    I have a feeling some people are confusing LeBron's mini-camp with training camp.

    • @peteranders6893
      @peteranders6893 Месяц назад +14

      They have been confusing power forwards with wings for over a year now, so you might be on to something.

    • @Daangelvid360
      @Daangelvid360 Месяц назад

      At least most PFs can play the 3, like Rui or Bron

    • @peteranders6893
      @peteranders6893 Месяц назад +1

      @@Daangelvid360 Bron was a SF for more minutes for 14 years until he decided playing defense is overrated and now he won't ever go back, because it won't allow him to retain the same counting stats and play the same minutes. That's why AD was made to play center in the first place. Bron gave up bringing the ball up to conserve energy as well. If he played hard defense and started at SF LA would be much better, but Bron wouldn't be able to play over 26 minutes or so and he would shoot under 35%. At PF he can play 35 and shoot damn near 40%. Grabbing rebounds is easier, too. So that's what he does.
      So like I don't know what that even means when you say some PFs can play SF. Sure we call those guys forwards then. Real PFs are classified as power forwards, because they can't play on the perimeter on one of both ends of the court. LeBron can, always could and was always listed as a SF, even when he played PF sometimes in Cleveland for example. Guy is the best SF of all time and was until he wanted to be a nominal PF and play 80% of his minutes there. It's been ignored for three years now. Why does ESPN list him as a SF? I have no idea. The minutes logged at PF paint a completely different picture.
      Now Rui, that's a PF. He can't actually play SF. He gets burned at SF every time. When was the last time Rui locked down a shooting guard or small forward, stole a ball, blocked someone on the perimeter or jumped a passing lane? I mean of course it does happen every once in a while, but he clearly lacks foot speed to defend on the perimeter. About 90% of you guys said Kuzma can't play SF, because he lacks the foot speed for years. But Rui can? He can't. Kuzma has way better foot speed. It's better to play Rui at SF than starting Cam or Max, but they aren't on a starter level. In fact they struggle to be rotation players as you can see.
      That whole Vando and Rui thing really only works when they play together and Vando is defending on the perimeter while Rui plays like a SF on offense. Then they hide each other's weaknesses. If LeBron doesn't do that you have three interior defenders and two perimeter defenders. Those two are sub par as well. The whole NBA is playing 4 out or 5 out right now. As a result you get that same terrible perimeter defense we had all season long. Third worst in the NBA. That's bad. Really bad. Caruso, KCP and DG as starters went on a 13-1 run and were like +10 against starters. And that was rotation DG, not starter DG.
      You guys have just never seen a sensible lineup since then. Put Caruso and OGA with D'Lo, LBJ and AD and they would start the year 15-2 with a +13.5 rating. Nobody would say a word about needing a center.

    • @bamboosho0t

    Lebron and AD resting off an Olympic run is 1000x more important than a mini camp.
    The other players can shake off their rust during regular camp and pre season. These guys was just playing high level basketball last month. Not mention even Rui played during the Olympic run so those 3 (Lebron, AD and RUI) need to rest and take it easy long as they can to prepare for carrying the offensive load.
    Like others have mentioned, RUI NEED to play like our 2nd-3rd offensive option. I think he could be more consistent and versatile than DLO. Also think he could be a better defender.

    There's nobody that they can get that's worth having for the prices being asked might as well draft and start building up there assets now to make them valuable for the future everybody that they've signed for more than 2 years in the pasted couple of seasons keeps getting hurt when they changed the rules to penalize players the all Stars were a little more healthy but that's about it the mavs were in the finals so they made moves but the lakers haven't really shown that they are one move away they seem to be 3 moves away and that's with lebron whose 40 and probably about to retire lakers don't have the assets to get 3 quality players a new young team would be more exciting to watch build around austin and ad

    Lakers Nation is getting harder and harder to watch. With a new coaching staff, new playbook, and a recent history of slow starts, we need all the practice and chemistry we can get.

      @@LakersNation Not the same as when you get away from all the noise / distractions as a team and lock in. Never should have stopped the Hawaii trip. Even more so when we need to ramp up Connect, Christie, and to some extent JHS.
