Thank you for always putting in the time to make youtube videos! Also i ordered some merch today for the first time before seeing the coupon code 😂 oh well!
I'm really grateful for your videos. I am trying to learn swedish all by myself but I couldn't find enough decent materials or lessons in the internet in my language(I'm brazilian) , so I'm using my poor knowledge of english to learn it by watching your videos. Thank you very much!
hello! I was wondering if you can make a video explaining "asså" because I hear natives say it all the time very randomly in a sentence and its slang so i couldn't get a clear answer to my question on the web. Thank you Joakim for your efforts, they are very appreciated ... Keep it up :D
@@sayitinswedish there are several. I'd tell you all of them if I Could remember but I can't as I just recall feeling stumped while going through my lessons. One shorter example: "what is Lisa doing?" Is "vad gör Lisa" Which literally is "what doing Lisa" 😳 Often the verbs will be switched. If more than one verb it can be even more odd. Then there are some that are directly translated pretty much. So I'm not quite sure what the rules are here. When I go and practice again, I could add more examples. "vems hund är det?" is direct
Somewhat off-topic question. Is there any practical difference between "Varifrån kommer du" and "Var kommer du ifrån"? As I understand, they mean exactly the same thing. Is it a formal/informal thing or is there more to it?
@@sayitinswedish for an idea i think you may create a content to introduce basic swedish politics knowledge for people who dont live in Sweden :D. Det vore trevligt med en introduktion eller hur?;)

Joakim “...so I can buy coffee...” ELLER HUR!!!
Super informative as always, love the new more examples section, really helps to understand the concept :)
Yes, I thought I wasn't clear enough so I wanted to add some more nuance.
Agree on the additional examples!
Congratulations on your 10th Anniversary, as the creator of Say It In Swedish!
This is excellent. Thank you, and thank you for explaining 'väl' too. I had wondered about that.
Tack själv!
4:30 that made me laugh so hard and made my day, very good video keep it up!!!
Haha, lol
Those moose are always doing moosie things :))

@@sayitinswedish Tack för de fina videoklippen du gör! Du hjälper mig varje dag att förbättra mitt svenska. Har en underbar kväll!
Proud to be a member of the squad 😁
10:15 is that like "and how!" in English? Sounds old timey now, but seems like a good comparison
I guess??
I think you nailed it!

Ouch! I wanted to especially give it to those who really pay attention 😬 Thank you for your kind words AND for ordering merch though!

Sure!
Wow, I love Swedish!!
Underbart som alltid och tack sa mycket för det! Jag är lärare i engelskan och du talar engelska jättebra med mysig accent :)
Kul att du tycker den är mysig.
Could you do one on questions in general? As they are confusing me with the word order. Even a fellow swedish friend couldn't explain it to me!
What exactly about the word order is confusing do you think?

Bra jobbat! Tack så mycket :)
Tack själv!
Stora lektioner! Jag gillar mycket den här kanalen.
Jag har en fråga: Är det sant som ingen säyer “ej” eller “icke” nu?
Det stämmer, "ej" och "icke" används i princip bara skämtande i dagligt tal.
jag följer dina lektioner och jag gillar det mycket
Perfekt!
Tack så mycket!!
Var så god!

Not that I know of but I'd say that "Var kommer du ifrån" sounds more natural as a question.
@@sayitinswedish Tack så mycket
Can you use "va?" similarly to "eller hur?"? I'm pretty sure I saw it in one of your beginner lessons
You can! But "va?" is also used as "you know", a filler, that some people put after every sentence.
@@sayitinswedish Tack!
How about the use of "ju"?
There is a video on that.

Am I enjoying “Say it in Swedish?”
Me: “Eller hur!”

I dislike "eller hur" so much. It's obnoxious--basically the person is putting you on the spot to agree with them. Passive aggressive behavior.
Lol, that's inferring a bit too much into it.
@@sayitinswedish Maybe, my ex uses it a lot and perhaps I hate it because of him, haha!
