Bought a 12428 on 7/21 and these drive shafts have different ends on them and will not fit mine at the differential it has a gap and pin not this design.
Actually I just tried these on my 12428. Will not work. It has to take what they call a dog bone shaft unless we change the whole front gear box. The adapters are completely different.
I was so excited when these finally came in too. Looked like it was going to be a real good upgrade over the dog bones that are so weak. Only to find out they were unusable.
"...if this breaks iam going to eat my hat" well i ate mine after 3 months of using the metal axles EDIT: also, my diffs keep breaking, did you leave them shimmed stock as they came, or did you adjust them? and what grease did you use on the diffs? i dont want to throw out money because of that rear fucking diff all the time.
not all the metal axles are from the same quality over the years i have seen different versions a tip for the read diff it to lock it and the grease i use are high quality and temprature ball bearing grease
