Thank you for adding the parts in the drop-down. MOST videos don't bother!!! Did you ever get a metal gear to go where the one remaining plastic one remained?
@@HowToDIYRc I saw another video where a guy tried to do the same gears and modified them as needed and they still wouldn't work/ fit right. His advice was to stay with the plastic. The FY-03H and FY-07 both have brushless systems out of the box. I wonder if they changed anything or just left it to the owner to deal with?
I bought the kit version a year or so ago. I did have a go at using the kit supplied pinions (there were 2 different sizes), but found that both were very poorly manufactured, with jagged or ground down teeth. I suspect that is cause of the plastic gear wear experienced on some vehicles.
ye your right its much better to buy a good quality pinion gear if you want to enjoy the car for a long time thx for watching is your car still running?
DIY Rc yeah it runs. With a 380 race star brushless motor, and a 1000mah 3s Lipo (only small size battery I could find). It is not a quality product though. Don’t quite know why..the plastics are decent, but it isn’t exactly well put together. The rear diff had to be opened and gears had to be re-set and re-greased. They were dry. Didn’t have the patience to do the front. The red motor mount cover plate does not line up with the motor plate itself, so the motor looks skew. Filling the front shocks with oil is totally fruitless, as the compression and rebound rate is exactly the same with or without, so that needs new replacement oil dampers, which are difficult to come by in 65mm length with that tiny diameter (10mm?) required for clearance. Rear shocks were done, but not without drilling out 3mm mounting holes, and drilling out the lower mounting recess so that they can take larger shocks. So the kit is not for beginners. Sorry for the rant😏
@@HowToDIYRc ok, iam going to buy a way stronger motor than you have there. luckily the last gear fits perfectly on mine :D so i have a full metal drivetrain. only problem may be that when i was taking the rear driveshaft apart, i noticed the screws have little indents from stress in them. and that is the base motor of it....... lets hope it stands up.
I think we all agree these are defintely ideal upgrades for this rig .. Will be much better now.. Than ks for sharing.. :)
does a 2850 3100 kv motor work with the platic gears??
NICE! been binge watching your videos on this truck upgrades. I can't find the metal gears you used anywhere.. the link no longer works.
Thank you for the tutorial. But is it possible to change the driving shaft gear???
you mean the gold gear? is called a pinion gear and yes you can change it hope this helps
@@HowToDIYRcno I'm talking about the last plastic gear in the gearbox. One remain in plastic. I don't find gear anywhere in metal
oh that one ye it's still plastic for the same reason spend a lot time searching for a metal one but no luck sorry mate

Very cool! Which gear used, I can't find compatible model for the Feuyer fy03h. I will also do this upgrade.
Shut be a link to the gear in the description
Definitely a good upgrade now that it’s brushless 👍😎 it’s still gonna strip until u replace all the plastic gears
This thing will rip!
How did u mount the motor with the stock mount
Drilled few extra holes to make it fit
Nice video
Nice video, great upgrade! :)

@@littleraptor9898what gears did you use that you didn’t need to re-use the plastic one?
2/3rds of this upgrade is a waste of time without the other 1/3rd.
