The dice mechanic of losing if you roll too high is useless. Losing the game is just so inconsequential that it would literally make no difference if the dice game is left out or not. Now if losing the game would result into a complete restart without the possibility to reload from the last save, then the fear of losing would actually force the player to keep his chances of being jailed or assassinated low. How it is right now it's just "Oh I lost. Well I just gonna reload, give him the sentence and then roll again until I win.".

Sure you have the ability to load back, but the mechanic relies on the players integrity and willingness to take risk, just like any decision based game that lets you load saves at will
