I know I actually don't feel very comfortable when I'm bombarded with having to live up to a politically correct self image within a social context. So to hell with it and I'm starting from scratch from blank accounts
I can help with the family thing. I’ve gotten so much negativity for my work from family. Like you, they see it all and don’t always agree. I had to remember, they see it all because they’re not doing anything of their own. They’re successful or happy, or hard working and I love them all, but at the end of the day, they don’t have to like everything I do. If what I do makes me happy then so be it. If they want to support then do so. If they don’t then I respect it but I’m not losing sleep over it.
This is great. As a new artist putting out their music, doing so much promo work can seem very overwhelming at first which leads to anxiety and procrastination. But breaking down things into day by day, small goals replaces anxiety with excitement because now tasks become manageable. Keep it up

Hey Damo, what do you see as the big picture goal here? I'd love to see a video from you about what you do AFTER the single releases...since with online streaming, releasing by album doesn't make a lot of sense, do you just immediately track on to the next single and release it next month? If so, how do you harness the power of this 23 day process without burning out your friends, family and fans? Love your content, been watching for years. You're a class act, man. You keep making em and I will keep watching em. 😊
I just want to point out that the single cycles for albums used to last for months back in the day. Think of an album like they were back in the 90's. A bundle which you could buy and get early access to future singles and extra songs. Singles are promotion to sell the album.
I love your info Damian. I followed your 22 day plan and I have to say that A BAND might be able to do this in 23 days but a solo artist cannot. I stayed strict to the plan and still had to push back my release date twice. There is so much creation involved that if you are looking to post some crap artwork then I’d say 30 days but advertisement posts, photo shoots, and music videos all take an artists hand and these are things that can’t be rushed if it is to be a true expression of your work. It’s a nice template but when you teach you tend to speak in terms of bands with more than two people in them. Hardly do I ever see you videos focus on the solo artist, lone person doing everything.

This is made for both solo artists and bands - it definitely isn’t easy, I wanted to give the best and most comprehensive release plan out there and that’s going to work for some people but isn’t going to work for a lot of people too. Music is the most competitive industry outside of sport and it is incredibly hard and time consuming. Different people have different expectations for their music and this plan definitely leans towards people who are all in but everyone is welcome to take aspects from it to fit their release 😊 I think perfectionism is a huge problem sometimes as we tend to overthink elements that would be better if we took action 😊 Always happy to help, reach out on insta if you want to chat more!

I’ve now become a pro member to DKMBA and am taking my time working through the roadmap to 1 million streams. I honestly used this strategy in my last two releases and I liked the results and like how the release felt. The response was the best it’s ever been.

I’ve now become a pro member to DKMBA and am taking my time working through the roadmap to 1 million streams. So far it’s been so helpful in simply visualising the artist that I am and the audience I think I’m trying to reach, I’m loving it! Obviously very early days for me to get any real data yet but so far it’s been very very eye opening, thank you!
