I am half Danish half Greek, I have been living on a Greek island almost my whole life, but I often find myself missing Denmark and the Danish language that I love.
One thing about Denmark it’s free to walk around and look at all the architecture. You can check out what activities are going on in the city, for example in June there is a jazz festival. It’s fun to listen to the music and do some people watching. Danes are beautiful people!❤
I have lived in Denmark my whole life and from my experiences the prices are always higher in the city center, but as soon as you leave it things will get cheaper. Fx a sandwich could cost around 80-90 DKK in the centre, but as soon as you leave the same sandwich will be 50-60

Also because there are a lot of services available here. I'll not eat out during these two years because I love good food and I'm a good cook. If I find a part-time job I think I would save some money too, here salaries are incredibly high although high taxation (it also means good retirement savings)
Yea, that’s why we don’t go out too much, but then when we go on holiday and everything is cheap we spend like crazy. Wish we could cut GST a bit, it’s hard for the businesses to make a profit in smaller cities when 25% is gst, not a lot of small town people can afford 50 kroner coffee, so the regional city life dies out, sadly.

i'm an italian living in copenhagen, cappuccino is like 2+, he's just walking into all the tourist traps with x3-x4 prices. Aside from a couple things that have "premium price" cost of living is close to what people spend in milan, what costs a lot more than italy is usually bars/diners cause the "minimum wage" employees are paid like x2-3 what they are paid in italy.

denmark is fairly expensive, partly because most people get paid a fair amount (obviously there are still people living in poverty, but on average our income is quite high so prices match that.) but also, tourist places always charge more because they can get away with it 😂

The Danish architecture isn't exclusive to Copenhagen, so you can go way cheaper places and get a glimpse of good Danish nature too. Try going to the coast near the northwest instead. Way cheaper, way prettier.
As a Dane, I can safely say, Copenhagen is an absolute shithole. If you plan to visit Denmark, Copenhagen should NOT be your first choice, everything is 3x more expensive (at the very minimum), the city is boring, and you'd have a hard time spending more than 3 days in the city, and then you've seen everything.

It's honestly not bad, Copenhagen has lot's of known turist traps. You can find cheaper places, those with the best locations are normaly those that charge more for a reason.
Denmark got some interesting taxes on for example stuff like sugar. Many unhealthy things are taxed especially high. I had family living there for a few years and they had me get them stuff like Nutella from germany when i came to visit. If you look out for that the prices arent really extreme.
With that $100, you should try the simplicity of the rural place..I am sure it would be much cheaper. Anything purchased in the city centre is definitely a bomb to pay.😅
I bought the larger size of the lakrids, I got the pink pineapple flavor, the display was so wonderful that I didn’t even ask how much until I looked at my card statement and it was 28 bucks. Absolutely worth it! Especially since licorice in the US is all wheat-based and this was rice derived.
