great way to describe a round cube.

    • @Arkhansyd
      @Arkhansyd 3 года назад +5

      If we get technical about it the "Round Cube" is as much a sphere as the UV sphere, even if they are topologically diferent. They both attempt to mimic the same geometric shape through different means (radial vs smoothing).
      The distinction is that the "Round Cube" starts as a cube which then has a subdivision modifier applied to it, which is where the term comes from. "Rounded Cube" would be more acurate as a term, although it's admitedly less funny. "Round Cubes" are very useful for things that will not stay as a sphere, as the topology is evenly spread.

    • @DrRachelRApe
      @DrRachelRApe 3 года назад +3

      @@Arkhansyd No, it isn't as much a sphere as a UV sphere. A UV sphere is much more spherical. A round cube is a subdivided cube. Get lost.

    Ok using the Color Ramps for the Roughness and Bump was pretty genius ngl
    But real quick, just one question, wouldn't it have been easier to use the Cylinder Projection for the mug textures instead of marking the seams and then moving the selection in the UV Editor?

  • @toapyandfriends

    Which proportional editing are you on... Are you scaling in the Z direction when you model the bottom of the coffee cup or is the way it moves or scales a side effect of proportional editing

    I think you should dump the after effects and make a drivers to texture and uvwarp to bones. This way you can fully animate the face and not rely on a texture animation, almost like using a sprit sheet.
