100%, and Ohm's first two albums far exceed any of his lead material in Megadeth or Return to Metalopolis. Resistance is super good too for recent projects.
He's my favorite MD player...period. Sure there are some technically better...but Chris has, like you basically said, his own style. Second for me is Marty, Third is Broderick. Broderick is a monster, but he doesn't really have a pronounced style like the preceding two.
+Max Steel Broderick to me is nothing personally, all the hardware in the world not one program worth running on it. Marty 110%. Really like Chris too, different styles but both incredible musicians so i respect them almost equally, maybe Marty a bit more by a pinch :)
Super old comment, but I'm curious about your thoughts on Kiko. I think he's fantastic! His style is a bit like somewhere between Poland and Friedman, and it's just so perfect for Megadeth's music right now.
His bends are just - so - unmistakable. Not sure how there can be thumbs down down? Only thing to me is he’s using a little too much distortion, but that’s just a matter of taste. Chris Kills it!!
He has to because he has torn tendons in his index finger. Which is why he only uses it to fret notes and not bend. He punched a window in high school or something like that. I'm sure the wrist angle comes from having to use the second and third fingers in situations normally reserved for the first and second.
Chris is an excellent guitarist, legend!!!!!
I always knew Poland was good and had a jazz influenced background, but Jesus! To see him now, I just picked my jaw up off the ground! Incredible!
2:30, 2:52, 3:36 - just buttery smooth blues/rock/fusion legato mastery! Love this guy!

He's really doing those Schecters justice. I love the piercing tone that he generates.
adoooooooooooooooore chris poland's skills
Chris has some of the most exotic and strange sounding phrasing I've ever heard. Very cool stuff. Also, that bass solo? Super sick.
Mustaine could use some of that feeling in an album, or something. I think that Poland is the Megadeth's guitarist who growed the most with time.

the first two megadeth albums with chris and gar is something else, very special feel
Hell ya, nice to know someone always gets a clip of Poland. Thanks mate!
Why isn’t Chris a household name? It’s insane. There just no one who plays like him.
Bumblefoot is right there with him.
This would throw EC for a loop - I think he would approve. It is in the right pocket and very Cream in spirit.
Who ever uploaded this, I love them.
Thanks for the upload - I always know where to come for golden snippets like this :)
Bassist does an excellent Jack Bruce in vocals and bass playing. Chris Poland WOOOOAAHHH!!!
Monster!
Dam no one plays like Chris!! No one!! Def my second favorite Megadeth player

krelbar
Yeah I am a Marty man all the way...But I totally agree about Broderick..He's skilled but lacks feeling...

fast and clean
Daaaaaamn Chris Poland fucking SLAYS! Great bass player too, btw
Those drums
Holy crap! :0
Still has the Megadeth feel. But he clearly knows his Clapton style bends!
Thats my guitar now.....
Early jam of Jack Bruce and Django Hendrix . Amazing
I hear some old boots are made for walking soloing going on
Hi is not human!! hahahahaha, pure fucking genius
Es un exelente guitarrista versatil :D
Dat bass sound tho
Channeling Cream/Jack Bruce
Blues Fusion

6:06 so beautiful
🔥🤘
Isn't it John Myung signature Yamaha, but with fretless neck?
any thoughts on his wrist position?? How can someone bend like that??

How can someone bend like that? Apparently very well! 😁
Number 2 in my Deth's Guitarrist List. Marty's 1st
Blues on a big 6 string bass will always be weird as hell.
1:52
Too damn many strings on that bass.
can't even play a simple tune without throwing a million 32nd notes onto it
Every single note sounded crisp and phenominal and fit what he was doing.
Really don't see a problem here.
If he didn't do it public there would be dissapointed.

That's his style man, relax your bridges. Such beautiful clean picking
