Another enjoyable video. I do miss the Derbyshire countryside, but I don't miss the boggy tracks, although I suppose that's why everything is so green and lush.
Hi Gareth can I just say we are really enjoying all your videos. We live in the area so it's nice to see and hear the history told through you and Phil. Would love you to try and follow the old pinxton canal always wondered where it went. Could you ask Phil if he knew my brother in law Eddie bunting at butterly. Also a lad called Melvin? Hope you do loads more. Cheers Dean.
Hi. Yes i do recall both names. I think Melvin (tall blonde) came through as an apprentice and Eddie (prob Bunt i knew him as) im sure he was there for years. He used to call me Breezeblock head, due to my (then) chisled faced looks !😃
@@gilesestram hi Phil thanks for replying. When I talk to Eddie he tell us some good stories of his time there. Keep finding the walks mate they are great
Gareth is such a sweetheart of a man. Genuine good soul. I don't think i've enjoyed watching something this much in ages. 🙏❤

Great stuff Gareth...liked the before and after comparison, what a contrast. Cheers both.
Thanks mate
Jessop's Tower was built so those in the area can see in to the distance. Imagine 200 years ago you never left the valley!
Different world eh!
